Would it make a difference if you are talking to or about your husband/dads relatives. For example you said grandma is “Iya Mamma Mi”, would this change if it’s not your mum’s mum but instead your dad’s?
I am Caribbean and I’m trying to teach myself and my children basic Yoruba as their dad can only understand it and not speak it.
Yes! You're right, it changes with your dad, so it would be Iya baba mi, baba baba mi!
Done

Quit interesting
what about papa for dad is dat possible
Sure you can
in nepali we say baba to our dad
Is it ok to say iyanlá as grandma?
Iyá agba is more correct
Yes Iya Agba is best
ekale gbogbo yin. so u said we say baba/iya oko mi to the husband's sibling to say brother/sister in law, so is it the same when talking about your wife siblings?
Ekale o. It’s not the same for the wife siblings. You might just call them Ana mi
Can you tell us how to say cousins in part 2
Tomiwa Ade there is no direct word you could either call them egbon aburo or you would say 'omo egbon mama mi etc you would explain the relation Literally
Tomiwa Ade there's no direct translation of cousin... or you can say "omo aburo/egbon baba/mama mi" = "child of my Dad's/Mum's sibling (either older or younger)...
omo= child
aburo= younger
egbon= elder
baba/mama = father/mother
mi = my
@@DiamanteBox” oba kan “ not oba as in king
How do you say Grandma(dad's mom)??
Mama baba mi or iya a gba
I call my mom maami!
Aww that's so cute!
Nephew niece
Omo Aburo mi - My younger siblings child
Omo Ebgon mi - My older siblings child
Yoruba is not a gendered language so there is no distinction for nephew and niece. You would just specify if it's Obirin or Okunrin
Where is the bell?
Next to the subscribe button. X
Arugbo Ojo
King Jordan 😂😂
Can you teach us to make sentences
I have a video on it, I think it’s episode 21
I don't see the Bell
It’s next to the subscribe button
i didnt get the word for GOD
thora halldorssdottir dungal Olorun or Oluwa
Diamante Box tabi eledumare
It was a mistake sorry
You should work on having better transcription methods if you want to be serious about teaching languages :P
STFU
thanks
Why do you teach you about yoruba
I love it
