    I’m turning into an Ophelia Soap collector! I journal the soaps, i use them until they disappear into nothing and sob as they leave my world hoping that some day they will be recreated. I just love your creations! :))

      ME TOO! I’ve literally been fighting off a panic attack for the last hour or so and as soon as I started watching this video everything went away… I never realized what it was before but I think you’re right it’s just how perfect everything is that’s super calming.

    This was one of the most relaxing things I think I've ever watched on UA-cam, and it was beautiful! If it smells half as beautiful as it looks, you have a customer for life.

    That spoon textured top, that spoon textured top! I just love that! The colors always pop and fit the design of the bars which ALWAYS fit the fragrance! You're very good Julie and if you don't know by now, you should :) As they say today, "You got this!" Keep creating you inspire us all! One day, you should open a studio somewhere (or online classes) and TEACH this! hmmmmm.....just me thinking to myself again :) Another beautiful bar.....Much respect...soapy hugz from the desert state!

      I was wondering how well it worked! What temp do you get the lye to and how is it heated up? I am sure I can Google it but there are so many different opinions and ideas I never know which to listen to. (I am very new to this.)

    How do you keep the top layers fluid enough to pour when the bottom layer is already hardened? Is that water that you add to the pitchers to thin it out? If so, how do you know how much water to add? Newish soapmaker here :)

    • @OpheliasSoapery
      @OpheliasSoapery  3 роки тому

      No it was the fragrance oil.
      I try not to over stick blend in the beginning. The more blending you do the faster the batter will thicken up. Mixing colors in with a whisk or just hand stirring will work.
      So if you’re making a layered color soap. You could stick blend the first layer a little more so it will be set up enough for the next layer so it doesn’t go through. If that makes sense.. 😂

    • @OpheliasSoapery

      I’ve actually been getting it recently. If I don’t have any botanicals on the soap I’ll wash the top while it’s in the mold. And let it dry before I cut it.
      I use a water discount and force gel. That is supposed to help with it. :/

    • @OpheliasSoapery
      @OpheliasSoapery  4 роки тому +1

      I try not to over stick blend. It could be your stick blender too. Some are more powerful than others. I never bring my soap to trace. Just right before. As long as it’s reached emulsion you’re good. Also if you soap at cooler temperatures (80° or so) that will help too.
