      Look phone waves frequency is way lower than visible light if you want to get worried get worried about visible light and try to isolate yourself from visible light see it does not make sense so phone waves are safe if visible light is safe too.

    I wish they would have also compared cellular (microwave) frequencies to *visible* frequencies. It's easy to see how ridiculous these claims are when you realise that LITERALLY TURNING ON YOUR LIGHTS exposes you to more energetic radiation than your cellphone.
    Also it should be noted that not all kinds of "radiation" are the same. Lightbulbs and cellphones radiate photons, nuclear power plants generally radiate neutrons (and other nuclear particles). Speakers radiate sound. Heaters radiate heat - some heaters are even called *radiators*.
    Radiation is not inherently dangerous, the danger comes from the amount of energy transferred.

      More power does not increase the wave's energy, just the amount of photons emitted. If one photon is not energetic enought to damage you, two, three or a million won't be an issue too. If you don't have the exact same amount of energy to interact with your cells, emitting more photons won't interact either.

      Hertz and power are completely seperate
      Power increases the particles (cancer and genetic damage does not stack/accumulate), so it’s more likely to hit you
      Hertz is the energy in a individual photon/electron
      The only thing that increasing the power would do is maybe burn you, any cancer developed from that is not due to radiation but due to your body’s imperfect cell division

    Another thing that wasn't really touched on (but didn't really need to be), is that nuclear radiation is oftentimes a lot different than electromagnetic radiation. The spread of radioactive particles is the main cause for large-scale concern, and the health effects are mainly due to radioactive decay that lets out different types of non-electromagnetic radiation such as alpha and beta radiation, which are helium nuclei and electrons respectively.
    But yeah, that's a bit out of the scope of this video, it just made me think of it.

    A very interesting aspect of this topic is the amount of antennas near you. People usually think, that a close by cell tower means a lot higher intensity than if there were only few towers. But contrary, the more towers there are around you, the weaker their signal can be to still work properly. So if, say, every house had a cellphone antenna on it's roof, the amount of radio wave exposure would be lower than if there was only one tower per city.

      It is not possible to get cancer from mobile towers. The towers only emit non-ionizing radiation which is known to not cause cancer. The waves this radiation makes are Radio waves and I think Microwave waves (no, they're not microwave oven waves). These kinds of waves have a frequency that is nowhere near the frequency needed to damage DNA. Therefore mobile towers cannot cause cancer.

    We were all taught the safe dose equation as part of the Radio Electronics Technical qualification back in the 1980's.
    Back then the maximum safe dose for polarising radiation (being inside the polarised electromagnetic field pattern surrounding an antenna that actually generates the radio waves) was 400 Rads. This was what doctors and scientists regarded as the maximum daily dose of exposure.
    This was a Radio Technician final exam question for me back in 1985 and was well drummed into the class because of obvious health hazard issues involved.
    The bench mark equation mark is:
    400 Rads = 28 Mhz @ 108 Watts for 1 hour.
    A Radio Engineer or Technician can use the equation to calculate just how long he can be next to a live antenna by simple engineering mathematics.
    ((((400 Rads / 28 Mhz) x transmitter frequency) / 108 Watts) x transmitter antenna input power) = Rads per hour.
    It works out that a person would need to have an average cell phone next to their head for 34 minutes to achieve 400 Rads.
    Who on earth is stupid enough to be on a cell phone that long??

Just because current research can't definitively explain whether it causes cancer or not, does not mean it isn't happening. Your body produces infrared radiation from every cell, all the time. That's about as NEAR you as you can get. That's a far HIGHER amount of energy (frequency) than your cell phone -- which, in your scenario, would only be near you (and a much much lower frequency).
      So the phone NEAR you when you are sleeping would be a NON RISK, comparatively.
      Plus, the phone isn't doing much if you are sleeping -- it might PING the local tower, get some random microsecond email bursts or text messages requests.. but that's going to be about a few seconds of energy through the entire night. If you have a nightlight across the room, you are already getting more EM radiation from that.

    _In this review we discuss alarming epidemiological and experimental data on possible carcinogenic effects of long term exposure to low intensity microwave_ _(MW)_ _radiation._ _Recently,_ _a number of reports revealed that under certain conditions the irradiation by low intensity MW can substantially induce cancer progression in humans and in animal models._ _The carcinogenic effect of MW irradiation is typically manifested after long term_ _(up to 10 years and more)_ _exposure._ _Nevertheless,_ _even a year of operation of a powerful base transmitting station for mobile communication reportedly resulted in a dramatic increase of cancer incidence among population living nearby._ _In addition,_ _model studies in rodents unveiled a significant increase in carcinogenesis after 17-24 months of MW exposure both in tumor-prone and intact animals._ _To that,_ _such metabolic changes,_ _as overproduction of reactive oxygen species,_ _8-hydroxi-2-deoxyguanosine formation,_ _or ornithine decarboxylase activation under exposure to low intensity MW confirm a stress impact of this factor on living cells._ _We also address the issue of standards for assessment of biological effects of irradiation._ _It is now becoming increasingly evident that assessment of biological effects of non-ionizing radiation based on physical_ _(thermal)_ _approach used in recommendations of current regulatory bodies,_ _including the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection_ _(ICNIRP)_ _Guidelines,_ _requires urgent reevaluation._ _We conclude that recent data strongly point to the need for re-elaboration of the current safety limits for non-ionizing radiation using recently obtained knowledge._ _We also emphasize that the everyday exposure of both occupational and general public to MW radiation should be regulated based on a precautionary principles which imply maximum restriction of excessive exposure._

    *Risks of carcinogenesis from electromagnetic radiation of mobile telephony devices.*
    _Abstract_
    _Intensive implementation of mobile telephony technology in everyday human life during last two decades has given a possibility for epidemiological estimation of long-term effects of chronic exposure of human organism to low-intensive microwave_ _(MW)_ _radiation._ _Latest epidemiological data reveal a significant increase in risk of development of some types of tumors in chronic_ _(over 10 years)_ _users of mobile phone._ _It was detected a significant increase in incidence of brain tumors_ _(glioma,_ _acoustic neuroma,_ _meningioma),_ _parotid gland tumor,_ _seminoma in long-term users of mobile phone,_ _especially in cases of ipsilateral use_ _(case-control odds ratios from 1.3 up to 6.1)._ _Two epidemiological studies have indicated a significant increase of cancer incidence in people living close to the mobile telephony base station as compared with the population from distant area._ _These data raise a question of adequacy of modern safety limits of electromagnetic radiation_ _(EMR)_ _exposure for humans._ _For today the limits were based solely on the conception of thermal mechanism of biological effects of RF/MW radiation._ _Meantime the latest experimental data indicate the significant metabolic changes in living cell under the low-intensive_ _(non-thermal)_ _EMR exposure._ _Among reproducible biological effects of low-intensive MWs are reactive oxygen species overproduction,_ _heat shock proteins expression,_ _DNA damages,_ _apoptosis._ _The lack of generally accepted mechanism of biological effects of low-intensive non-ionizing radiation doesn't permit to disregard the obvious epidemiological and experimental data of its biological activity._ _Practical steps must be done for reasonable limitation of excessive EMR exposure,_ _along with the implementation of new safety limits of mobile telephony devices radiation,_ _and new technological decisions,_ _which would take out the source of radiation from human brain._

    For the most part the discussion is on microwaves.
    Microwave beams create oscillating magnetic fields within their beam. Molecules that are polar (have a negative and positive side) like water will align to this field. The rapid oscillation results in heat. That is how microwave ovens work.One risk is that microwaves heat up water. Its possible just this small heating of your blood will cause problems long term. More a risk if you are holding a device against your head.A water molecule is a stable one. It takes a fair amount of energy to separate hydrogen from oxygen. If you increase the energy It will eventually occur. Other molecules are not as stable and the bar is much lower. DNA is a polar molecule and is subject to the effects of microwave magnetic fields. The amount of oscillation required for DNA to degrade is unknown, but finite.
    Many "safe" molecules can degrade into a "unsafe" ones. Many chemicals break down simply from heat. As an example many everyday foods are poisonous if uncooked. The opposite is also true many chemicals become poisonous only after heating. As anyone who has cooked a burrito knows microwaves tend to focus heat in areas, and not all molecules are affected equally as anyone whos left metal in the microwave can tell you. This focused heat could break down molecules in a way that is otherwise unlikely to happen. I'm no crazy doomsdayer and ill keep using my phone, but I don't consider it a closed case at all.

    • @Adrian-uj8ub
      @Adrian-uj8ub 5 років тому

      - but are we not warm-blooded mammals? so, how would more heat in our blood hurt us?
      - also, microwave magnetic fields can't affect our DNA because the frequency is not high enough
      - how can the opposite also work, it is like saying that multiplying is the same as dividing
      I kinda only know a bit about this but I'm curious anyway to figure it all out and put the pieces together

  • @BrianFurios
    @BrianFurios 7 років тому +54

    Guys. He spoke only about the frequencies but not the emitted power. Let's take an easy example. Both our router or a microwave run at the same frequency (2.4Ghz) but how don't we get heat? Microwaves runs at 2.4Ghz yes but the power emitted is 700 - 1200 Watt which is so high compared to cellphones radio power or routers which by standard should not pass 100 mW (0.1 Watt! which is nothing compared to 800Watt of a microwave). Also the radiation of the router is not ionic which does not change DNA. The higher is the frequency though the most the wave can't pass through. (FM Radio can go further because of the lower frequency and can penetrate walls, trees etc). Lately 60Ghz wifi came out can it's been tested and can't be stopped by facing the opposite direction to stop the comunication between the router and the device so yes, 60Ghz do not pass through your body. For example the visible light, IR, work at so higher frequency that if you close the door the light do not pass through.
    However: If you have many antennas around your zone operating at 5Watt for example probably you will feel tired or sick sometimes due to the high power radiation, still nowadays we ARE NOT sure 100% if it causes cancer or not. Stay away from higher power directional antennas, they can affect you somehow.
    Sorry for the bad english, I tried to explain you guys something more about it.

      Tiberiu Axinte... The higher power levels do not make radiation ionizing. Ionizing radiation is a result of wavelength and it is that ionization that causes radiation injury which can lead to cancer. Ionizing radiation can have three effects, no effect, cell death or mutation. Cell death can lead to serious problems acutely but it is often just experienced as a burn, like a sunburn. Mutation can cause genetic variation that can be passed on or impact you directly. If it does the latter of can cause cancer. EMF becomes ionizing part way through the UV spectrum and higher frequencies. Output power just means more photons are emitted increasing the likelihood that one will hit something but it doesn't increase its energy; that is solely defined by its individual wavelength.

    • @bender7167
      @bender7167 7 років тому +3

      Also non - ionizing radiation does cause tissue heating. This heating in and off itself may cause tissue damage which may cause cancer but the methodology is different.

    Ionizing radiation causes direct damage to DNA and cells. Non-ionizing radiation (radio waves) causes damage to cells over longer periods of time. But they still cause damage! And this leads to oxidative stress. We are exposed to this 24/7. So our body has no change to fully recover from this. It builds accumulative.
    Think about it! Microwaves operate at about 2,4Ghz, same as wifi. Even tho microwaves operate at about 1000 Watt and wifi only at about 0,2 or 0,5 Watt it still causes cells to vibrate! It only means it will take longer for damage to occur but it STILL causes damage. It also vibrates DNA and over time this also can cause DNA breaks (instead of ionizing radiation which causes it directly)

    Frequency is a different kind of measurement with energy. One need to use particular formula to calculate energy from frequency.

      You really need to get educated on this subject. An electromagnetic wave with a frequency of 1 GHz has about 4.13*10^-12 mega electron volts of energy. An An electromagnetic wave with a frequency of 2 GHz has double that. Most mobile phone frequency bands are in the 1-2 GHz range.

    Pretending that something is true because it has not yet be proven wrong is an anti-scientific way to think. We know almost nothing about physics yet compared to what there might still be to be discovered. Saying that long term exposure to these radiotions is harmless is just speculations based on a very likely incomplete set of laws and parameters.

      Science gets things wrong all the time by either underestimating certain problems or simply not knowing about certain properties and interactions.
      Basically you have permanently glue your tin foil hat to your head to be safe.

    Some people go to the radio quiet zone because they are sensitive t electromagnetic waves which causes them mild or strong headaches. Of course most people luckily do not suffer from this as this is a rare condition.

    the main issue here is that cancer takes a really long time to develop, like longer than cellular reception or wifi have even existed so far. so theres really no way to definitively tell at this point
