That Yamamoto grab to save his dome was one of the most memorable plays I've ever seen.
It was jaw dropping!
@@enshk79 Almost jaw removing!
Until I saw this clip, my understand was that The Matrix is a fictional movie, and Neo was not present among us....
@@HenryGup Ha, now that you mention it, his movements while making the grab are very much like the bullet time Neo stuff in the first film. 😄
imagine next year, you re hitting aginst yamamoto, studying him, then its ohtani after and youre like "shit god damit" AND THEN a good chane roki sasaki joins ohtani and yamamoto in blue later. Dodgers looking great for the next few years
and then you gotta pitch against ohtani freeman and betts
USA Yamamoto is elite. Just dont let him pitch in Korea
Ninja actually broke this down, long story short the dodgers said Yamamoto was tipping his pitches so they had him move his glove placement which messed up his mechanics. He went back to his old glove placement and jus had him keep the webbing of his glove out instead.
@@SnipeyGaming glad they caught it! He just needs some more minor adjustments (like not throwing middle middle in an 0-2 count) and he'll end up being a top 10 pitcher imo
Very good analysis on Yamamoto.
I hope he or people in his organization watches this and let him know if he still isn't aware of it.
His fastball vertical movement and horizontal movement are down from elite (18 and 14) to an average 13.9 and 8. That's the difference between an elite and average fastball. They 100% are aware and fixing this. Just wait until he gets his fastball back
100% will be the best Moment of Zen for the entire year😂
The Yamamoto pick-up will go down as one of the more prescient moves in baseball. His mechanics and control are almost perfect. I expect to see him in the Cy Young conversation every year until he retires.
Great to have you back ninja… I love having Will on every day… It’s a great dynamic… Keep it rolling. And for the love of God, teach him how to create a background!!😂
There’s only ONE Pitching Ninja!
Yamamoto has been wild in the zone. I think could benefit from elevating his fastball to tunnel along with that curve.
“Walkus interruptus”! 😂😂🤣
The thing that caused Yamamotos recent success is due to the fact that he is AWESOME! Seriously though, that’s the difference between average pitchers and great ones. The truly great ones know how to adjust. The great ones pitch. They don’t throw. Anyone can learn to throw. Hell I can throw. But few know how to pitch. And more times than not a great Pitcher usually doesn’t throw hard. They locate. That’s one’s reason I’m excited about Assad with my Cubs. He’s gonna be great because he doesn’t throw very hard, but he knows how to locate and change speeds based on a 90-93 mph fastball.
His fastball had 18inches vertical movement and 14 horizontal, which is elite. He is down to 13.9 and 8 in the MLB, that's average. Just wait until he gets his normal fastball back. Him not being used to the lack of movement is probably also causing the balls thrown through the middle.
@@m.o.5291Yep. Going into yesterday the league was hitting like .370 on his fastball, and he’s still been very very good. Remove Korea his era is prob low 2’s. I’m lifelong Doyer fan, I couldn’t be much happier with his start. He battles too, great make up.
Edit: I wrote this at the beginning of the vid. Haha. Swear not just parroting the Ninja.
@@farmerlarbear2244 yeah and when the fastball regains it's elite shape just wait what happens. He will be a monster. He's already finding ways to be good without it. Man he's a good pitcher
@@m.o.5291 I can’t wait til the staff is healthy. Got Stryker,Kersh,Dmay,Gonso, etc on IL. That’s a helluva rotation right there when they’re at their best. The pitching may get to be as dominant as the lineup
The reason he had issues in Korea is because they had him hold his glove close to his chest which changed his pitching delivery and just didn't work for him.
Nah. His fastball in Japan had 18inches vertical and 14 inches horizontal movement. In the MLB it's been 13.9 and 8. That's going from an elite fastball to an average one. Plus he isn't used to the shape of it, that's a recipe for location mistakes
I went over that too ua-cam.com/video/cgGS8x65SGE/v-deo.html
@@m.o.5291Seems irrelevant since his era is 2.00 since that first start. All that matters.
@@SweetZombiJesus ofcourse it's relevant to know that he's a good pitcher who figured out quickly how to work around his fastball being less dominant. His fastball becoming elite again will help him be more dominant or at least maintain.
Maaaan the Sox catching a stray IMMEDIATELY 😭
yeah didn't see any of that darting sinker stuff with soroka and velo is down. he was fortunate not to get crushed really
Nice!! Nasty!!! ⚾⚾⚾
@pitchingninja please look at his fastball data. A totally different pitch now. In Japan it had 18 inches vertical and 14inches of horizontal armside movement. In the mlb he's down to 13.9 and 8. That's going from elite to average. Lance Bronkowski has a great video on his Japan data. Thats where I found out. He's probably throwing them through the middle because he isnt used to the shape it currently has at all, plus it not being elite at the moment makes mistakes problematic. I dont think the ball size has had this effect on other japanese pitchers so im sure he'll figure it out. Id be curious to hear your thoughts
Yep--I think that has a good bit to do with it. Honestly all pitchers are different and adjust differently. When I talked with Senga, he mentioned he had a tough time adjust to the ball when it came to some of his pitches but eventually figured it out (his hands pretty big tho). I'm positive Yamamoto will make needed adjustments either altering his pitch mix, location or getting used to the ball. But he's certainly a great pitcher and will adapt.
might have commented 5times hoping you'd see since it's so interesting. The info from Senga is encouraging. I'd guess the big ball could easily cause the spin angle to be slightly off. And I'm sure you're right, he's very good and will fix the issue. I don't think he will have to make do with an average fastball for much longer.
I hope Soroka can get back to what he was. I loved him in ATL. And the white Sox have to find a way to win 50
The Day of the Sweeper edition
I wonder if the A’s🐘 are going to trade Mason Miller😤 on the deadline and if the Dodgers are going to luckily snag him!!🧐💙
goddamn austin barnes can frame
He’s a great receiver. Don’t know the numbers, but I think Smith has improved immensely past couple yrs. He has Barnsey to thank for that. Love the Dodgers catchers. Will Smith already has four 4 hit games this yr. And has taken 4-5 games off. Hes such a beast.
*Y A M A M O T O*
Same adjustment as Senga. Low fastball to disguise as splitter. Splitter high to disguise as out of zone fastball…though he don’t need that because he does that with his curve
🥷🥷🥷
If you burn the jersey, they will come...😂
Third
Wood this Deep LOL
Is Yamamoto considered elite as of now? I kind of think he hasn’t performed to the level of the expectations people have based on his J League performance. Any opinion people?
so stop throwing fastball down the middle, seems obvious
5:03 ~
Yamamoto is great! It just seems like the Padres have a good read on him. That's the only team that's banged him up this year.
I really loved when Yamamoto threw an eye level heater and then followed it up with his yoyo curve in the zone for a backwards k. That sequence was rly fun to watch. I wonder if he'll mix that in from time to time to make keep hitters off his curve the same way hes working the bottom of the zone with the FF and Split!
It's nice as an A's fan that Miller brings some positive attention to the team and gives us something to talk about that isn't off-the-field shenanigans.
Why is your team playing some decent ball this year
@@canaanlocke4375 🤷♂️🤷♂️but I'll take it!
brent rooker hits nukes
@@matthewhernandez5078 you right about it
Until trade deadline
I really hope Mason Miller goes to a better team.
Yamamoto with the definition of a 'ninja snag'!
Hmm Yamamoto as a ninja, we could call him Pitching Shinobi
I know its just a matter of time before my A's trade Mason the Madman Miller away, but im truly enjoying watching him close our games. I just hope we get an epic haul in the trade!
Want him with Boston our bullpen has blown so many games
they deserve it but knowing the A's they're going to trade him away for free
Mamayoto going to win itall for l.a 💙🤍
Why does Mason Miller looks like Elon Musk?
In fairness, Mason Miller IS electric.
Double White Castle special is a Harold and Kumar.
So happy I got skubal and ragans for fantasy
Yamamoto's 96mph fastball drops like it's 92mph without lateral movement. He has no spin rate or extension so his fastball looks so much slower to the hitter.
He's got 6.6 feet of extension...which is more that Gerrit Cole.
Seems like Pitching Ninja has been giving Justin Verlander beard advice.
LOL--we're tight.
Mason Miller's fastball isn't just fast, but it holds its plane and even rises. That's how he's so nasty
Love watching him throw I was really high on him last year
Miller is fantastic but I want to see Ercegs nasty upper 90s sinker on here soon.
Ok, I got my wish. Lol
1 view in one minute you fell off
haha devers was SHOOK
