@@hawksfan4800 Feel ya mate. They say there's only one Tony Lockett, well there was only one Shane Warne!
Best spin bowler ever. Hands down. Don't care for Murali, Warne didn't play against Bangladesh every year 😂.
He played for St. Kilda's u/19s, good player from all accounts. Got a call up to the reserves. This story is hilarious...
Turns out he was on the wing and his opponent put on the burners and took 4 bounces and sailed a goal through the sticks. He didn't chase hard enough and was benched for his lack of effort. He said something along the lines of "that was the day I realised I wanted to persue cricket, too much running in footy." First and last game for the reserves. 😂
God he was a legend. What a character too. A cunning tactician who could enter the minds of the opposing batters. Also, 'The Gatting Ball?' First ball on English soil and he does that?! Iconic.

@@rajas.v240 That was savage buddy..Served the fucker well...
Good to see genuinely nice blokes getting a 6 fer. And they were all good bowling too. He got them out. Plus a wicket in the first innings and 2 catches. Pretty big game.
All up 7 wickets with technically 3 catches, what an effort !
and at one stage he was 5 for 5 AND there was also a possible missed catch earlier too:-)
And you don't realise how good of a ball that one that got Root actually was till you watch that close up. Angled in with the arm, perfect length to get the drive and decks off the pitch. An absolute Jaffa.
I'll never forget the thrill of watching this live. This was no fluke, Scott bowled every bit as well as his figures reflect. Unfortunately time and years have the final say and we will likely not see him again. He claimed his place in history and that's better than most of us will ever do.

I remember Boland being part of a pace attack of Tremain, Worrall, Mennie and Hastings that came out with the Aussies to SA for an ODI series at the end of 2016, and they got hammered 5-0 themselves. Nice for him that he got to be part of an Ashes winning test match in the end. What a story!

Being an England fan I have to say that Australia have been absolutely on fire and have battered England since day one and totally deserve to be where they are in this series so I salute them and give them credit where credit is due 👏. On England, well, I have to say that they’ve been absolutely dreadful in every single way, bar a couple of individual performances I’d have to say this is one of the worst England teams I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few, English cricket needs a total overhaul, it’s not just about white ball, it’s about all 3 formats, we have to learn from the Aussies, India and New Zealand in that respect that it is possible to be good at all 3 formats at once, I’m afraid in our pursuit of one day glory we’ve seriously let the test format hang out to dry and that’s unforgivable, any true cricket fan will always say Test match cricket is true cricket, so until England realise that I’m afraid we will be in test decline for a few years yet, but once again well done Australia
Root and Stokes seem to be the only ones doing anything when it comes to the bat
Fair points and true . The Poms have focused so much on white ball stuff( with obvious success) they have forgotten everything else. Test cricket 🏏 is how your remembered. With the obvious exception of World cups etc
@@silmarienprince3137 yes, England never seem to find a right ballance, it is possible to be good in all 3 formats as India, Australia and New Zealand are all proof off that, I hate to say it but I think there’s a certain arrogance among English cricket, not the players but the hierarchy above them, there needs to be a big re-think and overhaul with the system in this country, what astounds me is the fact that guys like us can see all this but the ECB can’t, we need to stop looking at stats and start looking at technique and mentality for a start, I mean, when you look at guys like Labuschagne and Smith they are not easy on the eye but boy can they bat, and they bat long, they have the attitude of wanting to bat all day every day and will never give away their wickets, I’d love guys like that in the England team, every player has he’s own individual technique and that’s so important I feel, the best thing to happen to England now will be to get absolutely annihilated in the next two tests which will open the cracks even further
@@priorsc1978 mate England have just been terrible and Australian have just been good.
@@Phil_McAvity agree mate, I think Australia are a very underrated side, their bowling attack is first class and clearly they have superb talent on the sidelines
People who say test cricket is boring are idiots. I will come back to watch this every day!
Pattinson was waiting for his long awaited chance but was unable to break in as pace bowling trio was fully fit. As soon as Pattinson announced his retirement, Neser and Boland got chance to debut and Richardson made successful comeback to the side..

Pattinson would have made nearly any other test team in the world. It was unfortunate that he was so injured and missed out majority of his test career.

There are two words mouthed by every Ashes Test cricketer today and they are "Scott Boland". to even consider the prospect of not bowling him in the fourth Test would be a blight on the selectors, an insult to Australian supporters and a devastation to our chances of another historic cleansweep of the series. how can you not allow your Pharlap of fast bowling to play?

No other team in the cricket world is more apt in smelling spilled blood on the pitch than Australia.
They received a tonne of criticism in the formative and rebuilding years after some of the biggest stalwarts bid adeau to the game, but they have bounced right back in and have a firm grip on the game by the scruff of its neck.
The leadership of Justin Langer has pivoted the team to great heights once again in the game. This is the reason, you can never, ever underestimate the Australian Cricket Team.
True Champions!!
I agree.
It was truly a once in a lifetime team twenty years ago which will be hard to match, but when you least expect it they pull back in with some of the best cricket you’re likely to see.

There was a dropped catch off his bowling as well, but presumably he gotthimmm yes eventually.
Can't believe what is happening with England who are so prolific in limited overs, just as pathetic in test cricket. 🙄
This is why we should rotate bowlers based on venue/form. We have the depth, we just need to use it correctly.
It’s hard not to pick Cummins, Hazlewood and Stark for every game if they are fit. The only reason Bolton got a test cap is because Hazlewood is injured.
