  • Phoenix is a horse and has been a patient of Motion Equine Centre over the past 12 months. Phoenix developed severe laminitis. Laminitis is where the attachment between the hoof wall and the bone inside the hoof capsule (pedal bone) breaks down. This attachment is similar to how our fingernail is attached to our finger. When this happens in the horse, it can be life threatening because the horse needs to stand on its fingernail 24 hours a day. This video discusses how we managed Phoenix to successfully rehabilitate his feet from the initial laminitic episode - Enjoy!
