Technically, yes. We recreated this with Filo pastry recently, but somehow it didn’t taste as great as with (thick) Yufka sheets. Not sure why, I think it somehow turned out a bit too oily.
@@UnitedCuisines What do you think of a few layer of filo but baked instead of shallow fired to reduce to oiliness. I've searched but there's nowhere selling Yufka Sheets.
I liked the one with egg better. Also the cheese doesn’t crumble as much, when coated in egg. Lastly, if you have beef tallow, add into the frying oil, it will make the börek even more tasty 😋
