I usually don't use the Edge with an external display (mostly because you have to take the controller off to do it), but I did a little testing and here's what I found: 1) The Android home screen will display letterboxed on a 16:9 display (you get 20:9 output - by default the device mirrors what's on the Edge's own display) 2) Apps that are themselves aware of external displays (like VLC) will output to the external display at the display-correct aspect ratio (VLC on the Edge outputs 16:9 to a 16:9 display) 3) A quick search through the Settings menu didn't turn up options for changing external display properties. Hope this helps!
Had my eye on this always but especially since price drop. If I wasn't able to have the devices I have and could only have one device it would probably be this.
I'm enjoying the Edge more than I thought I would. The combination of "big screen and nice controls" and "folds down to fit in a case the size of a Retroid Pocket case" is pretty appealing for sticking in my bag and taking to work. Especially at the new price point.
So far I haven't had issues with not having enough RAM to play what I want to play on here, but there's not a virtual memory (swap file) option on here like you have on the Odin 2. But if you want to do heavy Switch emulation or Winlator, you might have issues with not having enough RAM.
@@turtlecoast1921 At the moment, I think the only way you can force native Android apps onto the microSD card would be to root the device - the option to move apps to the microSD is not enabled on the current system software. It’s not really an issue when you’re using the Edge as an emulation device, but it could get cramped in internal storage if you’re a gacha enjoyer!

How does it handle HDMI output? Other reviews I saw say it has rarher bad letterboxing. Did they patch that or is it still present?

if some game need above 6gb ram, that means this device didn't work ?

can u install android games in external sd card?
it only has 126GB internal storage, we have big amount android games nowadays.
