Moscot is a brand from New York, but their eye/sunglasses are actually made in China. It's confirmed in magazine B in interview section, Joel Moscot stated that Moscot has a factory in remote part of China for more than 40 years that manufacture Moscot eye/sunglasses by hand, but all parts are made in Germany, France, and Italy. And finally all of outputs in China are sent to New York for final quality control test
The difference between the fake and the original is just the word ‘fake and original’

We can all agree pay for glasses 300 while you can by identical copy for 6$ yeah I bought it for $6 at 1st I was skeptical, but when I got glasses I was amazed by quality , I mean 6$ and I watched videos about fake vs original and I can tell more thing.. they compare orange with orange.. I don't why even think to pay 300 for glasses that cost to make 0.50 or even less.. I paid 6$ in the price included shipping from china! also they are resellers.. so imagine they sold it for 6$ minus shipping so what they got 4$ + taxes.. so for them left 3$ they paid fee as seller on website.. so they left with 2$ they bought from somewhere in China I think they paid 0.5 per glasses.. so imagine how much Moscot earn.. it is basically nonsense to even think to pay 300.. I would not even consider to pay 50 for originals I have $6 moscot glasses that looks like 99% identical.. no one could tell it is fake also I don't care if lose them.
There are huge variations in Lemtosh depending on the year, the older ones look inside exactly as those fake ones.

@@honestview I mean the lettering is the same, the metal inserts on the sides were also sharp in the older originals, and flat screws were used as well. To me, as far as I can see on the screen ( and I can not see clearly enough here, so may be mistaken), these are two Lemtosh produced by two different Chinese factories, and the tortoise ones look like a factory reject due to the sides being not flush. I just wanted to say that outside of the obvious cheap double fakes it's often not easy to tell a counterfeit Moscot, partly because as with many such products "fakes" are simply the items stolen from the same factory and flogged on eBay. Or indeed stolen rejects due to some defects. But you can't tell if a Lemtosh is fake or not by just looking at the inscriptions, as they wary wildly. I have the tortoise Lemtosh bought years ago in a Moscot shop and the lettering is exactly as on your fake ones.

i just bought my Lemtosh at the store in Amsterdam and can confirm the cardbox box is yellow-ish rather than grey scale. So opposite from what's in this video and I'm quite sure their official store doesn't sell fakes xD
Thank you for this! It's pretty alarming how good the fakes are getting these days. They're even better than when you made this 7 years ago. They've got the lettering nearly exact, except it's still painted on--not engraved into the resin stems. I almost got duped by current offerings available. It used to be that auction sites in Japan were really good at weeding out fakes, but apparently they've got them as well. All of the telltale signs you've shown here? Those listings have the same ones. You really have to be careful!

I bought a pair the Milton with the red frames because red pretty much goes with any combination of clothing colors.
I have my opinion, moscot is famous brand because of its famous castings like Johnny deeply mainly and others of Hollywood, but the brand does not own its own factory and is being dependent of China, China? That's right, that's right !, and that's where the fragility of the brand hangs, some may be perceived as bad replicas made and others could hardly be identified.
I could change it the other way round and you will not know if you weren't told which is the original.

Sadly original Moscot spirit Jasper frame I bought from NY Union Square is made in China too. It’s plastic not Italy acetate quality as one would expect. Very disappointed and had to return.

Bought an used lemtosh frame and i think it might be fake just because of the arrow thing, its pointy. That aside, it really looks original, its sturdy, no sharp edges, phillips head screw, flush sides and arrows, same letters and engraves than the original.
I bought the copies not realizing they were anything but a cheap repop of Tart Arnels. I figure if Ilike the cheap ones I'll buy the bigger buck real deals even if they are from China if I like my $50 specials in appearance.
If you want a real deal US pair of glasses, buy Shuron glasses, the Resir ZYL is almost unchanged since 1952. Just soft nose pads I believe. I bought Rensir ZYL glasses frames for around $100 from my optometrist from Shuron. Great glasses, classic look and still made in USA. No need to spend $170 for a pair of Chinese RayBans or Oakleys. Get the REAL DEAL - Shuron.
It seems to me just from photos that the nose pads are clear on the fakes and the same color as the frame on the real ones.
Moscot frames are made in China anyway. The markup on them is insane for what they are, in my opinion. I'm sure that what you have there are real Moscot frames, just factory seconds and not fakes.

I have original glasses and fake glasses. They don't have these differences. They look the same except for the color of the box (which basically goes into the trash).
I now buy only fakes, they are better quality than the originals

@@MJGS95 Yeah, I saw that, but it is not consistent, chose any other photo other than black or tortoiseshell... you will see the other colours don't have that number... mine doesn't, maybe its a new feature, maybe it is only on some... I only got the card in the box with a number.

Some things are right, but others are wrong, because there are updates on the brand, you make references in differences where you are old that version, is not there and take it easy, people can be very confused and kind of paranoid.

Maybe you should make a video of your own showing what great fakes you have.... or send me high quality pictures and I'll tell you where the flaws are.
They are both made in China, yeah sure there's definitely a difference in craftmanship but why pay the same amount and not go for Japanese hand made one? Makes zero sense to me to pay that much for marketing. When you handle high end brands that hand makes their frames in Japan and compare with this, you will be laughing at this cheap frame, no extensive knowledge of eyewear frames required.
Is the real made of Italian acetate? Diamonds? Gold? Real silver? Define cheap and fake? Plastic is plastic!

Moscot also uses flat head screws. I bought my pair direct from Moscot and they look more like your so-called counterfeit pair than the others. I think both pairs are legit.
I think you are wrong in that thinking... there are many versions of moscots; some come with flat/slotted screw, others with X/phillips screw... some have serial numbers on the left arm, some don't... but when you get a fake, it's quite noticeable honestly.

Nice one! But try googling “Tart Arnels” price and prepare to take out a mortgage. Then you have Moscots whom make quality but expensive glasses, and cheap chines knockoffs which really are quite bad quality, what you chose on your face and how much you think it is worth is up to you.
I'd buy a pair of Tart Arnels if I wanted real quality, If they're an everyday pair that I'm going to beat up, I'm buying Chinese replicas.
Yup. Always has been. Moscot makes it sound like they are the inventors of the classic "Boston" style frames. Tart and Shady Character are rolling in their graves.

The prices of glasses are expensive thanks to "luxottica" and obviously there is a markup for fashion, but I have my Moscots now for 2 years and they have seen some serious use (as I worked in construction), they have hardly a scratch on them, no rust, no bent or broken parts, as new still... so "Alfred o" keep your opinion to yourself before you try it for yourself.
The matter of fact is most of frames are of good quality these days. I don't wear "design brand", but what I use is a descent one. I don't work on construction, but I don't see how it make any different. No glasses get scratch on them just because they are used on a construction site. If there is no scratches, its not because of their superior quality. You of all should know that on a construction site you should be wearing safety glasses. If you have problem with people expressing their opinion, you can disable comments.

I have the glasses, Stress tested them and have been using them for a few years under heavy circumstances (and that whole thing of safety glasses is "bollocks mate" Dust, grinding debris and harsh conditions all around...my lenses are scratched but not the frames).
