fenderplayer thank you a lot for your comment! The Çifteli is not related from the Turkish. It is an albanian Instrument with two strings. Çift means in albanian double / pair and Teli means string. So it is an old tradition two string instrument made from wood. This instrument is also used a lot while singing traditional songs about the Albanien history or lovestories.
mirmrâma, i just started Qifteli playing ( and gheg dialect too) with one diatonic made in peja by himzi zekaj. very inspiring playing, do you think is possible to play that piece with a diatonic qifteli ? thank a lot.
