The lady is so knowledgeable my goodness and detailed plus articulate, I have learned more in 38 minutes than I did all my life!!! But it is also my fault for missing those Primary school tours to these places back then. Super proud of such people.
Wooow!! This was so detailed, I learned alot about my Kingdom. Our kingdom's history is so rich and that makes me a proud Muganda. It's funny I didn't know much about our traditions but learned alot from this tour at 21:23 😄 Thanks alot Phil for choosing me to take you around Kampala
The tour guide didnt explain the reason why mushroom clans are the dancers and have a drum as one of their emblem. Mushroom clan are the only clan that dance " amaggunju" dance, which is only performed to Kabaka especially when Kabaka is touring a place or visiting a public place. The reason is, they inherited / have a spiritual cleansing powers so they dance infront of the king from the entrance of the palce/ arean up to the main venue/ and infront of the podium, cleaning the area of any evil spirits and minds that may cause chaos, bad omen, bad luck etc. All Baganda dances are danced moving forward except the mushroom dances s of Amaggunju are danced moving forward, backwards, left and right, up and down. The other known people who dance backwards are the "basezi", the night dancers, who do it to bewitch the gardens, businesses etc. So the mushroom dancers are the ones who cleansing the places in case any "musezi" had danced there before the Kabaka's visit. Please note: Mushroom clans are not "basezi", God , Katonda= the only creator, gave them cleansing powers simply by dancing and singing and playing those "amaggunju" dance and songs to Kabaka only.
But is true that mushroom clan/obutiko that their night dancer's!!? Just asking coz I had a guy from that clan but every time he could tell has they they do those things so I had to let him go.but when I asked my mum she laughed at me said not all but she asked me what if he was telling you the truth ? I loved him but I had to let him go coz at his age he couldn't he was older than me but never got married up to now still wondering.but its good you explained it .though still not convinced. But thanks.
@@fatimahzaharah9443 , Its a generalization that developed over time, due to highest concentration of night dancers come from mashroom clan. Similarly the indigenous people of Bukunja in Buikwe, Kyaggwe country, are also labelled night dancers because that region/ district has the highest concentration of night dancers. I have no statistics that Buikwe/ Bukunja . majority residents are of mashroom clan.
Very interesting 👌 stories about buganda kingdom 🤔 😀 l myself l enjoyed it. I am of Ekyima clan...but what l disagree is someone to be born with two emberical cord...not in life. But great stories about Baganda tribe 👏 👌 👍 😀
Am not sure if it was intended but Phil has positively marketed Uganda in so many ways which got me wishing he could one time meet Amos Wekesa the CEO Great Lakes Safaris who is another passionate tourism personality and perhaps they can workout something more interesting in regards with promotion of Uganda tourism🤔🤗
Great information and the lady has a lot of information, though some he changed some titles to English but we don't change them in Buganda, prime minister is katikiro, king is kabaka and the Buganda parliament is called the lukiiko
This tour would be very good to take on visiting Uganda. 5:50 I like the conservative dress code in Buganda. IMO. Men should not lust over scantily glad women, or be tempted. 8:30. There is much Buganda wisdom. Much to learn with importance for families.
Thank God am not belonging to grasshopper clan, if I was I had to hide my self somewhere and I eat them 🙈🙈 the way I like grasshopper only God knows so tasty 😋
it was the most over asked question in history subject...😢😢 my goodness I would answer things I haven't seen.. guess what,,,all that she said is what was necessary whenever that question was asked in an exam😂😂
The kingdoms were restored by the current regime led by H.E YKMuseveni it's not true the king of Buganda is not the one that restored the kingdoms because they're so many kingdoms in Uganda and they were all abolished by previous regimes of Late Amin and Mzee Obote
I understood what she said as; he was/is the first kabaka after kingdoms were restored. Hence the importance of honoring this event with the statue, cos it was a big deal for buganda. Not that he is the one who restored kingdoms. But the way she said it, the english was not englishing😁. Nway thats how i understood her, I could be wrong.
You said it well that other kingdoms were abolished so he's the one who restored buganda kingdom from being abolished think deep you have answers in your statement
