Es war ein super Abend und ein wunderschönes Konzert.
A little bit hard to believe that I heard what I just heard. This is how ... no, EXACTLY how ... this music should be performed. Piemontesi is not just playing in front of a wonderful orchestra, he is playing TOGETHER with fellow musicians ... just perfect!!! What phrasing, what technical brilliance, what sense of beauty Piemontesi has. And Maestro Norrington ... a musical sage ... a magician. I am overwhelmed ...!!!!!!
I agree with you 100%, What a beautiful concert. Wow! The way they set the piano on stage is absolutely perfect. The cover is off and everyone in the orchestra can see each other. After all they are making music together.
Truly one of the greatest performances of this piece in modern history.

Sensationeller Solist, großartiges Orchester. Der zweite Satz vor allem hat mich rhythmisch und dynamisch umgehauen. Dass »Largo« absolut gar nichts mit einem langsamen Tempo zu tun hat, wird hier ganz wunderbar deutlich. Es tut so gut zu wissen, dass die heutige Generation an Musikerinnen und Musikern wirklich ganz hervorragend ausgebildet wird. Summa summarum ist das überhaupt nicht die soundsovielte Aufführung des c-moll-Konzerts. Für mich ist das eine Uraufführung.
Hören Sie im Vergleich zum Beispiel Gulda/Stein: hier kann das Largo wundervoll atmen. Hier unter Norrington geht durch das zu rasche Tempo der Geist dieses Satzes verloren. Die Musik wirkt oberflächlich, schade. Dort dauert das Largo über neuneinhalb Minuten und das ist gut so. Hier wird es in weniger als sieben Minuten abgespult. Auch bei Brendel/Rattle dürfen wir diesen Satz in diesem Zeitmaß genießen. So interessant ich Norringtons Ausführungen zu Beethovens Symphien und seine Darlegungen zu den oft zu langsamen, zu gedehnten Wiedergaben bei diesem Komponisten finde, hier im Largo zerbricht etwas.
@@klassiknatur4611 ich bin ganz Ihrer Meinung. Das Largo wirkt total overpaced und der Dirigent ist mehr pacemaker denn Taktgeber!

Very nice performance. After 30 some odd years I’ve noticed a lot of different Beethoven literature sounds alike. Yes, I was the nerd listening to Beethoven symphonies etc. as a child and site reading through the piano sonatas. I will say that classical music trains your brain to desire order and beauty.
