Been looking at getting one of these green houses. This channel is a super fantastic resource for our planning and ideas. Thanks for sharing you knowledge and innovations.
I'm not sure on Temperature because its more a matter of when/how often the fan kicks on to aid in cooling. But it helps a TON. I am still running my small Winter fan, which runs intermittently. Shade cloth is a big help while I work on getting the Trees and Vines mature.
Thank you for your information. We have purchased this greenhouse kit and are ready to start the process. I live in Provo but we are building a greenhouse house down in the Sanpete area. I would love to come and visit if you would have a few minutes. It seems that you have added a lot of beneficial elements to the original design. I would be very interested in discussing these with you, thank you again and look for to hearing from you at your convenience.
Sanpete County is a great area. I think one of these would do well there. Lets shoot for a June visit if that works. I've been meaning to open it back up to visitors. Its been a few months.
Yes. I think 40% is perfect for me. My plan is to put it on later in the spring and take it off earlier in the Fall as the Greeenhouse matures. Yes, I leave it on all Summer. From Feb. til late Oct.
yes. I attached the pipe to the bottom grommets of the Shade cloth by drilling a hole in the pipe every 4 feet and running a small wire thru them both.
@@johnosborne5018 yes. I reattach a black string that I have running around the perimeter of the shade cloth. It goes thru every grommet on the shade cloth (every 2 feet) and thru the eyelets that are attached to metal screws used to build the greenhouse. Lays down really nicely.
I have a 20 inch fan that I use in the Winter and 2 24 inch fans that I use during Summer. In hindsight, I would have only two fans and use one during Winter and two during Summer. As the Greenhouse matures, you would likely only need one. I also have two blowers on top of geothermal pipes so I'm circulating plenty.
we placed eyelets into the screws that were used to build the greenhouse so we could use a small rope every 12 feet to secure the shade cloth when rolled up.

Would you still go with 40% knowing what you know now? Do you leave on all summer?

Do you attach pipe at the bottom? Thanks for the video.

Sorry I meant do you attach the pipe to anything to keep it from blowing up at the bottom

How did you secure it at the top when rolled up? Thanks.

How long is your greenhouse/shade cloth? Wondering if this rolling technique would work for ours (102 ft) Thanks for the video!
71 feet long (about 1 foot less than GH)
Looks great

No Avocados but the Trees looks great. Probably too young to fruit.
