Im so bored with the new releases. The same old matte formula lips, or lip oils. Eyeshadows with colors that are not sophisticated . All matte or heavy glitter is so easy to produce. Very few brands can create an almost creamy satin eyeshadow in soft , muted colors in neutral "tone" (not cool and not warm)

Rebecca, the hair. I love it! I agree with the comment that all you need is red lipstick and you are all set. Nars isn't reinventing the wheel. A think for someone who needs an easy matte and reasonable price.

I’m just glad st. Paul De Vence isnow a permanent quad. It was the color story on this year’s lunar quad and I was so sad it was limited edition becuse it’s my most versatile quad from Nars yet! I could do cutesy, barely there, smokey eye looks and it’s now here to stay ❤

I like the neutral eyeshadow quads that NARS has come out with, but I’m with you as to having at least one shimmer shadow in the palette. I just received information from NARS on the new With Love collection, which has a light reflecting blush, eyeshadow quad and lavender brightening setting powder that really look pretty. The names of the eyeshadows are Osaka 1, ll, Ill and lV, and the blush is a light peach called Sex Appeal(of course!). lol I would love to see what these beauties look like on you!

I don't wear all matte looks, but I do like to have some all matte palettes to mix with my other palettes. I use the Viseart neutrals palettes all the time, but I also want a cooler all matte palette.

They all looked beautiful on you Elson made your teeth look so white! If i was going to purchase one id get Divine Rose but i probably wont be purchasing or the Nars eyeshadows they’re lovely but nothing special and yes i love my comforts too 😊

Great point about only wanting comfortable products after trying them. I couldn’t tell you the last time I bought a traditional lipstick formula. I don’t think I ever bought a liquid lipstick but have tried them in samples. Glosses and balms for me!

As for Nars, back in the day, I loved the quads and duos. They seemed to have disappeared in favour of other warmer multi-pans which seemed so similar to each other. So, I strayed to YSL quads and love them. Will I go back to Nars Maybe. For travel. But, it makes me sad for reasons that elude me. Nostalgia? Not sure.

wow, I must say the red looks amazing on you! It’s very chic and sophisticated!! I do love a bright lip in either red or a perfect pink but it is not part of my every day. I don’t mind a long wearing lippie but it’s more an occasional than e eye day for me. This PML release is screaming snoozefest. I need something more from her.
I can’t do a fussy lip every day. It just makes me too crazy and too anxious about it running and getting on my face etc.

I was snoozing on the PML lipstick launch but then I saw Lexi Jong review them and I ordered almost half of the colors. I think these will be easy to put on since it’s a liner and lipstick in one. And you have the option of wearing them in a light blurred way or full opacity like you did so beautifully with the Elson shade. Love the that color on you next to your hair with that bob cut. Fire 🔥 NARS has lost me a few years ago when I realized I never reach for any of their palettes in my drawer. So passing on those but I see their use being quite convenient for travel definitely. There are so many exciting releases coming that I get tunnel vision and snooze on everything else. Like YSL’s new quads. Hopefully we will see them release in the US soon ❤

I love Nars eyeshadow formula, but I don’t buy many palettes from them. I will be a new one every couple of years or so. The Skin Deep has always been my favorite Nars palette. I’m sure it’s long past its best date, but I still pull it out occasionally. Not super excited about the PM lip products either. They appear to be lovely products just not a must have right now. I’m so excited for the new shades in the YSL quads. I want 710!

I like the tones in both of the NARS palettes. The only thing holding me back is that I have shades like them 5 times over. It’s not a deal breaker for me if I love the formula etc, but it means it’s not a “snap it up right now” thing.
I’m sure I’d love the Pat lip crayons because I love lip crayons in general, but I’m not rushing out for these. I’m sure I’ll get one eventually to try, but as a release it feels a little bit sleepy to me. Elson 6 looks fabulous on you!!!

The Nars pallettes are really pretty, like you say, but I never buy them. Today, I bought an Adept pallette and I'm waiting for a Sydney Grace one as well. Last week I got some from Glamnetrix - I find the indie brands fun and sparkly and just more interesting 🙂

I care about the Nars matte quad. That Mario palette has been bouncing in and out of my cart for awhile now, but I know I would only use half the shades. I was hoping to see a good matte quad come out with all tones being useful to me.

I care. I would travel with that little matte eyeshadow palette and throw a little highlighter on top. The lip crayons - meh….but I already have a lot of lipsticks right now. Thanks for another great video!

I’m a little interested in the PML lip pencil because sometimes I find it hard to get a non-squiggly lip line and the larger size may be easier. It would probably be nice for people with larger lips too. Ilia also just came out with something like that. Regarding the Nars, if I hadn’t just bought Mario’s new matte palette I would be lusting after this I’m sure. If the packaging were a more fun limited edition color I would probably want it too.

I have the NARS St Paul de Vence Quad because I believe it is a repromote from the Lunar New Year Collection this year . It is my go to travel palette. Personally I prefer the Limited Edition packaging which is glossy plastic instead of the rubberized matte one (it always end up being very sticky and messy no matter what 🙊🙈). That being said, if I didn't already have 10 different brown eyeshadow palettes in my collection I might consider the Koh Rong one (still hate the rubberized packaging so it's a no for me). I have extremely oily eyelids so the "powdery" aspect of the eyeshadow helps mitigate the oiliness. Can't comment on the PML, it is unavailable where I live.

I bought three of the PML Lip pencils and really like them: Divine Rose, Mauvemoiselle, and Belle Amour - the three cool ones. I will probably pick up the Koh Ron quad, but was hoping to get it at Sephora vs. NARS and I don’t see it there yes.

I'm going to assume you're genuine. This is part of what I like about Rebecca's videos. I don't always have time to plan and really carefully apply a look so it gives me a really good idea of if the products are too much hard work for me or not.

I ordered three colors of the PML. I was super curious. I haven’t been interested in NARS eyeshadow for a while. I’m just a fan of their lip formulas currently. But it’s always nice to get your thoughts. 🎉
Their eye formula used to throw me and it doesn’t as much anymore so I do agree with you
I think the St. Paul de Vence quad is the same one they used in their Lunar New Year quad with the red case, isn't it? I actually really like that one for my fair complexion - most eyeshadows tend to be too saturated for me. The other quad looks to me like a more wearable version of the Makeup by Mario cool neutral matte palette (but less highly pigmented and in what I think is a better formula), and so I am a little interested in that. The PML Permagel lip pencils contain Teflon and these new pencils do not, and so if they seem the same to you, then that is kind of an accomplishment for them. Presumably all this stuff will be available good discounts at some point in the foreseeable future, which would make it more interesting for people, maybe.

I was not interested in the lip pencils until your review lol. The reason is because I absolutely love her lip liners (I use them as a long wear lipstick). The koh rong matte palette I’ll get only when it’s 30% off.. not too exciting but neither is my makeup 😂

I did care!! I didn’t realize that cooler toned palette was all matte. 😑. Nars rarely make any palettes in cool tones and non pink and red. I look forward to their palette releases hoping for something different. I love nars satins! I would have bought that palette if it were satins. I already have a HG matte palette Danessa Myricks Groundwork.

Oh my goodness, the comment about “lycra” is so true - I’d only wear yoga pants if my precious Lycra was taken out of my jeans… or pants… or shirts… or dresses.. ok, I’m addicted to stretch - but really, nothing fit well to my body till stretch came into fabrics - it’s a miracle
Doesn’t or didn’t NARS have crayon lipsticks? - I moved 5 years ago and just found a ton of NARS crayons that may be about 8-10 + years old 😅,- I only wore those for years and thought they were a miracle as far staying on my lip line - I was young back then, so I only had like *one* line on my lip, but still, there weren’t a lot of choices back then … those crayons were cool - but now I’m spoiled by all the new types of lipsticks. So a crayon is … oh hum 💤
We are all spoiled by comfort now. I used to ENDURE painful feet, rigid jeans, belts, tailored fits. Now? NO THANK YOU! Oh yes, the Nars lip crayon is indeed an oldie but a goodie.

LOL you're so funny, Rebecca. But I'm not interested in NARS, not interested in PMG either. Honestly, luxury makeup is a bit behind me because I'm happy with purchasing daily makeup for a lot less. It's the color makeup that I have fun with and will spend on for the pigmentation.

I am not into matte looks. I only like Merit matte lipstick, so these ones are a pass for me. I don’t think I will keep an eye on the NARS either to see if it goes on sale for the same reason 😅
Money saved is always a good thing!
NARS quads. The concept is fine, and the shades are pretty. Makeup wearers always need some basics. People who are new to makeup, but also those who need replacements for their sadly discontinued staples.
The NARS problem is 80% price, 20% contrast. If these had an exceptional formula they might be worth $52. But they don't seem that special, so a YSL quad, a Tilbury palette or a Denona mini or midi palette makes more sense to me. Also, I want every palette to have a pale shade, a matte medium and a dark shade. These NARS quads don't provide a light enough shade. A compact quad is no help if I need another palette to complete one look.
PMG lip crayons look nice. I'm not the biggest fan of sheer glossy lip products that don't necessarily stay looking great for long enough. They seem to migrate, wear off and catch hair strands on me. I have a feeling we'll rediscover the pleasure of lightweight, polished, comfortable lipsticks someday. Or no?

I think I am the anomaly. I love an all-matte palette and an all-matte look. I do have a few pretty sparkle shades, but I use those on their own as a one and done look. I am boring 😅

I wish you could enlighten us on “what happened to NARS?” someday. I used to love them back in the day. They took chances. They pioneered stuff. I mean, the Connor Tingley collab with them in 2019? Genius… I loved that palette, and his drawings of tortured faces on the packaging referring to the torture of beauty? ART! Oh and of course the Climax palette? A flag planted in the ground for the whole cool-toned revolution army!! So what happened? Now it is sooooooooo damn boring. The crossroads of beauty/art/commerce, it’s apparently a dangerous corner indeed.

The NARS palettes don’t do a thing for me. I have all of those shades in other palettes. Actually I have a Kevyn Aucoin Eye Contour Palette that is pretty small in light. It contains 3 taupe brown shades that are pretty neutral with 3 shimmer shades. None of which are really toppers. It’s been my go to travel palette. It can be applied with fingertip or a brush. I love to add a bit of sparkle to wake up my eyes. I think it’s hard for companies to continually bring out something innovative. So they just bring out “new” to try to remain relevant. The Pat McGrath lip crayons are interesting but I really wish she had put them in a plastic wind up tube. I hate messing about with sharpeners. I love that Elson shade. But, I think it’s too much for me. It looks very sexy on you. ❤

Nah to the Nars eyeshadow quads. Boring and too expensive for what they are. I love matte shades, especially in my crease, and sometimes my browbone. So, for my matte shades, I put 9 different colors (transition shades) in a small SG palette, to use with my Pat McGrath Mothership palette, as there isn’t enough transition shades in the 2 Motherships that I have, so this works really well. But, like you, I love my metallics, shimmers, & duo chrome shades on my lids, and also on the inner corner. The only way I would wear a matte on the lid, is if it were a unique shade, light, and rich.
I like the PM lip pencils, she always have nice colors, and will check these out.

4:25 my views are yawn fest and for that price I'd rather get a CT quad. NARS to me should be priced just under CT but higher than drugstore.

You are not on your own… I don’t tend to wear all matte and the colors in the first palette are more me but need shimmer in at least one of these shades. The peachy one has a little bit but not my colors or anything special. PM lip crayons look nice. I had picked up an Ilias one a few weeks ago which I think was a bit more waxier which I wear with something on top. These could be good as a little creamy. Bottom line, meh. I think the point you make is each brand is kinda of following each other, not very innovative or interesting.
Exactly. And I think the public is getting a bit jaded. But when something is outrageously unique, we aren’t terribly sure what to do with it. Haha.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Yes, that’s true. Unique is good but creative things can lead to ridiculous too. But I guess to some, might be their vibe. But when it’s ready good, I think you see that for the most part. I think there’s nothing being boring, or shall I say predictable, but only when it’s predictability good.

Ho Hum,🙄 to both I am so disappointed by both artists. They used to be so creative and I am finding they and many other artists are just doing their "collections" for the money.
I think they are definitely playing it safe. I agree.
