I appreciate that Mike. Thank you for stopping in. Hoping to start uploading a lot more content really soon. Also, I am on the Pit Boss Grills channel on the Backyard Bosses playlist. Come see what we have to offer there as well.
I've just come across your channel & have been thinking of doing a brisket, which is not something we tend to cook in Scotland, however you have certainly inspired me to do it. Great channel 😊
Thanks for doin' this man, that's some good information. I've got one on order, so your cooks have been invaluable. Considering you went the first 11 hours at a low temperature that cooked fairly quickly. The graph of the overnight temps was pretty impressive. Keep up the good work.
@TheDawgfathasBBQ 10-4. I just wondered if we could fill the bottom fully with Charcoal, and us diffuser plates. That way I could do 2 racks of ribs, 2 small pork butt's, or a large brisket.
Damn, bud...making me miss my smoker right now! And all of a sudden I had the idea to make my own channel. I'm imagining writing off on my taxes all those briskets and ribs and still getting to eat them. 😉 That Spider Grill Huntsman is looking like a great grill as well. I like the K.I.S.S. method you use (keep it simple, stupid 😛); nothing too fancy, just straight-forward cooking and good eats. Outstanding as usual...keep 'em coming! 😀
Thanks for the video. First whole brisket video I’ve seen on the Huntsman. I’m amazed at how efficient it is with the charcoal. 11hrs without a reload! That’s better than my WSM! Can you guess at how many pounds you used? Supposed to get mine in august, hoping they stay on schedule.
I cook on a Weber kettle (which I love) and have been thinking about a Masterbuilt for overnight set it and forget it, but now this is coming out. Decisions….
Thanks for reaching out. So I've never cooked on the Hasty Bake Legacy cooker. I have cooked on other direct heat cookers, however. It honestly comes down to the style of cook you are. What kinds of cooks will you do on the cooker and which cooker provides you with the most versatility? I don't think you could go wrong either way.
@ Thank you for getting back. I normally use a OKJ Bronco to smoke and grill. It’s a great barrel smoker, but they’re REALLY lacking as a grill. I’m really looking for a one time buy grill. I’m a quality assurance supervisor for a living, which has made me a very cautious buyer. Thanks again for the reply. 😎👍
@@virginiacamper SWEET!!! Let me know how you like it and/or if you have any issues. Not sure if it is worth doing, but if you mentioned to them that I sent you maybe you might get an extra perk out of the deal. For a while they were throwing in the battery pack during the roll out. Let me know how that works out for you.
Curious. Spider Grills says you do not need the slow and sear with the Venom. Do you find you get better results using the S & S? Particularly curious in regards to the Huntsman as with my limit understanding you should get better heat control. BTW -- your Brisket turned out excellent!
Thank you for watching and commenting. From past experiences, I tend to believe that concentrating the coals to one place increases efficiency. I typically always use a SnS or the Weber baskets or something.
I'm wondering what the clearance is on this between the grates and the lid. Specifically, could one smoke a whole turkey (14 lbs or so) on this or would you have to stick with a breast or spatchcocked/boned out turkey?
Thanks for reaching out. As for the accessory, no it won't work on the Huntsman as far as I know. Spider Grills has developed their own rotisserie for the Huntsman however. Hope that helps.
Awesome!!! Hopefully you used the discount code DAWGFATHA to get a free battery for your Venom when you ordered. I think the battery is a must for me. As for the SnS, I think it is a personal preference. You could absolutely run this grill without it and I think you would be fine. I've always liked using something to gather my coals together to increase efficiency which is why I use it. I'd say run your unit without it to try it out. If you feel like you need a little more efficiency afterwards, it's easy enough to remedy.
Who in their right mind would spend that type of money on a unit like this. Not me. There are better lower cost options. And yes it would include more of your hands on.
I’m new to your channel your buddy Charlie told me about you when I said I got a huntsman. Nice cook really diggin your videos! Happy New Year.
Welcome aboard brother. Appreciate it. Hopefully you are enjoying that Huntsman. Happy New Year!
Don’t get me wrong The Huntsman looks like a solid built unit. I think the spider venom controller on a 26 inch kettle is more bang for your buck
Haven't watched your videos for a while, but you're still doing the same great job that I remember from before. Thank you.

Thank you! Go for it. I'm sure you already know. Nothing like cooking on the grill ANYTIME!!
I didn't need this vid to validate my purchase, but it sure does help! Great content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great episode, the best BBQ channel on UA-cam, I love your cool, calm, collected approach. Awesome

Appreciate that bro. I just talked to my guys at Spider Grills and learned that the battery can actually run 24 hours!!!
Cannot wait for these to become available in the UK!
Hopefully it won't be too long. I know you'll love it!!!
Fantastic work! Love the video! Thank you!!!
making me want this more !
Good looking brisket Alton. Smooth cook. Just a couple things missing, my dinner invite and " The Intro " !
Next time! lol Appreciate you my man...
My brother...great looking Brisket and the Spider grill doing her thing ...pretty impressive. Cheers 🍻
I appreciate it! And yes sir! This grill is awesome!
Great Cook Alton. That Brisket Looks Awesome!!!. Thank you for sharing brother!!!🥲✌✌✌
Any time! And thank you my brother...
Beautiful brisket! Definitely a successful overnight cook👍😊
Yes it was!
Think you can do another brisket but this time with diffuser plates? Im curious to see if it an be done without a slpw n sear.
I don't have the diffuser plates as of yet, but I know for a fact that YES it can be done without the slow and sear.

@@mannymrtz4940 you can.
Turned out great!!! This was a really good test choice! 🔥🔥🔥 The Huntsman is a beast
It really is bro. I'm trying to get my brisket game up there with yours man! Now, I have a not so secret weapon! lol

Perfection 👍🏾 thanks for sharing Alton
My pleasure!! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Great cook on that brisket!
Looks amazing thanks for the video
Really nice cook, as usual, thank you. Just curious why you didn't use the Spider probes in the brisket.

ALWAYS!!! It's the best and most repeatable method to me bro!
Made brisket mac and cheese with this last night. It was 🎉🎉🎉🎉
And it was TASTY!!!
Good looking brisket Dawg!
I appreciate it man. I'm still in pursuit of getting somewhat near your expert level bro!
Thank you, Have you done a port butt on the Huntsman yet?
looks like it did a fantastic job brother! Excellent cook! I like that cooker!
Right on! I definitely love cooking on it as well man.
Great work man
Appreciate it!

Glad it was helpful! Ok, strictly guessing at how many pounds, I'll say maybe 5 pounds or so? It really did run pretty efficiently, I think.
I cook on a Weber kettle (which I love) and have been thinking about a Masterbuilt for overnight set it and forget it, but now this is coming out. Decisions….
I hear you. Stay tuned. I'll be doing a cook soon that will have the Huntsman and the Kettle side by side for an overnight brisket cook.
Love this channel!
Any wood used, or only charcoal?
I’m looking to buy a new grill. Which would you choose, the Spider Grills Huntsman or the Hasty Bake Legacy?

What brand of lump do you use?? Awesome cook 👍
Thanks. I'm using Harder Charcoal these days. Good stuff.
Nice job with this one. I know not messing with the cooker killed you, LOL.

Can’t find your email. I have a request for you if you have the 22 inch Weber Rotisserie attachment to see if it will work with the huntsman
Thanks for reaching out. As for the accessory, no it won't work on the Huntsman as far as I know. Spider Grills has developed their own rotisserie for the Huntsman however. Hope that helps.
I ordered mine with the heat deflector. Do you think I should still get a SnS?

Can or can't?
