I have traveled to Irian Jaya three times before the name change to Papua. My favorite place I have ever traveled to and many fond memories. Awesome video!
Awesome video! Papua (especially the west) is a very wild and dangerous place nice to see your visit went well. So many amazing species you've shown here!
Outstanding video! I just recently had the pleasure of hearing Gary Lange speak in my local club about a recent trip to Papua New Guinea. It's so interesting to hear about the differences of species and speciation occurring in front of our eyes on the island. Thank you for the excellent educational presentation!
@@chrislukhaup It's interesting to see the different creatures and areas you both visited and searched for. Despite being a relatively small region, the biodiversity is rich and varied.
Amazing video! I see that in their natural habitat the Papua cherax lives together with plants. Do you think we can keep them in an aquascape with plants or will they destroy them all?
@@_invertico_ If you are talking about ghost shrimp so they could also not stand against the cold weather though their temp tolerance is kinda wider than other species. Technically, if you put a lot of shrimp into your pond, some of them will make it. It's just a little out of budget for me to do that.

Have you by chance come across any of the pseudomugil species?
not those times when i went...
@@chrislukhaup Thanks!
I hope I could visit Vietnam so I can invite him for some beers and introduce to him some cool fish species here.
Can you keep crystal shrimp or galaxy shrimp in outdoor ponds in Germany?
no, it gets to cold...
@@chrislukhaup what would you recommend?
They are kinda too small to stand against the outdoor weather.
@@LuckAqua what about crystal shrimp?
