Most probably you are misjudging the conditions from your comfy warm couch. Tight space, terrain slope with deep snow, big difference in wind speed during the inflation phase, air density, generally the height above sea level and a bit of nervousness all add up. It’s not quite a beginner's hill 😉

Risk management is the most important factor, not perfection. The conditions weren't easy, but they weren't particularly risky either... Thanks to regular groundhandling experience, it was easier to judge what and how to try or not to try in such conditions. All attempts and launches were safe. Again; the conditions up there were not much like what you would typically encounter in groundhandling: Tight space, hitting a cable with the topsail, no wind on the ground but lots of wind in the upper power zone with a significant vertical component caused by the edge in the terrain, snow, high altitude... But that's OK, you can certainly judge better from your sofa and shout haa-haa like Nelson Muntz from the Simpson's. We could have simply cut out the scenes. But we wanted to show that it can sometimes be a bit tricky up there. Maybe it will help others to decide whether they want to make the journey to this launch site or not.
