Jean-Mi was already 36 when he encountered the young Timo Boll in this match. Although Jean-Mi's star was slowly goind down this match shows drastically how far Timo in his development already was. Jean-Mi who was also a spin oriented attack player was under heavy pressure right from the start, from the very first point to the very last. It must have been a hard experience to see the big gap to Timo. I remember Jean-Mi when he was on his maximum level mid of the 90s. What a player, what a fighter! He'll remain one of my heros forever!
