Battle Breakdown; The final was a great end to the season - yes it had some controversy with Skamz dropping the mic but that makes this final even more memorable- pen game is always unpredictable! Round 1 - Ren Strong start for both - Ren revealed in an insta live that he didn’t fully write for his opponent in the final; so the milk get back was pure genius - the stars aligned and it end up being yet another excellent use of a prop. Round 2 - Skamz Skamz had the crowd buzzing with his video and Sevz dressed in the green suit was crazy! BUT don’t sleep on Ren here- he literally showed he can rap and his bars and flow were arguably some of his best in Pen Game. On listening back it was a lot closer than it seems. Round 3 - Ren Fully deserved, yes Skamz dropped the mic but take nothing away from Ren. He has helped others evolve their game for the live audience and has changed the trajectory of Pen Game by making it more accessible and entertaining. Editing did Ren dirty as the image of him holding Skamz as a baby made the crowd erupt - they didn’t show it here. Ren a worthy winner. Overall this season has been huge success - the live crowd brought a different element and despite some lows Pen Game has improved each round and elevated the game! Next season we need a tag tournament/ all female tournament as well as the male tournament. Will REN’s style be impactful next season - possibly not; I think a rapper with aggressive bars and delivery could do well- hope rappers are brave enough to go back to their own style/originality - makes the battles more diverse. Maybe Ren should be a judge next season !
