Queen of Arabian sea!👑 Commercial and Classic Cochin. As part of school excursion exactly September 1990 (quarterly exam leave of XI) from CMS School, Karisal - Tirunelveli district we came to this beautiful coastal city..our first leg we had visited Ooty. What a nostalgic feeling! my second visit was 1995 during final year college. Our love and greetings to you Kochi.

0:50 I saw this huge billboard for Binny and wondered who could've owned such a huge building in the 60s. Asked my mother if the name Binny rang a bell and she told me it used to be a pretty good textile showroom. Looked it up, turns out it was owned by a Britisher and was established in the late 1700s in Madras!
Rabbitholes created from these sort of old pictures always intrigues me!
Old Kochi : Empty roads , no pollution , no wats up nuisance , no vehicle horns , no waste , no crowd , no bad smell.. total peace

Awesome work bro! So nice to see our Kochi growing beyond all its boundaries. Kochi now needs wider roads and some super tall buildings. Btw, at 1:12 you may have overlooked that this pic was not taken in 1975 as you can see Koya Stores' phone number is a 6 digit one and it is written local calls and mobile calls on the wall 😄😄. Nevertheless, great effort taken by u to create such a great video 👍🏻

Municipality should have just maintained the marine drive lot with green area and a good promenade and not allowed those ugly buildings which block the the whole view of the lake from Menaka road..
Corporate greed won't allow that to happen.

Our cities(not only kochi) town planning is extremely disappointing as it fails to flood proof,beauty,waste management,to ban posters..so on. government needs to take necessary steps regarding town planning and must learn from other developed countries.
All we need is a good talented town planner for each cities and village

Like every cities in India Kochi is also an unplanned city which looks horrible from the sky. The city must be re-constructed for better looks and lifestyle.
Felt the same. 100 years timelapse shows how much messier the city has become. This is more like a sad transition to doom.
It's not built where the foundation was layed by British that's the problem.

Guys this is not the view..i saw Kochi in emrites flight.. it couldn't land due to fog.. flight was parked over the kochin and I saw rivers and beautiful land scape😨 it's like too many rivers and streams flowing... these buildings and city like tiny portions...i thought where is the city? And we couldn't land kochin finally landed in tvm air port... after 45 mins came back to kochin.... more than 30 mins flight was circling above ekm...
