  • Gary Berg-Cross is speaking on "Summary of some issues from Session 1 and some foundational issues for LLMs vs Cognitive/Symbolic systems" and Hamed Babaei Giglou is speaking on "Exploring LLMs for Ontology: Ontology Learning and Ontology" at the Ontology Summit 2024 on 6 March 2024.
The summit will survey current techniques that combine neural network machine learning with symbolic methods, especially methods based on ontologies and knowledge graphs.

It would be very interesting to see if the current way training that happens with NLP and GNNs are suitable enough architectures to support a usable Ontology.
We may have to consider how are very human and organic sensory apparatuses are tightly wound to our symbolic language.

13:15 the very point of this question at this timestamp gets us to think that at the very foundation of hallucinations is that the NLP/LLM doesn’t know what the heck it’s doing.
Could a future Ontological machine have a literal argument over concepts, and, like a living organism, may/may not be persuaded by additional data
