This 1944 North American B-25J-10-NC Mitchell was delivered from North American on June 9, 1944 to Hunter Field AFB in Georgia. Almost a month later, she left the USA and went to Corsica, Italy where she was assigned to the 319th Bomb Group/437th Squadron at Serraggia Airbase. She flew 15 combat missions with tail #18 between November 4th and December 31st 1944. She came back to the USA in July of 1945 and placed in storage.
In 1950, she came out of storage and assigned to Norton AFB, California. She did staff duties. In 1954, it was converted into a TB-25N and went to Bolling AFB, Washington (state) to help future pilots with their proficiency flying and did general administrative work. She was officially retired in April of 1958 and placed back in storage.
Now its January of 1960 and National Metals out of Phoenix, Arizona bought it. It was given it's first civil registration number, N9552Z. Same year, in September, Dothan Aviation (out of Dothan, Alabama) acquired it. She became an agricultural sprayer with the addition of a tank and spray bars (under the wings I'm guessing) and did this until around the mid 1960s and placed back in storage. In 1975, Cen-Tex Aviation out of San Marcos, Texas bought it but they didn't keep it for long.
Its 1979, three men, Henry W. Fisher, Donald W. Ericson, and Robert E. Thompson bought it (all Minnesotans). It would be donated to the Confederate Air Force which became the Commemorative Air Force (officially on January 1, 2002). It got a new registration of N125AZ with the name "Maid of the Shade" and is now flying with the CAF from its Arizona Wing out of Mesa, Arizona.

Killer man. It's impressive seeing these flying machines and thinking of their capabilities and use in the battlefield.

I like variety... and history, but im a pro photo guy first, videos are secondary to me, i do them for sound and movement and never plan any of them in advance, just take them as I see fit.

Impressive, very nice. The R-2600s do not disappoint. The only thing you need is an external mic with a windscreen 👌
