Make Over - an easy Garden - for a non gardener!

- Filmed over 20 years ago… This video sees Bunny makes over her younger sister’s small London garden with a firm brief: low maintenance, easy, hide the neighbours and a place to entertain that is easy on the eye. The initial weedy patch surrounded by old larchlap panels, and on view to the house it backs onto. Bunny uses home made trellis, fake doors with a trompe l’oeil to create the feel of ‘extra ‘ space, removes the grass and creates a simple paved garden.

Loved this makeover - how about a video showing the garden now in 2023? Please Bunny!!
She’s probably moved a few times since owning this house .
She became a drunk, accidentally set the house on fire and the garden was destroyed. On the up side it’s now entirely maintenance free.

I love this, can we see an update?
I'm no Bunny, but this brief between Bunny and her sister is so similar to a lot of conversations I have with family. 😅
What a change! My favorite part was when you called your sister a toad. I would like to see what it looks like now but I bet she moved. Another great video Bunny. Thank you.
Love everything but especially the door at the back of the garden and the fineals.
What a terrific way to disguise a long, thin garden behind a Victorian Row House. It looks so chic and in keeping with the style of the house. The faux back gate and trellis surround do so much for the space. Your sister is lucky to have you yo help her, but I did have to laugh. Just like my sister, left to her own devises, there is a patch of weeds and not much else.
You are very gracious Bunny. I hope your Sister can make the time to stop and smell the roses.
The trees completely changed the space. Before, your sister's garden was like a fish bowl. Now, I don't notice the neighbor's house behind her at all. Beautiful transformation!
Beautiful transformation for your sister Bunny 💚💚💚 would love to know how she got on with it! Xx
What a stunning transformation! ~ that certainly is a beautiful cohesive trellis structure, wonderful paving and ingenious planting. As a gorgeous classic design, it is timeless and would enhance any garden today, 20yrs on. Sofia is lucky to have you as her sister Bunny :)
An amazing transformation… I wonder what it looks like now?
Yes, definitely need an update, even if you have to knock on the door if there are different owners! We need to see what twenty years has done. Beautiful transformation. Love the use of lighter trellis on the darker solid fencing.
This was so beautiful and incredibly helpful Bunny! Love this transformation!
What about setting up a drip system on a timer? All she has to do is turn the faucet to get it going? BEAUTIFUL garden!!
Maybe there's no outside tap
Phenomenal make over! Maybe, your sister will come to appreciate gardens more after she learns to enjoy this one.
Lovely video! I was waiting to see how the garden looks now at the end :) It would be amazing find out how it looks after 20 years (or even 10) and was it enough low maintenance for your sister?
So sophisticated and elegant, love your style!
Wow, great transformation! Your sister is pretty. It would be nice to see an update. It’s normal not to look perfect over many years, life happens. Would especially like to see how the cute trees look now. Wonder how tall they are.
Fantastic ideas. I love the fence with climbers on it.
I love your sister 😂😂😂😂. Wouldn’t life be soooo boring if we were all the same.
We all have that one same sibling who doesn't care about gardening or plants 😂
or seems dead inside?
I second all the commenters requests to see the garden now! Even if Bunny's sister no longer lives there, perhaps the current owners might be pleased to show off the garden?
Lovely job….very elegant!
Fantastic work!🎉
Haha love how different Bunny and Sofia. One completely in the family tradition of horticulture and the other rebelling against it
Re. her garden; if someone can afford a place like that in London, they can get a gardener in for a half day a week to do all that needs doing to keep it looking great.
Absolutely beautiful!❤
The garden was lovely, particular the Photinia Trees, I do hope they survived 😊
Loved this makeover and everything you do. Lovely
Aw man, what a lucky lady to have Bunny as her sister! I too live in London & need Bunny for my sis!!!😂
Brilliant garden!❤
Really gorgeous!
What a fantastic makeover. So cleaver.
What a great video!
Love it, adorable
Hello dear 🖐
How are you doing today?
Brilliant Bunny, I am planning similar to create a sheltered sitting / entertaining space. No neighbours over looking me.
Beautiful garden!!
Funny and informative. Thanks
The implacable talented Bunny hard at work with a bit of a wet blanket - come on sister Sophia you better water that garden once a week and give your sister a big smile and a high five - you'll see it'll be well worth it.
What a charming space!
That’s a fantastic job! Well done 👍
Utterly delicious...
Stunning transformation!
I wish you were my sister...
Very beautiful! Good job!
OMG! Genius.
Love it
I wish someone would hijack my backyard and fill it will high end stonework and mature trees and shrubs!
It's beautiful! I'm glad she is your sister because otherwise I found her to be very unappreciative.
Love this!! Please come to my house in Texas!! What kind of outdoor mirrors did you use?
💪
Did she take care of it Bunny?
Hello dear 🖐
How are you doing today?
beautiful garden in a small space - I love clematis. But watching from Australia, I always cringe when I see ivy planted - it is such a curse in my small regional town. Has the fashion for it changed after 20 years, or does it not become a massive pest in the UK?
It's native to UK. Invasive to places other than Europe.
don't have a lot of hope for regular watering with this one.
I'm sorry, this shall not last long. Give your sister a concrete garden with a rock in the corner. As with all of your work, this is beautiful. I just don't believe your sister shall ever invest any time in caring to appreciate your skill and talent.
Hire a gardener once a week or every two weeks.
What a rude client to deal with. You are offering your incredible knowledge, just asking for an hand which can help the client to invest interest in her garden then, she turned you down for a working appointment 😮
Sisters, eh!
Not ivy!!! Noooo!
sounds like she wants something nice without doing any work, I bet it fell in disrepair right away, she seemed too lazy to take care of anything, and didn't even want to help put it together. I'd of left her mid-way with the mess.
Have you ever had a real client that was so down on gardening? She seemed so opposed to every aspect. I found this to be sad.
Right? She seems incredibly intimidated and convinced every plant she touches will die. Ironically, all they want is a drink of water and they'll thrive!
I don’t know why anyone plants ivy. It is so invasive and will overtake the entire garden in no time. Such a destructive plant. It chokes out & kills everything including trees.
God her sister is a bit negative. How hard can it be to water some plants.🙄
