I hate those who are trying to make Mina and Dracula close and trying to clear away Mina and Jonathan. There is no romanticism between dracula (bastard) and Mina. "Mina and Jonathan" is one of the greatest couples. I love them when they miss each other. But, Some sequels and some movies are trying to show that Mina loves Dracula which isn't correct. Types of bastard like Dracula are dislodged by the GOD. They are the followers of the Devil. Nothing to say to them. What a fu'king sh't movie it was.

Nope, sorry, it's an urban myth. The rumour came about because the guy who played the priest was actually a priest in real life, so Keanu cracked a joke in an interview about how they were really married, but it was just that - a joke. They aren't legally married in either Romania, where this was filmed, or the United States. For two US citizens to be legally married in Romania, they would have had to provide their US birth certificates, plus certified proof of their eligibility to marry, plus give 90 days notice of intent to marry. You can't just waltz up to a Romanian priest and say "hey dude marry us" - it doesn't work that way.

@@TheAztecScorpionI definitely see what you're getting at and I can agree to an extent, but Mina also cheated on Jonathan with Dracula, so there's not much moral highground either way; women can be pigs too.
Not to mention the way she showed clear interest when Dracula introduced himself as "*Prince* Vlad", saying "a prince, no less?" and immediately accompanied him to... where ever they went after that (can't remember). Don't know about you, but to me that just sounds like something a gold digger would do. One could argue that she was being hypnotized or whatever, but my point still stands.

Mina's decision to marry Jonathan, given the fact that she fell in love with Dracula, is a very mean and deceitful act. Mina could just write a letter and honestly admit in it that she fell in love with another. With this act, Mina broke the life of a poor guy.

Minor flaw with your argument: Mina was already betrothed to Jonathon when Dracula waltzed in. She was already sworn to another man and was technically cheating on John with Dracula. But to play Devil's advocate, John was technically being unfaithful to Mina when he was stuck with the vampire brides so I guess their even. Anyway, when Mina received word that Jonathan was in trouble and needed to see her, she did the right thing. She decided to uphold her betrothal promise to John and went through with marrying him.
Sucks for Dracula but he has no one to blame but himself for this. He tried to tear up a union and steal another man's woman just because she may of been his reincarnated wife. Only to throw a tantrum when she decided to end the affair to uphold her promise to her real fiance. And Lucy ended up losing both her humanity and her life because she got caught in the crossfire.

I think she might still loves Johnathan. Maybe she wanted to do her best, be kind with him. I don't know if Dracula killed Lucy as a revenge. Probably. He was filled with rage and that's what made him do that. He really loves Mina even thought she married another man. To my mind he didn't want to steal Mina from her husband, he just wanted to be with her because she was really the reincarnation of his dead wife and because she sincerely loved him too. She was meant to meet him and love him back. He have searched her for centuries...

Thing is though, Mina is kind of at fault here. She was already engaged to Jonathan long before the Count stumbled upon her. Sure he may be older by like hundreds of years but it’s not like he already knew Mina existed before he saw her picture.

@@Littlebit31 I actually found it pretty faithful to the book. Yes, some timelines and details are blurred. I consider that part of a director’s artistic license. It is not the director’s job to show exactly how the story is laid out in the book. Watch a documentary on the myth of the vampire, or Bram Stoker if you want exactness.
