- The Yamaha FZ-X is a little brother to some very popular international Yamaha motorcycles, the delectable XSR900 and the equally desirable XSR155 (which is the retro cousin to the YZF-R15!). But, obviously, it’s based on the FZ, which is an Indian legend in its own right, to be sure. But, the question really is, what does the FZ-X do on the street? Is it different enough? Retro enough? Charming enough? Here’s Shumi with all the answers.

TVS Raider having 125 cc engine produces nearly same power (top speed around 100 km/h), provides more mileage, looks better, costs a lot lower and makes a lot more sense than this.

I worked in Yamaha sales department. Customers associated Yamaha with power and speed due to legacy of RX100 and RD350. This became a problem as two' stroke engines were stopped. So Yamaha tried positioning itself in fuel average segment with crux and Libero but couldn't fight with market perception. Instead of building on the legacy of RX and RD it choise to build mid of the road machines. In the meantime Bajaj filled this void with Pulsar and now rules the segment.
Yes, Yamaha did take some odd decisions. Sadly, the bikes they introduced in the commuter segment weren't really bad per se, but the designs were in really bad taste.
They did come back strongly with the R15, FZ 16 and Fazer (the one based on the FZ, not the 125cc abomination). But only the R15 got a proper upgrade with the V2. The rest either deteriorated in the design or got just sticker upgrades. The MT15 is a fun little number, but again people have a lot more choice at that price point. Yamaha seems to have lost their way yet again.
The day isn't far when Yamaha will be making a 100cc bike to compete with the hero splendor 😂😂
That's easy. They only have to revisit their RX-100 model and refine the tech. The modders will sort the body design themselves 😅
They used to make bikes like rx100 Saluto crux etc
@@GaneshKumar-bv2tdyes I know... But looking at what they did with XSR 155 like they absolutely ruined it... I am not sure that they will meet up with expections of the og RX100 fans

Actually they did come up with the Crux, Libero and the Saluto RX110 (lol, using the legendary RX tag on a plane commuter bike). And unsurprisingly, they failed every time.

PowerDrift is late this time.... proud owner of the bike... this bike is really value for money.. great engine..the best thing is it's road presence.
Bikes are my craze. 1965 I used go for office work from coimbatore to Madurai, Mana madùrai, kaliyar koil on office deputation.petrol was1.85₹ per litre, tanks capacity 13litres, the roads were nice and I was 30 yrs age. Myself ànd friend used to go to ooty weekend ,coimbatore to ooty 45mìles. What a life, Jawa 250cc never used to give any mechnical problem. On long holidays self and my friend used to go to Bangalore on bike from Coimbatore. Enjoy some days with parents and brothers and sisters. Bike was cherry red except chain wear out it never brokedown. I used to treat it as one family member. Engine spark timing I used to set it for optimum easy starting. Now I am 77, evennow if I get a chance to ride I will be happy to accrpt. Happy memories. I thank God for giving me a chance to enjoý. LONG LIVE JAWA 250 CC.

Back in 2014 I was a fan of John Abraham and Yamaha and so brought a Yamaha Fazer limited edition
Cut to 7 years and I still love John but not Yamaha anymore though I still in love with my Yamaha as it still runs like new and gives new 125-150cc bikes run for its money thanks to that raw power band the V1 FZ series used to have
But the current Indian product lineup of Yamaha is simply the worst

Though the engine in v3 is brilliant.. but everything apart from that is simply substandard… be it fibre quality, smoothness and what not
V2 was much better in terms of quality and refinement and that R6 inspired design

This design didn't work for me. Yamaha tried to make it look like XSR 155 but failed miserably. They should have launched XSR 155 instead of this, as for me its far better looking modern-retro bike.

I don't think. They actually had a FZX of a higher calibre nearly 30 years ago. This looks similar to the original one.

I remember subscribing to powerdrift when I was planning to buy the Gixxer 155 or FZ . The heated argument over these two bikes was amazing to watch . Both of the bikes were exceptional and fun to ride. I bought my Gixxer in 2014 and still love it till this day. But watching this now , this isn't the FZ that I knew. This isn't the FZ who rivaled the Gixxer . This is not THE FZ.
Hello... I'm using this FZX bike past 7 months and my odometer reads 5000+ KMs. Mileage which am regularly getting in city ride is in between 55-58 KMPL. I feel little bored and excited about EV-Motorcycles such as Kratos and Komaki Ranger. Am very much interested in Komaki Ranger as they are saying largest battery pack (4KWH), True cruiser bike and range is 200+ Kms. I really liked RANGER bike looks but worried about its performance. Can you please tell your opinion about Komaki brand e-vehicles and I request you to make separate video about Komaki Ranger bike. Many of the information about this bike is not displayed in official komaki website.
What’s the top speed? Do you feel vibrations?
@@sumantatalukdar8795 It's around 105kmph. Surely you will feel insecure to ride at that top speed. It's sweet spot is anything between 70 to 90 kmph. Am talking about FZX.

I have been waiting for over a year pre launch of Fz-X to get hands on one because I thought yamaha was gonna launchbthe Xsr-155 but now that they have launched it’s sibling which I don’t like tbh , now I’m confused what to get in the 150-160 segment, because I wanted something new.

Well I'm planning to buy my first bike, I was watching the TVS raider video and although it's an 125 cc it's lighter so power to rate ratio is kind of similar so I was wondering is fzx or fzr worth the extra 40k or TVS raider is good enough as an first bike (planning to use it for 2-3years and then upgrading)
TVS Raider better choice than FZ X in everyway. Or else just go for the FZ. FZX overpriced for what it offers over the base FZ.

The main awkward thing I find is the pillion seat.. would have looked a lot better if it was a split one or reduced the cushion on it by a little bit.

What makes Yamah think that they would not sale the xsr155 in India well? If they have a good sales figure on R15, the XSR155 would do a lot lot better considering it is a fantastic looking scrambler which stays true to the original yet stylish and modern design which is perfect aesthetically and really very attractive to young and older customers who prefer a retro looking bike and who knows how cool these design theme is.
