Technically Innocent Sin is a fight against Joker and the Masked Circle who resurrect the Fuhrer through the power of rumors. And Eternal Punishment is about stopping The New World Order from reshaping the world into one of their liking through rumors (again).
Persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal punishment will always be special to me. The music slaps, the story was unique and interesting, and had likable characters and villians. 2 and 3 imo will always be the peak of the franchise.

It got me invested in smt. I still wanna go back if I can find good emulations of the original smts just so I can play the entire series then.
Imagine if Atlus released a new DLC that hinting another persona series with this theme playing when incoming threats comes along several dialogues. Nyarlathotep gets back and realm of rumors rebirthed again. Philemon takes his rightful place, sitting as the mentor while Igor serves as 'assistant' like previous Velvet Room assistants.
If this game gets remade, I really hope it's in Kaneko's original art style, just updated. (Probably something closer to Nocturne) If they remade all of the characters in P3/P4 or P5's art style, I feel like we would really be losing something.
Damn, never heard anyone say that, since literally everyone is raving over using the Persona 5 engine. Definitely agree with you though, since Nocturne is pretty much the only mainline game with a defined 3D art style (all the others use 2d images for cutscenes and battle, with only the 4th games using 3D third person for dungeon exploration), so since the first 2 games were so well defined in using the original Mainline art style, it only makes sense for them to use the mainline 3D art style. Also, regardless of how much of a stupid meme it is, the jokes about Modern persona starting at 3 are correct, since the older Persona games also held their own design and uniqueness among Atlus’ games, in being an actual branch out from the standard Mainline story where it starts out as a part of a “what if” scenario for the first game, then proceeding to naturally in-Universe become its own thing by the time Persona 2 was made.
Tatsuya's literally the full package. He's got the cute reserveness as P3 MC, the chad energy as P4 MC, and the creative theatrics as P5 MC. Dude's a sigma male the likes of Keanu Reeves.

I doubt the game wouldn't sell well due to people starting to showing intrest in the older games, the people who typically make those people kind of complaints weren't going to play the games to begin with, on top of that certain things such as swastikas and other things were either changed or censord in the english release and PSP remaster also it isn't to far off from what you see in other smt games. The real reason why, is most likely because the dev team for p1-p2EP was pretty different from the p3-p5 dev team. From what heard some of the major team don't want to be associated with the series, so chances are that the real reason why we don't get a remake or another remaster of the two p2 games is out of respect for the original team. That being said I still hope for remake somehow
