Squatting illegally in somebody's home, should be classified as a felony, with a minimum five-year prison sentence.
5 years ? These people would suffer from lead poisoning when I got home .
Three hot and a cot.
Squat free in the federal prison.
And yet, Ron DeSantis has allowed it to continue for this long, this has been covered multiple times before in the past, but people have been begging him to help them while he has done nothing all!! All he's doing is playing up his image and talking about how he fought against Disney. Yeah, Disney is bad, but there are bigger problems that a lot of people have that they've been begging for help, and he's ignored them!!
Ron DeSantis is not ready to be president. Donald Trump or Vivek Ramaswamy are the only Real choices.

Florida is a mess
New York and There is a major problem there as well. They need to do something. I have a squatter in my family home, and its expensive and timely process… landowners should have more rights.
Someone tried that with one of my rental houses. I walked in and put a gun in their face. Gave then 10 seconds to vacate or there will see dead people in my house. They ran out the door like greased lighting.
And then you woke up.

I was technically a squatter for about a month after a foreclosure. I had some financial difficulties and couldn't make the mortgage and the house was foreclosed. The new owner, well, the bank, wanted me out. I ended up getting served papers to be sued. I called the law firm representing the bank. The lawyer was very nice to me on the phone. I simply told him, "Look, I have a place to go, but I need a couple more weeks and I will be out of here." He responded back by saying, "No problem, take a month if you need it." I said, "All I really need is a couple weeks." He said, "Tell you what, if you leave by x date, we will drop the suit against you." I said, "Sure thing", and thanked him for giving me a little extra time and not getting the police involved. I of course left a week before his deadline; sure enough, the bank dropped the suit against me.
Time to CHANGE THE FREAKING LAWS to hold these squatters responsible for their theft of property ....
Try this in my home and the squatters will have serious accidents...
If I came home from vacation and found someone living at my place, I'd be going to jail.
Nothing a shotgun and a German Shepard couldn't solve.

our society has went right down the toilet, when the law abiding has no protection and the crooks have all the protection why have laws. Maybe we need to let the public take care of their own property in any manner they deem fit with no consequences, maybe we could get rid of a lot of the riffraff we have in this country
Yeah I have no problem sticking my gun in the face of someone trying to steal the home I worked hard for
How much more are people willing to put up with?! These squatters need to be dealt with. If the law will not do their jobs then take matters into your own hands! Maybe when enough bodies start piling up laws protecting homeowners will change. Or people start moving into the homes of city officials and politicians.
There's one quick way to find out if the squatters with the fake deed are telling the truth or not and I'm surprised nobody's thought of doing this.
Three ways actually.
First, look at the county CAD property search. If you type in the street address it will pull up all legal info on a property. It shows who the current home owner is, who the last home owners were all the way to the first purchase. It's how you can find out how much was paid for a home, how much it's appraised at, and all the details of what's in it (like a listing), if it's been remodeled, and what school district it's in. This is how I contacted the owner of the duplex I was living in about 20 years ago to complain about the property management company. This company was doing sketchy stuff and not addressing maintenance issues. I got my neighbor to sign a letter I wrote them detailing what was going on to see if they wanted to step in before we took the company to court to make sure we got our deposits back.
Second, where's the bill of sale? There should be some type of agreement for selling a home, because they have to pay taxes on it when it changes hands.
Third, look up the taxes paid on the home. This is in that CAD property search. Depending on the date on the deed will depend on if they should have paid yearly taxes on the property. And it will show what the value was at the "time of sale". Or it should. Some counties do theirs a little different.
Great job, Joe, keep bringing them over.
I come home and find someone in my house, they will be removed by me, regardless of any fake documents they claim to have. Period.

So if a home invader simply walks in and throws you out of your house and then declares he is squatting, what happens? What is the timeline where a home invasion becomes a squat?

Homeowners should grow a pair. They have the right to do whatever is necessary to immediately remove trespassing thieves by any means necessary in my book. Give them free rent 6 feet down in the back yard.
Squatters should get at least 6 months in jail.
Give them a home, jail!
If I could, Id start a top notch business where homeowners can pay agents to house sit for them. Elite only in how the agents are trained like ninjas to protect the house. Like retired cops or military veterans? Just an idea. Or put in electric fences.
I work and live overseas and have a house in Florida that's unoccupied. I hired someone to look after my home. This person cleans the house, checks the mail and supervises any improvements I make to the house. It costs me some money but it's totally worth it.
Or you could just rent the house you don't live in
@@DesertScorpionKSA If I had enough money to own a house I did not live in, I would chose Florida as well?
@@Cupid-Stunt It's my primary residence in the US. I have a homestead on the property to keep my property taxes low. I bought it in 2016 and the value of the home has almost doubled. When I go home for vacation, I stay there and will move back when I'm finished with my contract overseas.
Or just hiring a normal house sitting service so the home doesn't look vacant,
Or more extreme measures, they pull out a fake lease, you pull out your gun and them dump the body in a swamp somewhere to feed the gators
The easiest way to rid of squatters is to have people move in with them and make their life a nightmare.

At this point I don’t think we need police permission to deal with squatters. Clearly, the police are more interested in “just doing their job” and collecting a paycheck.
Don't blame the police. You need to complain to your elected officials, i.e.: Rep, Sen, Gov, Mayor, AG, DA... get the gist?
In these cases, our own government is the problem.
It is criminal, they are illegally entering a property and then destroying it

My mother is leaving for a month now I have to watch the property like a f****** guard dog
There should be an amendment in Florida preventing prosecution of any homeowner who uses any means necessary to remove anyone illegally attempting to take possession of his/her home. Whatever happens to the squatters happens, but homes are not to be f'd with. Homes and businesses are not just property. They are essential to life and civil society. If you squat, you need to be prepared to accept consequences up to and including the ultimate consequence.
A friend of mine who owns several now vacant properties keeps sentry dogs in the houses. Believe me no one has attempted to squat there.

The law is setup to allow the squatters to stay in your house because that costs you money that you have to pay to buy materials and repair which goes into the pockets of the construction industry which is crooked. As well, if you cannot pay your mortgage because of such, then construction and real estate gets to buy your property cheap.

Squatters can create fake deeds and get them recorded. It's already happening in my state.
@@awifeinterrupted So part of the problem is government employees not giving their job due diligence, or possibly even accepting bribes, surprise surprise... Either way, a recorder of deeds that makes this mistake should be fired.
@@cloudbase7799 - I don't think it's the employee per se. I think it's the system in general. Perhaps it varies by state or by county, but in some cases it's as simple as completing a deed document, taking it to the courthouse registrar's office and as long as the deed document is complete they just rubber-stamp it and record it.
