Guy and Lee were the only ones who kept the theme from the beginning of the story about how hard work beats natural talent, if they had a less comedy-oriented personality either one could have made a good protagonist.
As a child, I thought Gai was this weird comic relief character. But as an adult, he’s one of my favorite characters. He fights with everything he’s got and lives with all of his heart. He is truly a splendid ninja!

Guy didn’t have it in him to kill in cold blood if it meant protecting the village, something obviously Kakashi and Itachi had no problem doing. His horrified reaction to Itachi executing the wounded but still alive enemy ninjas say it all and he finally understands the true nature of the ANBU.
It very good if we can have both hard work and natural talent ,but if we have to pick one of those I can’t complain that hard work will beat natural talent . As RONALDO said talent without work hart is nothing 😉.
When watching the show, I never understood why everybody in the show was disturbed by it, I always thought that them embracing each other was just so endearing!
He is also the most parental sensei out everyone. He remains unbiased and still give compassion to other team kids. The way he trained his own team also still the same level as their age and skill, unlike Kakashi's bell test. He is an amazing person. Him and Kakashi also unseperable. He always in time to save KAkashi, vice versa. It also helped kakashi to deal w feelings too and in the end, be more open and relaxed. Thank you Dai for raising such man
Might Guy went from someone I found creepy as a kid to really loving as a character as I grew up. He had such a good relationship with Lee we all rightfully was under the impression that Guy was Lee’s father. Let’s be honest, it would be nice if there were more people with Guy’s genuine personality and perseverance. He’s a great balance and optimistic force for all who he involves himself in.
Bruh that fight of gaara and Lee was so impacted just him recounting it and the ending with guy comforting Lee and telling him he's a splendid ninja. Shit almost got me shedding tears again. Just shows how amazing that whole fight and aftershock was.

One of the crazy parts of Guy sensei is that he mastered a difficult ninjutsu in Summoning, which is established as highly difficult and rare among most ninja and only the most powerful ninja use summoning. His ninjutsu slaps he just prefers to punch and kick, it's great!
Guy vs Madara was hands down my favorite fight in the series. Night Guy is one of the greatest attacks in the shows history in my opinion. And the fact that Madara acknowledges him as the greatest taijutsu user he has ever seen is a testament to how absolutely rank Guy is.
Based on what lee did during the chuinin exams gai doesn't need to go above 3 gates to take on a tail beast. Sure if hes going to fight 8 tails or 9 tails he would need to unleash 6 to 7 gates. It really depends on his opponents ability. Guy is moving a speeds and throwing punches most opponents cant respond to or tank.

Gaara was defeated by Naruto headbutting him thus making him unconscious. I think one of Gai punches would be enough to do the same. But against Bee or Utakata, Gai might need 6-7 gates yes.
