this is genius ….so many breakthroughs in new thinking/understanding come from people willing to do a deep dive (books from the 20’s?!?)…..I started this game in my late 30’s and feel like I did most of your teachings naturally back then…..I have spent 1000’s of hours and $$$ to destroy all that naturalness……now I’m in my mid 70’s and all this is bringing me back to the original swing….hitting it further without injury and enjoying the game again……thank you so much……
Roger, thank you for sharing all of this great information. You obviously spent a tremendous amount of time and energy studying the golf swing, so I plan to keep my eyes and ears open. Listen to and watch you carefully! Thanks again!
Have to agree with this comment I'll continue to myself alot if online popularity I can see very good teachings , definately in the mike Austin mold of thinking, definately agree it works
Good stuff. I've also watched thousands of videos, I agree with you 100% people make golf more difficult. If you concentrate on your circles, it makes it easier than focusing on the ball. 👍
Great content! Candid and clear. Mentioning your study of some of the greats - it would make a good video series to distill key aspects of some of the great books. With quotes and a demonstration. Sounds like you have a busy week - an idea for the future maybe.
Correct 100 percent , the feeling of throwing the club should be enough to get all this set correctly and timed up properly . The least thing anyone should be thinking about is weight and pressure distribution through the 1/2 second golf swing 😊 if i get quick i practice a few throws , if i get steep , shallow or anything i get a reset with a few throw motions . The clubface , release and attack angle ( or hand position through impact ) is a minutely variable constant 🤪 thats what needs a pre shot thought . In my humble opinion ❤
Rodger, interesting l taught a hammer thrower olympic level,he was 65 years old ,got to a 3 handicap in 3 years , l always wondered about that Regards Robin Australia
Brilliant, 40 years of trying to find the magic bullet: turn in a barrel, one piece takeaway bla bla bla BS! Took your ball on a string concept out to the course yesterday and never hit the ball so well. Thank You so much. Grateful Aussie. Please do a short game series on chipping.
Excellent info! Love it. Looking forward to seeing your content next week. Thank you for the work you’re putting into this, I’m getting a little something new from each video. Some I view more than once👍🏻👊🏻🙏🏻
I have watch loads of YT vids and I mean loads I came across ur excellent vid ref the trail arm and hands move the club So I tried the trail arm to the target in the down swing Ok Not every ball was a success however with just one thought ie trail arm in the downswing Much better results on the driving Range 100 balls 70 were as u demonstrated I will continue to watch ur instructions Appreciated GDT
Great content...my problem is coming over the top and pulling ball left...both long woods and short irons. I am ready to quit golf as this is no fun. Perhaps you can provide a tip or do a video on this fault. I have tried every swing trying to hit out but nothing works. Thanks much.
I feel your frustratrion and will do . I do have the answer . There really is never an over the top move , it is just a counterbalance to the club being out of balance and the body having to compensate . The good news is that its usually only 2 ways . 1) That the club is layed off behind you and the body usually by an over turn of the body(see right leg only drill) and 2) that your weight is on the left leg at the top of the swing and so therefore the weight counterbalances and goes to the right leg on the downswing . This usually occurs from keeping the head down and not allowing it to rotate (the chin , not the whole head) on the backswing and follow Through
Me again😊, so here we go, so for a chip or really short shot where you don't go back far can you stay on your left side. I was thinking in the full swing you shift to the right at the start then you start to shift back to the left as the club passes parallel at the top and actually goes forward above your shoulder. So since it has to move backwards to swing down that is why you shift back to your right toe and then you shift left as the club is passing you going forward.
You can just stay left and have zero shift to right foot and ball would be opposite your left toe ... But you don't have to Club in middle of the body you have to pressure shift .. but should be natural if swinging a weight feel
Like your content. Based upon what you have seen from all the higher handicap golfers you have observed and or coached- any main reasons a person struggles to bottom out the swing consistently? Fat/thin…I always hear the fix is to maintain one’s posture. But as you show throwing swinging club requires body to react to the swing of the club. Any thoughts you can share is greatly appreciated
Yes sir if your weight is on your left foot towards to top/transition the ground Will throw you right and you will have to release the angle and will hit fat or thin . Try first the ankle rolling or heels lifting to push the ground and see if that reverses it . Also see my swing the clubhead with a weight on a string To swing the weight you have to have a little momentum going towards the target to move it un interrupted on its path Once an object starts in motion stays in motion and your body will counterbalance
Do you have a view on the design of a golf club that it “naturally “ wants to rotate “ open and closed “ as there is more weight in the heel than in the toe of the golf club. Thanks.
@rkswingking so would you say your driver is centre of stance roger or just slightly ahead like a iron just wonder your views on this club and the 3wood and 5 wood positions
@rkswingking it does answer question roger thanks just went to simulator short irons hit few shanks think I was trying to much but 9 iron down great average 140 mph ball speed driver , pretty much 130 to 140 ball speed for 3wood 5 wood driver , 97 or 98 mph body speed

Thanks for the idea !
Common sense Golf teaching with a very natural body movement! Many times I’m almost paralyzed by swing thought! I’m heading to the range
Great... have fun
Brilliant. Many thanks.
You are welcome!
WOW that's an eye opener! Thank you!

Thank you sir! Also thank you for replying back to me so quickly in the email!
You bet!
Simple kinetic understanding applied to a golf swing . Simple Simon could be a good golfer
Agreed
brilliant explanation
Thanks for that!
EXCELLENT!! What exactly is your swing trigger?- A bump of left hip? Thank You
Watch my newest video it goes over this question and so much more

this makes alot of sense, its alot about what mike austin talked about aswell
100%
I am so sold.
😁
Use the Force Young Skywalker 😅
Yes
Brilliant Mind.
Thank you 😊

I just feel the entire weight of the club . I couldn't tell you exactly that
100 correct Roger
😁😁😁😁
Clearly its in right toe its simply gravity science motion etc
It’s like every sports throwing motion
@rkswingking so would you say your driver is centre of stance roger or just slightly ahead like a iron just wonder your views on this club and the 3wood and 5 wood positions
Driver ball position and setup. Long drive guys and you .

You just confused the heck out of me! You are all over the place............, man!
