My grandfather passed away recently from stage four colon cancer that spread and filled his entire abdomen with tumors. HERES THE CATCH, they told him he had 2-3 years to live when he was diagnosed. He was diagnosed 25 years ago. He never had any serious complications or symptoms from the cancer until the very end. He lived completely symptom free aside from the days around chemo. FUCK THE TIMELINE. He never thought he’d see 60 and he lived to be 80 YEARS OLD. You got this girl.

My husbands great aunt was also diagnosed with a super rare cancer and was give 3-6 months. She started immunotherapy and just a month ago (2 years after diagnosis) she’s the first person that her doctors know of that survived this type of cancer! His grandfather survived pancreatic cancer and his mom survived breast cancer! Their entire family is just super positive and have been through all of their journeys.

You are doing great by not believing in the one year that your doctor has given you. My cousin was diagnosed with lung cancer and was told by a hospital (University hospital of a big town nearby) that they could not treat her because its incurable...she changed the hospital, had chemo/radiation/operation and now the cancer is gone. Doctors can be wrong, especially when it comes to these kinds of estimations ❤️

The fact that no one did your bloodwork the first time around and then the doctor was like I’ll see you in 1.5 months AND THEN the way the nurse told you about you possibly having cancer IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!

I hope you see this- you girl.. you are amazing. I smiled at every second of this video apart from when you were talking about going home on the oral chemo and not being able to do your self cares you can see how much that hurt! I’m 24 and I couldn’t even imagine. Your attitude and the energy you give off is purely inspirational. My son was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 19 months back in January 2021. We didn’t know until he was critically ill on life support in an induced coma. He developed sepsis which caused a stroke and then developed necrosis in his throat, leaving permanent damage. He’s fully peg fed and like yourself he has a port, handy little device was happy to hear you have a port and not a line which restricts you so much more! So my son has a funky back story, if you can even refer cancer to “funky”.. anyway upon his first bone marrow aspirate he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia but it was in an “unusual” presentation and they couldn’t tell if it rode in on his T-cell or B-cell so 48 hr later, straight after the first results they did another bone marrow aspirate along with a small amount of chemotherapy in his spinal fluid. This bone marrow aspirate showed that his cancer had gone into remission. All by its self .. ‘spontaneous remission’. They explained to me it happens one or twice every 5 years and mainly in younger patients. They’d never seen it and they looked at me like they were just as confused as I was. They told me they believe it will come back within the year. So after his recovery and over a month of being on the ICU and then a month on the ward we went home with a heap load of follow up appointments - neuro, physio, occupational therapists, immunology because ofc he had a reaction to a drug and ballooned up just before discharge, plastics because he had necrosis on his lip too, ENT for the throat damage, haematologists to monitor the bloods, over all paediatrician, district nursing team, ophthalmologists for his eyes as he has weakness from the sedation and also has facial nerve palsy as his face swelled.. I won’t explain anymore about all that part though it’s just crazy.. anyway his leukaemia returned in July 2021 and then he started treatment. By his leukaemia spontaneously going into remission it basically saved his life as they believe his leukaemia was at its final stages hence why he got so poorly with infections and ending up on the icu nearly dying 3 times. They believe the sepsis caused the spontaneous remission. Inbetween his cancer disappearing and coming back I obviously did my own research I wanted answers but there were non to be found as it’s so rare but I did come across “coleys toxins”. This is treatment that was brought to light years and years ago. The aim was to inject live bacteria into a tumour and hopefully achieve remission. It worked for some. Basically my son made his own coleys toxins as bacteria fought the leukaemia caused a fever and put it into remission.. only temporarily but it bought him time and he’s still here with me today in remission again and on treatment with a good prognosis. I just wanted to leave the info here and it’s upto you if you decide to read it, query it to your oncologist or whatever. Anyway this comment is definitely longer than intended! I’m wishing you all the very best in your journey and I hope to still be seeing your videos next year and the year after that and the year after that! Lots of love from me and my boy x

your attitude and strength is so inspiring!♥️ honestly what life has thought me is that, how good of a life you live, isn’t determined by how many years you’ve got. some people live a long but miserable life, while some experience so much good in a short period of time. i love how you don’t take your days for granted. a lot of times doctors are wrong with their prognosis. someone in my family is going through stage 4 cancer, and every time she has an appointment they tell her she’s only got a few months left, but it hasn’t been true. she’s still doing fine. you got this girl

I’m so sorry emerg was so bad for you! I’m in Vancouver and the emerg doctors were actually the first ones who took me seriously and all the nurses were incredible. I went in on Jan 9, 2022 with abdominal pain and through blood tests and a CT scan they discovered that it looked like I had colon cancer that had spread to my liver. I got officially diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer on Jan 17, 2022 after a colonoscopy. I’ve had incredible doctors all the way along, I feel very lucky with that… not so lucky that I got Stage IV cancer at 26, but I’ve learned to count my blessings! I’m on oxaliplatin and fluroricil (or however it’s spelled) too! And don’t forget, stats are based on the more “typical” patient, so older people. If anyone can beat the stats, it’s you!

Have you got genetic testing done? I got a stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis at 36 and it was determined it was genetic. Lynch syndrome. It changes treatment options. Thank you for sharing your story and positive vibes your way.

How did it change treatment options for you?
I am 29, have colon cancer which is not spread but not yet staged as I need to do surgery first. My dr suspect it is Lynch syndrome as I lost my dad and brother to colon cancer. But my surgeon said the genetic testing would come later for monitoring post recovery.

If you test positive for lynch you can get screened sooner and more frequently for certain cancers than the average person, it runs in my family and I did genetic testing last year when I was 24. It’s not well known about but it effects so many people who have never had genetic testing.

Stomach cancer doesn't usually have genetic ties. In fact genetics only account for like 5-10% of all cancers.

I never understand why people ask such insensitive questions but you handled them so well.
Even though this video is a hard and emotional topic to talk about you still had me laughing. You humour is amazing.
While your cancer story may have helped to gain a lot of followers quickly, I think we’re all here not just because of that but because you’re hilarious, fun, inspiring and you also have the coolest style. You are helping others to see perspective too and learn how to just the enjoy life we have now because nothing is ever guaranteed.
Lots of love from a fellow edmontonian 💕

hey girl! I'm from edmonton also and a nursing student... and honestly you're going to prove the healthcare world wrong and kick cancers ass. My uncle was diagnosed with a brain tumour in which they removed but said it would 99% come back within 2 years and kill him.. its been over 5 years now and he's still cancer free in all of his scans. Miracles happen, doctors can be wrong, and I look up to you for being positive and not letting it drag you down to the point you lay around doing nothing. I have a few chronic medical conditions and I used to let them ruin my life, but I am finally starting to realize that it's not going to make the situation better:) So proud of you and defiantly am jealous of your style;)

So that life expectancy prognosis is based on an average. The doctor should have told you, however, that it ís an average and that it could be way longer indeed. Also, i think they should ask you if you even want to know. Lots of strength to you!
