It’s a great and easy way to quickly translate a complex idea from brain to diagram. It really is one of the best tools I’ve come across for white boarding out an idea.
I love Excalidraw, and have used it for ages (with a tablet/pen). Some great libraries for things like network diagrams and MANY other things. The AI feature that converts wireframes into running code is a joy! Happy New Yeare, David, and thanks as always for the great content!
As always, thanks for the excellent information! FYI, "Arrows" can be configured to look like "Lines" and what's nice about "Arrows" is that they can "link" to objects so when you move the objects, the linked arrows auto-adjust. I could not get lines to do this. And like my other services, I have my Excalidraw instance available remotely via a subdomain through a Cloudflare Tunnel behind a Cloudflare Application.
Need advice please 🙏 Iv no one to ask Someone set up dynamic DNS on my home router without my knowledge Is it the same as a vpn ?? Is it a security risk to my router?? Can the person access my router through remote access at all times??
@6:43 - why all the lines look the same for wireless device and Ethernet devices? - can you add color lines/diagrams. - doted lines are good for wireless devices, and a solid lines for Ethernet. Plus thin lines for 10/100/1000 Mbps whiles thick lines for 10/25/40 Gbps.
Can Excalidraw be used to draw on a graphic tablet, like with a pen and free drawings? Similar to OneNote and similar programs? I like to scribble my ideas, still mostly on paper ... yet
I'm so glad I found your channel ages ago, and this is the program I have been looking for a LONG TIME. Thank you!

Dude, epic! Never heard of this project before!

Another cool project you can self-host is called Mermaid. It's slightly different, but in my opinion, it's more powerful for creating diagrams.
HappY neW YeaR
Yo you not mentioned integration of obsidian, that's great (but you don't need to host something) ;)
Yep! It's an excellent plugin that integrates seamlessly.
I don't use obsidian. Never have so I didn't look into that aspect. It's why I linked to their resources and videos for more information

I just didn't put a lot of time into the diagram that made for this. It was just meant to be a high level diagram and not meant to be 100% accurate

Seems like something that would work. I just tested the pencil tool in Excalidraw with the touch screen on my laptop and it worked pretty well :)
