  • This video was requested from a viewer a few months ago. They wanted to know my thoughts on the DuoLamp. I have the clamp version but this light also comes in a floor and table top version.

This looks very handy! I’ve thought for a while that my simple table lamp from IKEA isn’t the best for the art/journaling stuff i’m doing & gives a very “narrow” light (don’t know how to describe it better atm 😅) & this lamp seems so handy!

It is very handy to have the light from multiple directions. I don't think they give a very broad light but with the two arms that definitely helps correct that. It's also useful being able to move them independently in order to prevent glare.

I have this lamp too. Actually I bought a second one because my desk is very large and I wanted light from both sides. All in all it is a very good product but I would like a longer arm so that I could have light from the top when I use my desk easel.

A longer or extending arm would be a good option.

Glad I saw this video; thank you for the review, but I would never buy it. I need a new lamp for my drawing board as I do architectural illustrations. This would never work because it is just not tall enough. The light I have is about about 30 years old. This lamp would never last one-tenth of that. The nice thing about the light I have is that it's a combination of incandescent and fluorescent so it's a very near natural light. It has a long adjustable neck but after many years the adjustments have weakened and it won't hold its position very well. I guess I will have to keep looking.

I'm glad my review was helpful to you. No product is going to suit everyone :) Take a look at sewing lamps perhaps, I know they're often quite tall and flexible to work around large projects.

They also have a floor version that you may want to look into

Hi! I’m thinking of buying one of these lights to use for my drawing board. Is the clamp strong please? Thanks for a great review. 💜

Yes it is quite strong, because it's a turning handle to tighten you can make it very strong.

Thank you for your video. I am about to buy this lamp, and I had a question if you would be so kind as to answer it for me as I can't find the information anywhere...
I would like to hang this lamp on a shelf that is on my left, in such a way that the hose would not be leaning on the clamp, but in the opposite direction, and I don't know if this model allows it. I don't know if my explanations are very clear either, but if you understand them, then thank you for your answer :-)

Do you mean that the lamp would be mounted upside down on the shelf? If so then yes that is possible :)

@@brusheswithbec Thank you! It's complicated for me, especially since I'm a French woman who doesn't speak English!
You see, I don't want to mount the lamp on my work table but on a shelf that is to my left, so yes, the clamp would be sort of upside down from the intended use. But if I clamp like this and bend the hose towards my table, then the lamps will light the ceiling and not my table! Unless there is a possibility at the base of the lamp to turn the hose the other way?

@@lauramercy7775 if you turn the neck (hose) of the lamp backwards then lights would then be facing down, but it may not give you the range of movement or location that you need.
