      India didn't build anything. The rail from UAE to the Saudi border linking with other GCC countries is Etihad Rail which is contracted to China Construction Engineering and SK Engineering. India has no experience in the construction of railroads in the desert.

      Piraeus is 67% or more owned by China's COSCO company and part of it is used by China as a naval base there. Stop making a fool of yourself again by saying India is in talks about Piraeus.     This corridor is for smaller cargoes. Suez Canal cargo rates are four times higher per tonne on a small ship compared to a large as there are a fixed number of ships that can transit the canal per day. The transit takes two days despite being just 160 km. Ships transit in convoys at a fixed speed and stop over night. 3 days are probably lost to the transit in good circumstances. Obviously, cargo to Egypt would not use the canal. We can say the Semitic countries od West Asia don't want to be beholden to Egypt for the transit of good. However, the rail line capacity is tiny compared to the can capacity.

    The Dubai railway project was started 10 years ago. And it has nothing to do with this current idea which is just on papers.
    Uae had built the railway, it was part of the project in which all the gulf arab nations will connect railways

      This video is BS...building railway takes years to complete, not to mention building railway across desert. India has no experience in building railways, all the railways in India were built by British India 150 years ago. India even engaged Japan to build HSR railway, how can India build such a long railway route across desert within a few months? I think all on paper only. Talk the walk rather than walking the talk.

    Economically not viable, because for India taking Red sea route is the cheapest one. But for US and the west if there is a blockade of strait of Bab el Mandeb take place , they can use it as an alternative route for trade. That's why. For the west Asia is good because it develops infrastructure over the region but for India its just a gimmick like and costly transportation mode.

      It would be so so less than ship route ! It would be run on double stack electric trains that electricity is gonna come from solar energy (unlimited energy) 🎉
      And adjustable cranes are always made to load unload trains efficiently its one of the earliest and easiest work ! 🎉 its also shorter route ! It will be so so cheaper than existing hectic Suez route (also now houthies there in red sea ) so now this route which is away from houthies area sea route which gonna make it now more appealing🎉😂😊

    It's a stupid idea to load and unload cargo at 4 sea ports ie Mumbai/Dubai/Haifa/Greece PLUS load/ unload for the train Transit through Saudi Arabia. More Practical is direct single trip ship cargo transit from Mumbai to Greece or any other European country via Suez. All politics in the name of innovation.

    Most of my friends here talkin about dis project knowing nothing in deep. After USA n China India exports d most to d UAE n Saudi Arabia. Where it will affect dis transport timing n logistics cost hugely. Dere after network is just an alternative to suez canal .
