Hairpin legs. Now I know the name of them. Awesome. You blow my mind. Using the gas flaps.... Unbelievable. So clever and creative. Thanks for the share Mel. 💚🌞
Gotta give you creds. You are not bashful about where things go. Place them, draw around them, start drilling for screws. Not a lot of tape measure work. You ROCK. It will fetch better money in Santa Fe.
This is ART not just furniture absolutely beautiful
You chose come really cool stuff from the junkyard. The nails and the rusty wrench are wonderful. You've got a great eye.
Would love to see you create a sewing table.
This is a fantastic piece of art!! Truly creative!!
Thank you very much!
Absolutely amazing! You are a creative genius!!!!
You are unbelievable! Your creativity is astounding!

Amazing job, once again!
Not sure why this popped up on my feed but I have to compliment you on an amazing piece! Every single step along the process was a lesson in creativity. Kudos!

This turned out AMAZING! I love that the Melanie duo aren't afraid to get down and dirty, lol! I love the gas doors, screws, rust, etc. That paper is great too! It looks like an old metal sign. I love the hairpin legs. 👩🦰🧷🦵❤ Wonderful video! Gotta check out the "other" Melanie video now! 👋😘💕
You are the Best Cobs!!! Thank you 😊
Amazing I love it!
Wow, you are one of the best artist I've seen with creating something from nothing. Love you're ability to grasp what weathered metal would do.
Junkyard chic at its best!
So creative! Love it.
Perfect, absolutely perfect! You are so creative and you tackle it all from beginning to end. Bravo Mel Mel! I have that paper now I can envision on an industrial style project. Thx ❤️❤️👏👏👏

Hello!! I'm Bing watching all your videos..lol your so creative!
Thank you so much 😊
When you need to use newer screws, bolts, or nuts, they will usually take bluing. Bluing is the liquid used to turn metal blue/black color. While it is commonly used on tools and other metal objects, you've likely heard the term referenced in gun restoration. You can paint it on or dip pieces in the bluing solution. It ages your metal by taking away the shine.
Very interesting I’ve never heard of bluing but definitely going to look into now. Thank you so much for this suggestion I learn so much from viewers like you! 😊
This morning as I was working on one of those pieces where you fix an issue and another pops up multiple times, I took an idea from your project to fix mine. Thanks.
Industrial chic at its best.
Thank you Kathy
Oh wow!!!!
Wow...the rust effect looks so real. It turned out amazing. Great job!
This was a fun I highly recommend trying 😉
Truly impressive!

Ha ha I think so
SO many creative ideas to steal, er, borrow from you! Next time my mechanic friend goes to the automobile junk yard for vintage parts, I may have to tag along to look for drawer pulls (probably the limit of my own creativity - lol). One niggling question, tho, in terms of just the user friendliness of this desk. Those drawer openings are awfully deep. In the absence of actual drawers, I'm trying to imagine myself actually using those deep pockets you created; accessing, that is, the deeper reaches of those storage spaces. Would I custom fit some cardboard trays to slide in and out of those spaces? Is that what you had in mind?
I highly recommend you tagging along with your friend you might surprise yourself.
Yes the long narrow cubbies were an issue so I built some long boxes for them. This desk is actually my sons and he’s able to fit his laptop school books and a bunch of other stuff inside.
Cool paper!
Beautiful 😻! I wish you list on the description all the materials you used.
Thanks 😊.
Perhaps I’ll get around to watching and listing but in the mean time is there anything in particular you are you looking for?
@@coloredcaboosecreations hi dear thank you for answer me back. I would like to know the brand of the activator that made that beautiful green color please. Maybe you mentioned it in the video and I didn’t get it (English is not my first language). Keep on doing these fantastic videos; I’m learning a lot from you. I’m glad I found your Chanel. You are very talented! 👏
Sure no problem for the green I used Dixie bell patina paint in copper and blue activator. For rust I used Dixie bell iron patina paint and the green activator. Hope that helps 😉
@@coloredcaboosecreations thank you so much. You are the best!😘
Cool upcycle/construction. Fist time viewer here and I would have preferred a voice over rather than music and captions.
This was one of my first videos I was still trying to figure things out. Thanks for watching
According to my rough calculations the materials alone added up to about $70? Do you sell your work? Can you tell us what each piece sells for?
its going to a friends daughter
People buy when it looks as if its rusted and you could get cuts?
It is more for exhibit. Wish it was less aged to be sadly used.
This desk lives in my sons industrial themed bedroom and he uses it daily thanks for watching.
I loved the concept. I loved the execution. I liked the finished product, though it's not to my taste. I hated having to hit mute every time you stopped talking and the music came blaring in. It's not the songs you chose - it's the decibel level. :)
Sorry I was very new to editing with my new computer in this video I hope I’ve improved since.
What a great idea! Admire your sense of design. But, I am sorry to say, I think you were messy with the handicrafts. Sorry.
Looking back there’s many things I would do differently now. Thanks for watching 💚
Shook!! Girl, please tell me that you have made this your career, and that you have a constant flow of traffic and rush to buy your works of art?!
Ha ha that’s always the dream. Still just a hobby as of right now
