Oh yeah..what a time for x-men comics, it was about this time that I got into x-men comics so it was a great jumping on point. It's so different from what xmen comics are today, I can't really read them today because they don't act like heroes, here we see them at there best.

the original was supposed to be a continuation of pryde of the x-men, but marvel mandated that dazzler, shadow cat, colossus, nightcrawler be replaced with morph, jubilee, gambit, and rogue. and all the cameos they got they pulled off without approval by naming them generic names in the scripts like mutant 4 or black mutant 3(black panther).
One mistake you are making here: In 1981, Magneto sank a Soviet nucellar ballistic missile submarine. What he is doing in the first issue of X-Men vol 2 is taking the nucellar missiles from the sub he sunk a decade earlier.
I loved the original blue and gold era, but it really didn't make any sense. Storyline wise, they never explained why the teams were divided that way. Seems like they could have swapped Jean for Psylocke so Scott and Jean could be on the same team.
It makes perfect sense when you actually put thought into it. They would distract each other and having Wolverine on that same team they would be distracted even more so.
@@robthedude4861 But they were on X Factor together and they didn't get distracted. Plus, wouldn't it be more distracting being on different teams, wondering if they other one was OK? And Cyclops ended up being distracted by Psylocke anyways, lol.
Where were havoc and Polaris in this story Polaris and magneto could have had an encounter on asteroid m why would they not use that as part of the story

Blue, the team of weaklings with a load of mental issues, but have good lines against Gold, the team with experience, smarts, leadership and pure raw power with two original and pure omegas Jean and Bobby and the newbie afterthought omega Ororo.
Afterthought Omega though? Like Storm’s power scaling has been incredibly ridiculous over the recent years. It’s only going to grow even bigger with her upcoming solo and being in Avengers.

X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold are two of the best X-Teams in the X-Men comics. they're similar to the West Coast Avengers and the Secret Avengers.

Bishop joined the gold team before Jean and Cyclops wedding. Forge was only on the team for a very short amount of time. Storm is the best leader!
