1 week of puny hunting sounds good, i think it's a great idea to put your theory to the test. As an older player, I know that profiting is a thing as long as you know how to move your stuff around for markup, but, new players don't know and people think MA is stealing their money. You hunting a week of puny mobs should bring about the results that you mentioned. Good luck hunting Scotty, good to have you back with this amazing content! Keep it up
I think a week of berycled puny would be interesting. See how much % you get back as tt return too. Also, Unreal tokens dropping from them would be a game changer for a noob.
I think you've kind of inspired me here, I think what I may try to do is try to extend this experiment over a week or two, not running any kind of tracker just TT in TT out. Making sure not to recycle the shrapnel until the count is done. Even if the profit was slightly less than sweating, the skills you gain might still make it worth it. And of course if straight up hunting them can be worth it, then swunting them definitely is
Do the bery hunt ! These kinds of things are fun to do. I did something similar on Arkadia a few years back, and honestly, any newer play should consider doing this very thing and learn how the game works.
I've seen some pretty convincing numbers that have shown that even if perhaps weapon efficiency isn't a precise match to the algorithm for looter skill it's roughly in the ballpark. But that's actually a good thing, because it means there's no reason to feel super left out over not having a 90% efficient Uber weapon. Yeah it might make a couple percent difference but you would need to be cycling millions of pet before it started making anything like financial sense to do it. Be much better off to try to find some markup to make up for it on a lower cycle
Theory works if you stay off the auction. Auction fees is what kills the low level player when trying to sell small stacks. 1k Novas on the auction will only return 1.5ped of you put in on auction for 2ped.
I honestly don't believe that you could profit from even Exarosaurs with a 65% UL weapon and 40 animal looter [unless you could consistently get Unreal Tokens]. Even with the mark up assuming you even get a 95% tt return. The math and statistics to beat the MA returns thru MU [selling loots to other players] is insane. That being said I love these expirements and videos because if u test and play it will be ur only way of confirming theories, tracking returns and hopefully finding a crease in the hunting, mining, crafting markets.
sadly enough when i started the game awhile ago, i spend around 300 ped on hunting puny's, (caudatergus), after a good amount of cycles i was down to around 60 ped. most people that i met so far at camp icarus for an example are taking massive losses compared to what they put in so far. average is nice but it really depends on how it is calculated and mindark isn't clear about that, there are tons of ways to calculate a average, i hope they can eventually talk about median instead of average. ofc as a beginner i didnt play it smart and just started hunting, got a lot smarter now haha, issue for beginners is the following, if they have lets say 100 ped and hunt with it, and they have few terrible runs, the chances they are crushed for some time (assuming they dont deposit weekly and they hunt a lot) is really big, that type of player can now basically sweat for maybe 50-100 hours or whatever the lenght it takes to get back to such amount
The whole point to the video was a hypothetical based on available info and whether or not I should test that hypothetical. Do you think I should test it?
@@ScottyC93Official it should be a really good test yup im curious to your end result, and thanks for testing stuff like this im sure a lot of people will appreciate it including myself.
Yes, absolutely you should test it. I am very curious what your findings would be. Do you have any idea how many PED you would cycle through in a week?
I'm thinking of getting about 1000ped worth of ammo and then just going ham. Track it all and see what happens by the end of a week. It should be around 20,000 kills, if i do the whole 1000ped. It should be an interesting test.
You're doing the calculation wrong. Your expected return is 95% of the total amount cycled and the shrapnel returned is part of that figure. If you recycle all the shrapnel from your original 100 PED investment, your total PED spent will be a multiple of that amount. Thus, your expected loss is 5% of that number, which is considerably more than 5 PED. So at the end of that kind of run, assuming the loot pool only contains shrapnel, muscle oil and fragments, you will be left with a much smaller stack of oil than 95 PED on average.
The calculation was based off of MA saying, and i am paraphrasing here, that people in the long run will see a return on average of around 96%. I used the 100PED as a scaled down version to make it easier to understand. If the 96%ish thing is true, then after cycling all of your shrapnel (Add whatever amount you want, its just an example.) the long run return of 96%ish, once all of the shrapnel is used, then it should all be optimal loot. Which in this case would be oil and nova fragments. The idea is, if my long run end return is 95% of what I spent, no matter how much was cycled in the long run. If all of that return is in oil and fragments, then based on the mark up one should be able to profit. At least that is the concept that I want to look into anyways. Though I do believe I understand your thought pattern and it is something I will be keeping an eye on as well. And who know, we might both learn something cool from it. Thanks for your input mate, it is well appreciated :)

you should get about 1 ped in weapon decay for every 107.52 ped of ammo used with the z12

You can absolutely make a little profit hunting low level mobs.
You should make a series where you only low level hunt.

I had a super low dexterity and brought it up a ton in a single day. The immediate thing i noticed was that i got a better loot mix
Now that is an interesting observation.
You are the hero of wasting PED test we need xD but for real. They drop UE tokens?!
Yeah they do, Its why I feel more comfortable testing it. And I don't mind potentially wasting PED for the fun of testing things :)
I'm curious to see how that goes!
this is a good ol' Scotty video. Friggin love it. 😁 10/10

There was an upload issue with the previous one.
Yeah do it bro. I have done it before with high eff. It works and is pure profit. Would be great to see you do the same.
thats a "yes" from me Amigo!
Im F2P and would like to see your numbers re the Bery hunting

Live Stream Puny Hunt!!!!!!!
That could be a fun idea!
you run so fast bro :D
Yo like rainbow poop
96%? 70. And that's even with maximum efficiency. I understand it's a casino model and the house always wins, but damn do they take a lot.
I tend to see 95% as my average.
Though thats after cycling alot of mobs.
@@ScottyC93Official Oh and, Yes, test it 🙂
A week hunting punies? I hope you are prepared to lose 100 PED
So thats a no from you. got it.
Unless thats a sarcastic way of saying yes.
115ped cautagerus puny spring 2024 - azuro (L) + b101 amp @ camp icarus
Do it XD
I love your channel avatar XD ramen eating panda ftw
@@ScottyC93Official haha thanks man, and it is a gif... so sometimes in platforms like my gmail, or maybe google docs it is moving ^^
