@@sparker-sparkle Did you know that there are actually two cats that are named Ashfur? The first one is a Shadowclan elder from Into The Wild, and the second one is the cutie-pie turned jerk from the later series.

Hi, hello! I just wanted to share some information on Beetlewhisker since one of the questions was about him, and I'm a sucker for background RiverClan guys from OotS! (Hollowflight my beloved)
The reason why Brokenstar killed Beetlewhisker in the first place was because Beetle was backing out of the Dark Forest, but not because he was scared. What actually happened was that Beetlewhisker stood up against the Dark Forest during a meeting that had one trainee representative from each Clan. He was the RiverClan one, and after stating that he wasn't going to attack his own Clan, he turned to leave, but not before Brokenstar stopped him, bit down on his neck, and killed him.
I just wanted to clarify that he wasn't killed for cowardice, but defiance! It's the only time in the entire series where Beetle gets any interesting characterization, so I just wanted to make sure misinformation wasn't spread. No ill will towards Blixemi of course! I mean, even I get pointless cat facts mixed up sometimes! : )

btw whats super interesting is that his mom, icewing, was also training in the df. she literally had to watch her son die :(

While she wasn't there for the meeting that he was killed at, given how Dovewing saw Antpelt die with her power, we can assume that Icewing most likely woke up to her son dead! And who knows if Ivypool or anyone else there told her exactly what went down, imagine you find your son dead one morning and don't even know why. Was she loyal to the Dark Forest before this, or was she beginning to have doubts of her own? We don't know! But I'd sure love to!
Another sad thing about this is that all together canonically, (I say canonically because I have a headcanon of Icewing being Hollowflight and Mossyfoot's mother, but that's besides the point) Icewing is the mother of six kits, but her first litter of four kits, which includes Beetlewhisker, are dead by the time we're halfway through AVoS. It gets even worse because her mate Mintfur just disappears! The authors probably forgot about him, or he could be dead! Yet another thing I'd like to know! So Icewing's only family alive up to now (and yes, she's still kicking it in canon) are the two kits from her second litter.
I REALLY would like a novella or SOMETHING on her one day. Maybe when Warrior Cats runs out of ideas we'll get something. Until then, I have my many headcanons and thoughts on background RiverClan cats to tide me over.
