Awe thank you! I knew most of them so well it was like they were my own loved ones. And it was fantastic to come in the door and have groups of residents gathered together to greet me. They made all the chaos from the staff and difficulties on shifts so very worth while. I do miss them so. Most are passed now and I can't wait to see them again in Heaven.
Sir Garfield Sobers is still going strong and is a National Hero on my island Barbados 🇧🇧. Thank you Dickie Bird for the mention 🏏🏏🏏. The greatest cricketer the world has ever seen!!!
My great niece is an ER nurse & she loves it! She says it's never a dull moment & u never know what to expect, so it keeps ur nursing skills on point! Her mama, my niece, is an ICU nurse. I think she's about burned out due to COVID-19. I hope not, she's a great nurse with a lot of experience.
It’s sad we’ve had great nurses and Covid really did a number on their health as well not contracting Covid but just working overload was to blame because of Covid. They were begging students to become nurses because so many nurses were calling it quits while the outbreak was going on.
Nurses are awesome. I had awesome ones when I was in the hospital last year for renal failure. They made me feel comfortable as much as possible. They didn't bother me much when I was half way better when my kidneys were working better and going to the washroom to their liking, only time they came to see me is to give me my meds, or to tests, or when I was given my meals, or if I had any questions. It made their work easier knowing I was able to do things more on my own. I sure miss talking and joking with them though it made my day ok and I got to make them laugh so bonus for both sides.
I know in the past it was always during the night when they came in to check your IV that they used to always bought my bed or I would just wake up with them being near the bed and it took me forever to get back to sleep, but with me being in the hospital, always getting poked at because I’m a type one diabetic and now that I’ve had it 53 years. I’m going in for my 22nd operation and it’s going to be a double bypass open heart surgery the biggest operation that I think I’ll ever have. I know for a fact that I won’t be resting too much cause they’re always wondering how I’m feeling because of being type one diabetic.
Nurse Cheryl and nurse Jane so sweet, so compassionate. A lot of our nurses here in the US are in the job for the money. We need more nurses like these two.
There is some evidence that babies who are higher risk for sids have a cry that sounds different than other babies. Parents of victims have described recognizing that their baby's cry sounded higher pitched, weaker or oddly sounding compared to other infants. It is thought that a narrowed airway may be the cause but I am not certain of any other details. You can hear the baby's cry in this video sounding like this may be similar. Just something to be aware of if you are a parent.
There was definitely something odd about the baby's cry. Kind of squeaky and broken. I've never heard anything like it before I watched this episode. was, definitely something going on with the airway, but nothing that could be picked up on scans. Hopefully he was watched for sometime longer than 3 weeks in a neonatal unit.
when I was in high school, I was working at a gas station for one of my classes. One day a truck pulling a loaded boat trailer pulled up to the gas pump. I pumped the gas into the boat's gas tank and collected the payment. I was standing on the pump island between the oil case and credit card machine waiting for him to pull out. When he started turning to exit the station, he turned too early and the trailer wheel ran up over the pump island, over my foot, and down off the pump island. This happened in 1973. I could not walk on that foot for about a month. Nothing was broken in my foot but was severley bruised.
@@patriciawickholm3617 I was lucky that no bones were broken in that foo t(right foot). The next school day I was supposed to sell football ribbons for the school team but could not stay on my feet all afternoon.

Jane if someone doesn't like your smiling I think something is wrong! I am someone who smiles and hug's people. I found as a nurse people prefer that to a Debbie downer! Keep on smiling 😄🥰😄 The nurses at the hospital I worked at had to wear black, I didn't like it because I was a oncology nurse in a clinic setting and I think we should of worn something more cheerful. Black is more flattering 😊
We were black, and I love it because we deal a lot of stuff like blood puck and vomit, and it I think that we stand out, but now I work in the Operating room so I wear green scrubs.
On the footwear thing, if you can get a pair of comfy shoes but big enough to wear also 2 pairs of thick soft socks, it can feel like your walking on clouds 😍👍
😆 Unfortunately we don't sell gas & air at Amazon...wish we did 😁 Oh, and BLACK is definitely the best color for a uniform becuz everyone always looks good in Black ❤
What is "Reeces?" I turned on the closed captioning and it says Rhesus (like the monkey) and recess. Neither one makes sense to me. Is Reeces the name of a section of the hospital?
It’s like a inhaler version of “gas and air” like they used on Call the Midwife. I think the new gas they are using is methoxyflurane instead of nitrous oxide.
I think hospital visits r beautiful as dumb as that sounds but just because it goes on to show you that we’re all humans were all in the same boat and we really should learn to be much easier on each other
He wasn't at home. When does it say he was at home? Some babies are born at home, so that's why some one-day-old babies are at home. My Aunt was born at home with my mum, 3 years old at the time, asleep in the next room.
I believe it is a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen, not being from the UK, (And having watched the two seasons of the ambulance series) I was quite interested in how it's used for pain. I've been in & out of hospital myself here in Canada, I've never seen it used.
@margiecaeter2096, I thought the same until the nurse sharing the story of her baby passing stated she was a "Sister" at one point, kind of didn't make sense at that point, so I turned to good ol' Google! Apparently a "Sister" in the UK health system is someone in charge of and running a ward. Here where I live in Canada, I believe we would call them charge or ward nurses. So no it appears they are not nuns after all.
Nurses are truly Angels.
Aww, tysm! Was a nurse/paramedic for 28 yrs. I miss it sooo much!
They truly are 🥰
My 40 years as a nurse were a truly rewarding way to spend my working life. I would do it all again.

Not all of them! Believe me!

You were a wonderful patient and the nurses will always remember you fondly.
Agreed!

I thought the cry sounded very strange. Unlike any l had heard before.
They are all wonderful

I was on my feet 14 hours a day on concrete floors and Merrills saved my back and knees. I swear by them.
Audrey is lovely and so sweet.
That comment about the shoes was hilarious I’m sure some of you out there have had to walk around having soggy feet or whatever and that is the worst
Jane your the best
I don’t understand why you wouldn’t contact a pediatric heart DR ?

Why is a one day baby at home?
They can be at home
