So proud of our town and the strong mid-western spirit that helped us rebuild even bigger than it was before the tornado! A visit to Cunningham Park, the spiritual ground zero of the tornado, is a must see. Original and varied eateries, parks, architecture, murals and shopping are found here too!
Larry Spaeth I am a fellow Joplinite and I wish they would have shown a little bit of the tornado tributes and spoke a little more on it and how we've grown stronger since. But I do love the video overall.
This is a fun, entertaining video, very well done. My favorite part was the George Washington Carver section, the shots were very nice (it capture the lush landscape), the information was very helpful, and the entertainment value was superior. Tip my hat off to the producer, host, camera man, editor, the whole crew, clearly this took some serious effort and should be recognized. Thanks for finding beauty in the ordinary.
I like Joplin because I'm an outdoor person. I love fishing, boating, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, and drive in movies. If you're not into nature or art you will get bored. If you're creative you will find stuff to do. If you get bored you can visit other cities. We are in the middle of Kansas City, St. Louis, and Tulsa Ok. Nice video by the way.
@@paytons8067 there are panhandlers and plenty of tweakers. They don't run the town but are visible mostly on the north side of town. All fishing and nature are on the southside.
Great video of our small city! You all did a great job capturing the beauty of Joplin. When people say Joplin is boring it's because they have become complacent with their surroundings! Thanks for the wonderful video! BTW DJ Rockette you killed that beat with some sic rhymes!
Old mining memories and candy houses are nice but how about the homeless problem, the panhandlers, the lack of a public transportation system, the lack of even a single high-grade grocery store?
Since the tornado, it's grown so much bigger that I hate the traffic now. But it's cleaned up quite a bit. All new buildings and homes. Looks nice, but to the point of you can't make a left turn, if you don't hit a light.
Out off all the towns cities states countries this place was beyond boring not hating just my experience my old roomate lives there showed me around couldnt wait to leave just being honest
Come to Roswell New Mexico you would be way more bored here than in Joplin I assure you! A town that is about the size of Joplin, but has way less to do than Joplin does!
it's a decent city, just not much support for upcoming musicians or any artists for that matter. there's no real venues or attraction to anything here, so audiences will always be rather small. all we have is our downtown which is beautiful and all, but that's not going to fix the issues of the city, but honestly not much goes on and nothing will really grow here since we are located in Southwest Missouri which is pretty conservative so the politicians will continue to not invest in anything that will actually grow the city like they say they want to. all they do is just spend money on doing construction on the same roads over and over again. at the end of the day I'm not sure this city could even handle more then 100k people because just looking at another city Springfield which is similar in layout design and has awful traffic problems for a city that only have like 160k people. on another topic Joplin is pretty full of meth heads, which is probably no fault of the city, but they are everywhere. oh and on the topic of politicians they are pretty greedy and are known to pocket tax money. onto your video now, I think that your production quality is pretty good, with nice professional looking cuts and overall nice camera angles of everything. though I do feel the amount of content here is lacking as you really only cover the history of the city, but you don't go that far into current stuff about the city, which fair enough it's not a big city so there's likely not enough to really talk about with it. I honestly feel that if you're looking for opportunity this probably isn't the best place to start though. I do think that the video would be more enjoyable if it was like 40 minutes long instead of just over 10. the one thing that really confuses me is how the video could have such a high level of quality with such little views. I mean I do notice some wonky shots, but overall this looks like something I'd see on cable TV.
Meth heads are all over Roswell New Mexico as well. The sad thing is we only have 2,000 less people than you guys do, and we have way less to do than you guys as well. Plus most of Roswell is a freaking Ghetto! It sucks so bad and New Mexico is just getting worse. We have to wait until our boys are out of High School in about 4 years, but we are for sure moving to Joplin. I bet you there is less Meth heads in Joplin than Roswell for sure! My brother just moved there and I am looking forward to joining him.
I hate listening to an outsider about what a great place Joplin is. Truth is crime is higher than the national average and the police only care about traffic violations. Don't believe me look up Joplin crime rate.
Thank you for visiting our town! Joplin is a great place. I was raised here and I'm proud to be raising my little ones here as well.
Well made. The editor deserves some props, best video of my hometown I've ever seen.

I’m think of moving here , but I’ve heard that panhandlers and tweakers pretty much run the city. What’s your take on that?
