Wheel bearings are used to allow wheels to rotate while on the road, when they fail it could have dire consequences and cause consequential damage, in this video, I will show how to replace a rear wheel bearing on a Toyota Prado 4x4, enjoy the video, thanks for subscribing, until next time Safe Motoring.
Gary
Clever of toyota to put the bearing in the hub. I like that design. If things go really pear shaped you won't sit with a wheel and sideshaft seperating from the diff. This way it's contained.
Agreed Doc, great design, other manufacturers could take a page from Toyota's book.
Too bad that the drivers will continue driving on the bad wheel bearings till that hub disintegrates, and you get the wheel and shaft coming at you across the road. Common on taxis, have seen it twice on an oncoming taxi. Lucky for me both times the bouncing ball and stick missed me, though the second one went between me and the trailer I was towing.
I saw it happen, Sean, the vehicle was brought in on a flatbed with body damage too, some people do not realise the implications of not attending to wheel bearing noises on time.
Great video Mr.Gary
Thanks for your continued support, Sathasivan, good to know my efforts are appreciated.

Hi Mr Gary,i wonder if you could help with some advice...
I drive a 2005 prado V6 petrol
The car is noisy, humming
I suspected the drivers side front wheel bearing, which I've recently replaced...(i still assume its coming from the front)
The noise persist 😂
When i take a bend and steer right the noise goes away...
Your advice would be highly appreciated
It does sound like a wheel bearing, it could be a defective one you fitted.
👍
WTF - literally skipped the most important part!!
I am sick of idiots like you making negative comments on my channel as if you can do better with 3 subscribers and a few stupid videos on your channel, get lost if you have no positive contribution to make, do you even know what it takes to make a viewable UA-cam video, so keep your negative comments to yourself you TROLL.
