For $500 sister got married in dance studio which looked like a beautiful ball room with a chandelier and a foyer. It even had a warming kitchen. It wasn't normally used as a wedding venue and that was why it wasn't expensive. My step mom and the groom's mother catered the turkey dinner. She got 2 bottles of wine for every table and there was beer. I think it was a genius idea to throw a wedding there. The wedding was $5000 for 200 guests.
A caution for people looking into venues like parks and fields, or even private homes- workout how much things like catering, hiring tables, chairs, plates, glasses, lighting, generators etc is going to cost and add it on to the ‘cheap price’ of the venue. I wanted to do a field wedding but after I worked everything out it was the same price as renting out a nearby winery venue that already included catering and furniture and I didn’t have to go through all the stress of organising all those extras that you need in a blank venue that most venues just include.
I feel like we are forgetting one major inexpensive venue: churches. Some churches require you to be of the same denomination as the church you’re wanting to get married in, but not always. There’s gorgeous glass chapels, churches with stained glass, old rock churches, etc. I personally got married in my own church, so they didn’t charge anything since I was a member (and luckily for me, my church is a pretty one!) If you’re not religious and getting married in a church is a no-go, I totally understand. I just wanted to point out that they’re a beautiful option and adding a bunch of petals to an aisle is always a nice touch :)
Hi Jamie! Can you please do a video on the pros/cons of hiring a DJ versus just plugging in your phone and being your own DJ? I know a DJ can be helpful but we're on a tight budget and we think it might be an option to save money
My Fiance and I just booked our date for our wedding in a CASTLE in NY!!! We thought of it as a potential option as a joke originally. Like, "hey lets get married in a castle! :p" but come to find out, they don't have a venue fee at all!!! It actually is our cheapest...I mean, most inexpensive option! All while being a beautiful castle!! It is crazy cool!! So blessed and excited! :)
@@rachellealvarado4562 it was at Manchester State Park back in 2016 (prices may have increased some), just a quick ferry ride across the water from Seattle. Typically the weekends book up quickly. I 100% recommend getting married at state parks. They are the most affordable from all I looked at. I'm not sure where you are located, but there are good state park venues across the state. Hopefully you'll find something!
@@rachellealvarado4562 washington.goingtocamp.com/ This is where you make state park reservations. The section you need to look at is "Day Use". With covid there are lower limits for the occupancy than when I got married.
@@sarahpyke307 Hi Sarah! I am planning mine right now and have a state park in mind but can’t find an affordable option for a reception venue….could I ask what type of reception area you celebrated in?? Thanks ❤️
@@mnsalmeri some state parks have room for the reception. The one I used had a fairly flat lawn area behind it where we had the reception. A lot of it depends upon how large your wedding will be, what your reception to look like (if you need space for dancing and a bar).
Airbnb seems like an amazing idea but can be risky. Based on my research, the host can cancel your reservation for any reason therefore you lose your venue.
@@samstiede7230 Try Peerspace! I browsed Peerspace for wedding reception venues and was impressed by what I found. A lot of venues already provide tables, chairs, linen, AV equipment and assist with catering services, bar services and event coordination.
Just make sure the host knows you want to do a wedding there, I looked into this for my wedding but pretty much all the nice places were strictly no events, and after contacting the ones that didn’t specify that they also said no. You don’t want to book everything only to find out there’s been a miscommunication and you no longer have a venue!
I'd also be interested in a video about this. I feel like Airbnb can be quite risky since the host can cancel at anytime or they don't have proper permits/you need to buy insurance, so I'd love a wedding planner's thoughts on this.
I’m getting married this Saturday. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Your channel has helped my fiancé and I be more informed when making decisions for our wedding. I can’t thank you enough!
I don’t know if anyone has said this yet, but my fiancé and I are doing a cruise wedding! The actual wedding part (ceremony+reception, does not include the actual cruise) is $3,000 and it includes the ceremony and reception venues, hors d’oeuvres (you can choose 6 different types!), drinks, officiant, bride’s bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, DJ, decor, a wedding planner, day-of coordinators, cake, and even an OPEN BAR. And as an added bonus, they let you be as involved as you want in the planning process! Customize it to your heart’s content or leave it to the pros and enjoy the ride, whatever you decide to do! Unfortunately I have not seen much information on cruise weddings outside of what carnival told us, so if you know anything or are interested, Jamie, I’d love to see a video on these!
The last wedding I attended was in a train station. The high ceilings were beautiful and there was an authentic vintage feel. Suffice to say, it was stunning!
Oh my goodness! That sounds beautiful. I wish I would've thought of that cause we don't live too far from Lancaster PA which is full of original train stations! Ugh! LOL but I'm super happy with our park ☺
Our wedding venue is only costing us $150 for the whole day, it has a prep kitchen, and all the tables and chairs. Plus it's right across the street from my grandmother's house where the bridal party is getting ready. It's like a community center. The only "drawback" is no alcohol of any kind, which we are ok with because I have some alcoholics in my family and we didn't want that to be an issue. Now we can blame it on the venue and no one will be the wiser.
My fiancé and I rented out a nature preserve! Absolutely love it for our fall wedding. And guess how much we paid for it?! 3 pavilions with the one section for just our use. $160! Even an air bed and breakfast around here was $2,000. Saved sooo much money 💵
Yes!!! Venue was the hardest thing for us, but when we used a state park in TN, our venue price was amazing and beautiful but chairs and tables were included in our lodge rental! All for under $500! We got married at Cedars of Lebanon State Park, for anyone in the Nashville/middle TN area looking for a venue!
Hannah Rose check out the state parks! Super super affordable! And it was very easy to apply for an alcohol permit and the party insurance to have alcohol was super cheap too! Hit me up on Instagram @menkearney if you have any questions! Or need any inspiration or recommendations!
To be honest I looked at a bunch of "Non-traditional" venues and they were all just as expensive as regular venues :( the 'cheap' venues had a lot of restrictions to them, too. We looked at a few national/state parks and while gorgeous and super cheap, they had a lot of issues solved by spending a little more on a traditional venue. Issues with decorations, parking, rentals, etc. The biggest issue was TIME. Tons of those venues have time constraints for setup tear down. We looked at 3 different state parks in Northern FL, Southern GA that all only gave 4 hours total from start of ceremony to cleaned up and out of the venue after reception. Lots of them don't allow set up of anything until 1-2 hours before ceremony start time. They are gorgeous and great if you don't want a big budget, but my fiance and I realized at least for us that spending the money on a venue that knows how to handle a wedding was PRICELESS when it came to our peace of mind.
So true! We looked at a historic site park here in Canada and while the rental fee was cheap, with all of the things we would have to bring in it ended up being just as much as a regular venue and 20 times more work.
Fairgrounds! Some of them can be spendy especially if you are in a bigger, more metropolitan area, but if you're a more rural area they are typically pretty reasonable. And their great if you're going for a more rustic/country theme.
We did 2/3 of these venue options for our small wedding last week! We had our ceremony at Dene Summerhouse in Central Park, then moved to a Peerspace for our reception! It was VERY DIY (we had to go get all of the reception stuff from my parents' hotel room right after the ceremony, bring it to the reception space, then set up in about 30 mins!), but we kept it super simple and friends were super happy to help out! We had friends pick up the food, ice, and cupcakes and meet us at the space. It ended up working out perfectly for us!
My fiance and I are doing our wedding at a conservation area in our city. It is about $300 for 8 hours. We get the whole pavilion and the outdoor area surrounding the building
Love this video! My fiance's brother just got married at a theater company who's stage was in the middle of a hazelnut orchard and it was STUNNING! There's tons of places and organizations that are willing to help you out on that day - don't be afraid to ask!!!
Hi Jamie! Long time lurker, first time commenter, lol I was wondering if you could make a video about “Rehearsal dinner etiquette” or what to go over during rehearsal time with your venue. Would also appreciate your opinion on the best way to do/display a seating chart. I’ve been going back and forth with individual table seatings vs a sign posted with general table assignments. What works best for guests? Thank you for all your do, girl.
I'll add my comment for anyone in San Diego that may be here! As I'm sure you know, Southern California isn't inexpensive! We had our wedding at the Coronado Community Center, didn't sound the most appealing but hands down gorgeous. Our biggest cost was catering/bartending, then photography, venue fee, videographer, etc. In that order. This was easily the least expensive option for us in this area, I could've gotten a less expensive photographer, but photography was very important to me and the pictures turned out gorgeous!
@@christinadipinto6109 sorry for the late reply, I didn't see it until I responded to your comment on the other video! I used Holly Ireland photography for our wedding and engagement photos. She is a great photographer, but a bit on the pricier side depending on your budget. My recommendation would be to search around and find someone whose photography style you like, whether it be dark and moody or light and airy or somewhere in between, and look through galleries on their website. There's also a San Diego photographer, Cavin Elizabeth, who is my favorite, she does youtube videos as well, but she has written a book called A Bride's Guide to a Picture Perfect wedding, I think it retails for $29.99, and it might be a helpful starting point for helping you choose a photographer? Good luck!
I looked at a bunch of “inexpensive” wedding venues with my husband and found them not to be such a great deal. You really need to look at what is included and what is not included. We fell in love with this one location.. $750 rental fee. Sounds perfect right?! Looking at the fine print, it literally included nothing. Not even the parking lot to the building!! You want to use the parking lot? That’s an extra $500. Table and chairs? An extra $500. After adding it up, we decided to go with another venue that was more expensive at first glance, but included a lot of necessities like an onsite bathroom, ice, tables/chairs, etc.
I found my venue because of this video!!!! Ahhh girl and it's so perfect thank you 😍 we tried your tip about peer space and found a beautiful industrial place very cheap and we can bring in our own catering and alcohol 😍😍 I appreciate all your advice and humor you bring to your channel!
Hi Jamie! As you’re about to turn 50k followers very soon, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my virtual wedding planner across two weddings that I’ve organised in two countries in June and July (London for our civil ceremony, Romania for our reception). Your advice, the effectiveness of the information you provide and especially the way you are looking at the big picture as well as the smallest of details helped me TREMENDOUSLY in putting my thoughts together and getting everything done the way I dreamed of. I’m still watching your vids despite having wrapped up the weddings (we still have a reception in India but his parents are organising that mainly) simply because you are so entertaining! I’m hoping every future bride who has to organise her event bumps into your vids like I did after getting engaged, because you are incredible. Thank you again - and honestly, I’m thinking of getting the master plan just for the fun of it :)
Were getting married at a CAMPGROUND it’s saved us soooo much money and I was really happy that everyone will be able to stay in the same place and we get to spend the best weekend ever camping!
We have a conservatory near us that has a greenhouse/botanical garden, and I have heard from many people that have gone there for events that it was miserable because of the humidity needed to keep the plans alive 😬 But the pictures are gorgeous!
I am getting married at a boat house. There is a small restaurant area where I will have the reception. But, the showstopper is this amazing long pier that looks magical at sunset! I can't wait!
Getting married in August at a local community center. The auditorium is huge, and we get the whole day there, including tables, for only $180! And because my fiancée works for the city, we don't need to pay a $300 deposit!
I’m getting married next April! I work for a big church so I am able to get our community center building for our reception absolutely free. We’ve opted to have our ceremony at a beautiful public park down the road which is also free! I’m SO excited for my wedding day because I can put my money towards entertaining my guests instead of worrying about the places.
We are getting married at a small ski center so our ceremony is right on top of the mountain over looking the adirondacks it only cost us 1200 for the reception area and 650 for the ceremony it’s beautiful and cheap their catering is also only $39 a head it’s insane how perfect this place is
My husband and I had our reception at a brewery. We both loved the industrial vibe the brewery offered plus the awesome beer for my beer loving husband. Win, win!
i had my ceremony at a gourgous local park and my reception at a grange. The grange was built in the 30's and was beautifully mantained hardwood and huge windows, it even had a kitchen in the basement.
Women's Clubs tend to be pretty inexpensive. I'm in NJ and some clubs were around $1K or more to rent the space for a wedding-- which is a miracle for NJ in terms of price.
I just got married 2 weeks ago in an old movie theater that had been redone all gold and emerald and it was gorgeous and made the perfect old Hollywood themed setting. My husband and I had gone on one of our first dates there to see Casablanca and we only paid $150 ($160 if you count $10 for popping enough popcorn for all 96 guests). It also was an amazing place fpr photos because of the balcony and our names on the marquee. Plus everyone said they were the most comfortable seats any wedding had.
Please note that some public parks require insurance, damage deposits, restoration to original state after event, and security fees by the agency authorized vendor.
Hi Jamie, I love your videos and I've been watching since the beginning. I grew up in Lakeside and I remember when I was like 8 yrs old my family would go out to Julian for a day-cation. I haven't been back since around 1995, so it was a blast from the past with you bringing it up. ♥️
My fiance and I are having our ceremony in a planetarium next autumn! We get to pick what they display in the dome, from constellations to meteor showers to northern lights. I'm so excited!
Porzellan congratulations ! Me and my other half are looking at a planetarium venue as an option for the ceremony as well :) can you let me know what pros and cons you had ? Thanks
My dance teacher recommended a venue I danced at 8ish years ago. The Maple Grove Grange. It was SUPER inexpensive! And it's the perfect size for a 100 person wedding!
Hello Jamie. I just want to say thank you so much for all of the amazing videos that you post. My fiancé and I are getting married in two days, but we have been engaged for two years and seven months! I am planning everything myself and was even in the UK for grad school for a year and your videos helped so much with the whole process. It felt more like a team effort when I was alone in my flat searching for floral inspiration photos and listening to all your advice. Your channel became an excuse for "me time" this past year when I would just relax with some hot chocolate at the end of a long day and immerse myself in wedding planning. So thank you again! I am sure I will keep watching your videos even after this Friday.
Some of the other commenters have mentioned this, but just because it’s on this list don’t assume that’s it’s cheaper compared to more “traditional” venues in your area. Still shop around and make sure you’re comparing the costs and restrictions so it’s apples to apples between venues. Also even if a venue is cheaper you may be getting way more bang for your buck at other venues. Depends on your priorities and what they offer
I am getting married at my local park. It has a little pond area, carousel, train, patio, and small amphitheater. I'm super excited. With the refundable deposit back it is less than $400 for 6 hours with tables and chairs included
Our town has a picturesque little park that has a bridge over a stream, gazebo, stage with wooden beam seats, bathrooms, covered pavilion with wooden picnic tables as concrete tables scattered around the pavillion. My daughter rented the site for an afternoon wedding. It was lovely. The only downside was that there was no electricity.m, so no fans could be run. Her wedding day was over 90 degrees and sticky-humid! One child nearly passed out from the heat. The party was cut short due to the uncomfortable weather. But in the end, my daughter was married and we do have some beautiful photos ( from guests phones, as the designated camera malfunctioned due to the heat).
What are the pros and cons of an "all inclusive" venue (venue comes with service staff, food, bar, possibly even a space for the ceremony) vs. Going piece meal with a venue and vendors (venue is just the space and all other vendors are arranged by the couple). Thanks in advance!
Make sure to ask about vendor agreements and limitations. Some that do food will also require the cake from them. So if you have a vendor you really want to use or don't want to do something totally traditional, they might now work with you. They might charge a lot more for the amenities they provide versus average cost in your area. The big pro is it's easier to coordinate with one big vendor than many individual vendors. They probably offer a wedding coordinator as well. Probably handled clean up
I will be viewing a Peerspace location Saturday for $102 an hour, which is honestly the best deal for a venue that holds 120 people that I have seen in my search. I truly recommend Peerspace. It is going to save me over 4k from the "average venue cost" in Los Angeles.
We're having our small wedding at an AirBnB cabin and staying the weekend! The owner has a pavilion on the property for the reception, and the land is just gorgeous! Only thing I'm struggling with is there isn't enough space in the pavilion for the table and chairs AND a dance floor, so trying to figure that out.
HELLO BEAUTIFUL. We have about 17 days left until our wedding! I hit the "We should have eloped" phase about 2 weeks ago... But we worked thru it lol anyways, we rented our venue, a beautiful, tree filled, private park in Pa, & it was only $400!!! Tables, chairs, 2 buildings, & a pavilion included... for the whole weekend. U just have to think outside of the box. Same time next week?! 💕
Yesss! We rented a beautiful lake house on Airbnb for our wedding! For the low price of $150 a night! Yes super cheap 🙌 Beware though, with Airbnb you run the risk of the host CANCELING your event. In the event this should happen to us. Which, *knocks on wood* I hope not 🤞 lol we’ve come up with a backup plan!
Additional ideas: Campsites, Art Galleries, Barns/storage buildings, Cabins, Churches, Many hotels have garden areas and event spaces (even Holiday Inns)
The most elegant wedding and reception I've ever attended was in an art gallery in downtown Los Angeles. Very few chairs & benches (just for older people), no kids (a stipulation of the gallery), wonderful huge cold appetizer table, wedding cake (made by me, a pastry chef), champagne, soft drinks, water, coffee & tea. It took place in the late afternoon, didn't last overly long, and was really fabulous. Sometimes less is more.
My boyfriend and I have already discussed what where gonna do. My church has a school that goes with it, (it's not in use anymore but my church still uses it as our family center for bible studies, banquets, etc) And church members get a discount for renting out the gym, or room. I think my parents only spent $300 to rent the gym.
I'm having my wedding at a wedding chapel in Los Angeles, very inexpensive. No one ever gives tips about those. But it's beautiful, all inclusive and you can have your reception there as well.
Hey Jamie! Love the video! Could you possibly do a video on how to prioritize or organize a wedding at a venue that gives you little to no restrictions? I feel like too many options could almost be a bad thing. Thanks!
Maybe as not an “inexperience” but definitely as a great unthought of idea a cruise would be a cool place or even looking into the idea of getting the restaurant as a space to do it, half of the infrastructure is already there and if it’s on a time that they don’t normally have much people coming in that will be a win-win situation
Another avenue to explore in the same vein as community centers: Event Halls belonging to fraternal organizations like Elks, Eagles, Knights of Columbus, VFW, etc. these can be hit or miss as sometimes they are on the dingey side but some are beautiful! They tend to be cheap and usually even have a bar & bartender included too.
Restaurants! Some restaurants will close their doors for your particular day , tho they do tend to want to do the catering and ECT , but it saves having to do rentals cuz most will include their own usage of items that they have ,and even some have back patios that can be transformed into a ceremony space
I used to work in a zoo and SO many people got married there! It's to the point that the zoo has specific rooms and catering etc. for weddings, so it's basically a regular wedding venue now lol.
Down the street from me, they have an old Coca Cola factory turned wedding venue; they also converted the historic post office into a wedding venue. Both super gorgeous!!!
Another addition to the "government owned" section: historical buildings! Smaller historical buildings that are owned by the city are great options for a beautiful space for not as much money!
Planetariums! That's where we are doing our ceremony! The reception is located downstairs as the whole event space is in our local Union Station in KCMO
I am getting married in a restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. It has a gorgeous view of the mountains and we are only paying for food and drinks, not a venue fee. Woo!
Because I live in nyc everywhere is so expensive to get married. Even botanical gardens. We're getting married up in the Catskills at a air bnb location but it was still pricey compared to anything you're suggesting 😩. PS where is your wedding video!!? Would love to see it!!
A great place for a small reception could be a restaurant that the couple loves. We got married on a beautiful public Bridge that was used to access ski hills on the other side but since it was in the summertime they didn't charge us for that space at all. And then we talked to the owners of the pub at that Ski Resort and asked if we could do the reception there. We had to push our reception time back a little bit further than what we would have liked but it made the whole perception incredibly cheap because the pub already had a DJ so for a wedding with 30 guests we paid $1,200 in total
Try Knight of Columbus or American Legion halls if you're literally just looking for nothing more than a big indoor space. They're usually really cheap ($100-$200/hr).
I've followed you for years and appreciate all the advise and ideas you give out! Your uploads on Tuesday evenings spark so much joy for me. I think I've watched most if not all of your videos, but if you ever run out of ideas, can you delve into a restaurant reception? Especially for restaurants that don't regularly host wedding receptions? I'm thinking about a public park wedding then going to a restaurant for dinner/lunch (haven't decided timing yet), but wondering what logistics are involved. Ballpark costs to rent out the restaurant? I assume it's more than just adding up the dishes you want from their menu. I know some of these are probably difficult to answer accurate but I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you again for all that you do!
My husband and I got married in a Victorian cemetery (and no it wasn't a goth kind of wedding!). Where we live there's this beautiful Victorian cemetery that's essentially in the middle of a woodland and they have a wooden structure in the middle of it where you can get married. If was magical! For our reception we hired an old fire station turned cafe' with massive red fire doors and a really chilled vibe. A bit different but was definitely able to add a lot of personal touches and make it our own!
When we started venue hunting I really wanted the whole barn wedding dealio with an outdoor ceremony. Sadly a majority of the ones in our area were out of our price range. So instead of having the whole wedding at a barn we just found one to take our photos at! So it still looks like I had a barn wedding when we really just borrowed one. And my husband was happy because we ended up going with an indoor ceremony and reception that was in our budget. Compromise!
Where I live there is a few community centers that everyone gets married at. Looking, my fiancé and I were not thrilled about getting married at the place his cousin just had the year prior. But they just built a brand new center RIGHT near our church and bam! They had even built a bigger one further away for about the same price but we couldn't bring in our own food. It's literally soooo nice I am floored and SO affordable!! Less than 1,000 and while not huge hey less people I have to buy food for hahaha
Girl, I NEEDED this video! In the throes of venue searching right now and the venue I'm in love with is $6,200 baseline price 😭😭 And The Knot calls that "affordable"!
Caitlin Jenkins Same. I couldn’t believe it when - literally 3 days ago - I found an incredible venue open on a Saturday date summer 2020, at a county park. An amazing modern building with 20-foot tall floor to ceiling window wall overlooking a lake. And free ample parking. $1600 total!
Whenever me and my boyfriend talk about a wedding he always says he wants it at a animal sanctuary but I would not even know where to start planning that 😥
You can have a beautiful wedding with it being cheap looking. Just pick the right fabric for your decor and cake. Finding a great grown, should look until find the right one for you.
I absolutely agree that you need to tell your Airbnb host you are having a wedding. However I did this and the host told me it would be an additional $1,000. My wedding is only having 11 people in total (this includes the officiant, photographer, fiancé and myself). It’s a very small wedding with only parents and siblings. I found a new place that I love but I am afraid the same thing will happen. I do not understand why the additional cost is necessary as the host would not be providing anything additional for my wedding. There would be a dinner after but no dance party or anything loud and wild. If anyone has any advice on this topic I would love it!
Ashley Johnson I think since you’re having such a small wedding you shouldn’t tell the air bnb host. Usually weddings will have 50+ people which would have more restrictions for these airbnb host but I highly doubt a party of 11 would warrant so many issues
Check your local historical society too! A local organization run out of a beautiful historical house rents out the entire house for $150 for the whole day.
Does anyone have venue suggestions that include cabins or another type of sleeping arrangements for the family?? I’m looking for state parks and other places! We’re okay with destination weddings and want something smaller, but preferably in the south east !
I’ve always wanted to have my wedding at a conservatory/ greenhouse (mostly for the large windows and glass of it all) I live in NYC and anything of that sort (at this moment) feels wayyy out of pocket
Churches are a cheap venue. Even if you aren't a member the fee for most churches is pretty cheap. Tip is to ask if you need to clean up after or if you can pay an extra fee for someone else to clean up.
I just had my wedding on August 25th, 2019!! Could you do a video on how to change names after the wedding? Our coordinator gave me a really cool website that has all the documents to help change my name! LOVE your videos, I'm still watching even after our wedding :P
I used Hitchswitch to change my name, it just autofills in your generic information automatically into the correct forms. It also has directions. And the package I used was only $35 and included more than I needed

Sarah Ransom what is a nature preserve? A park?
What nature preserve
Jamie Wolfer I just got some prints to my hubs, and he still says it’s like a dream looking at the photos! It was so magical ✨
Oh my gosh I’m in TN And I have been struggling to find a venue for my wedding !!!
So true! We looked at a historic site park here in Canada and while the rental fee was cheap, with all of the things we would have to bring in it ended up being just as much as a regular venue and 20 times
more work.
I would love to see a winter wedding tips video. A lot of these places are meant to be outdoors which isn't easily done in the winter.
Could you do a video on destination weddings? Do you have any experience or tips? Or youtuber recommendations?
My fiance and I are doing our wedding at a conservation area in our city.
It is about $300 for 8 hours.
We get the whole pavilion and the outdoor area surrounding the building
Where is that?
We are looking in California. Thanks
@@HolisticTraumaTherapy OH I am from Canada
And we ended up with something different as our venue wasn't returning any of our emails or calls.
Love this video! My fiance's brother just got married at a theater company who's stage was in the middle of a hazelnut orchard and it was STUNNING! There's tons of places and organizations that are willing to help you out on that day - don't be afraid to ask!!!
I'm going to get married in October at a gazebo at a Community Center! It only cost me $400! Sooooo inexpensive!
Where?
Hi Jamie!
Long time lurker, first time commenter, lol
I was wondering if you could make a video about “Rehearsal dinner etiquette” or what to go over during rehearsal time with your venue.
Would also appreciate your opinion on the best way to do/display a seating chart. I’ve been going back and forth with individual table seatings vs a sign posted with general table assignments. What works best for guests?
Thank you for all your do, girl.
Bre Doty yes!!!
Then a seperate rehearsal dinner 101 video 😍😍😍
Yea!! I don’t know anything about rehearsal dinners so a video would be helpful!
I’m getting married at a government “barn”. It’s just like all the $10,000/day barns in the area but we get it for $1,500 for 3 days. SO NICE.
Katelynn Strupp WHERE?! My head is spinning with so much planning! This sounds amazing, congratulations!
Sounds amazing!! My head also spins with ideas! I wish we would’ve found a barn like place but everything around us is sooo expensive!
What is a government barn? How to I search this up to see if any are available in my area?
JaymeM23 look at your county fairgrounds! That’s where mine was
I'll add my comment for anyone in San Diego that may be here! As I'm sure you know, Southern California isn't inexpensive! We had our wedding at the Coronado Community Center, didn't sound the most appealing but hands down gorgeous. Our biggest cost was catering/bartending, then photography, venue fee, videographer, etc. In that order. This was easily the least expensive option for us in this area, I could've gotten a less expensive photographer, but photography was very important to me and the pictures turned out gorgeous!
madisenkahlee I was looking for a San Diego comment, thank you!
I was also looking for a San Diego suggestion! Thanks! Who did you use for a photographer?
A Science Museum near my home can be rented for weddings. Not even in a relationship but daaaang that would be amazing😱❤️
Movie theaters or bowling alleys even skating rinks roller or ice could also be awesome unquie places for a wedding
Did anyone else hear vow renewal at a botanical garden? For her... No just me? Lol
I totally did think of that for her when she said it ugh!
We are getting married at a small ski center so our ceremony is right on top of the mountain over looking the adirondacks it only cost us 1200 for the reception area and 650 for the ceremony it’s beautiful and cheap their catering is also only $39 a head it’s insane how perfect this place is
Which ski area are you doing it at?
We are looking for a place in the Adirondacks area!
$100 for the park, $400 for the grange. we spent around 500 on rental tables chairs etc.
I'm getting married in May 2020 and we live in Nevada. We are getting married at an old ghost town. It's so cool and the photo opps are endless.
a welch sounds cool!
Hi Jamie,
I love your videos and I've been watching since the beginning.
Thanks
@@kirstyash7590 thank you! Our wedding is not until September 2020, so I can't help out too much sadly! I wish you luck with your planning!
Ive seen some awesome weddings in airport hangars...pretty inexpensive depending on where you go..
What do you think about beaches as a venue? Does anyone have any experience getting married on a beach? Thanks !
If my SO or I were actually bookworms I’d do a library wedding in a heartbeat. I’ve seen so many gorgeous historic libraries that I die over.
I am getting married at my local park. It has a little pond area, carousel, train, patio, and small amphitheater. I'm super excited. With the refundable deposit back it is less than $400 for 6 hours with tables and chairs included
We are planning on getting married in an old train station that’s out of service now. It’s really rustique and charming.
Probably handled clean up
I’m getting married at a soccer stadium.. a lot of sporting event stadiums have big event rooms!
I will be viewing a Peerspace location Saturday for $102 an hour, which is honestly the best deal for a venue that holds 120 people that I have seen in my search. I truly recommend Peerspace. It is going to save me over 4k from the "average venue cost" in Los Angeles.
A lot of college s and universities have large halls you can hire, most can provide catering as well and the venue fee usually isn't that much either.
C. Reese can you share the name of the venue??
The grounds of your college! As an alumni, they will accomodate you!
Ugh we looked at the botanical garden in brooklyn which is STUNNING but their venue fee was $11,000 😭
We just got married in Central Park last week and it was perfect! Depends on how big your event is, but we loved it!
I heard the bronx has a really nice botanical garden too. Might be worth checking out.
We're actually getting married in the finger lakes region next september!
Wouldn't the cost of renting chairs, generators, etc end up offsetting what one would save on some of these inexpensive venues?
I'm getting married at my childhood church/garden (free) but I watched this video anyway because I just love listening to you talk!
49k as of this video, I'm so amazed!! Last time i checked, we were at 46k so WOOOOW CONGRATULATIONS!
Compromise!
Yay state parks ! :) mine is going to be in may at Pickett state park and it was 300 for a beautiful building with full kitchen tables and chairs :)
We’ve been blessed to be able to do it at my fiancé’s parents house, but the tables chairs etc sure adds up quick 😭
How about a beach? I know I’m Australia atleast you can get pretty cheap prices on beach permits for weddings
SD ZOO & SAFARI PARK is very expensive BUT all guests get admission to the zoo OR Safari park as well
Check your local historical society too!
Dance Studios and some hotel conference rooms are really nice sizes and allow you to bring your own food
Love love love the Airbnb idea!! THank you!
One place you can look at if you are having a small wedding is an indoor butterfly garden house.
@@sadieann1036 that's awesome! I use MissNowMrs.
