I love how neat and orderly your garden looks! I also want to build a hinged cover this year (actually ever since I first saw James Prigioni's video). My bed is 4x10 and I've been trying to decide whether to do one large cover or two 4x5 covers. Since you mentioned yours is heavy at 3x8(?) maybe the two separate covers would be the way to go for me. Also, being able to cover it in plastic in early spring or late fall would perhaps allow me to not use so many buckets to protect my plants :) Looks great!
Thank you so much! I used 2x4's for the frame so it is quite heavy. You are correct, my bed is 3x8 so yours at 4x10 might be better off with two separate covers as you suggested. I think with 4x10 it might twist and put too much tension on the joints from the weight of it. I've been following along and watching all your videos they are very helpful. I think your zone and climate might be a tad warmer than me so its perfect to follow along and try to mirror what you are doing. Thanks for the support and keep those great videos coming:)
Yes, absolutely. Great idea. I really wanted it tall for my brussel sprouts though. Also we already screwed all the pvc together so we would have had to take it all apart. And honestly we were losing daylight and it was freezing LOL. Its done now and hopefully it will hold up. If not I will buy a bigger piece of insect netting and use this piece somewhere else. Thanks for your support:)

Thank you! It wasn't as hard as it looks and Mr Hubby helped alot:)
You could have also cut off your pvc pipe to make the cloth fit.
