Hard Core I have to agree with TheOriolesfan8 first time I heard this song it brought about Messengers vibes which is my favorite album by ABR. I have loved all their work but I’ve been listening to them since 08 and if they bring back that Messengers sound I am more excited than ever for their next project.
Quentin Verle, it hasn’t quite reached that level for me just yet, but it’s rapidly moving up. I have to say it’s one of the rare songs that I like better each time I hear it. Usually after about 5-6 times of listening to a song, the excitement starts to wear off ever so slightly, but that’s not the case with this song. In fact, it might be the first song I’ve ever heard where the first time I heard it was the time I liked it the “least” (for lack of a better word since I actually loved it the first time I heard it). I said all that to say this: The ceiling for this song is extremely high, and when it’s all said and done, I wouldn’t be surprised if it starts banging on the door of my top 5, maybe even top 3 by them.
Fan since Constellations and I’m in the same boat. The tempo changes, the breakdowns, the poetic lyrics and vocal delivery. It’s a perfect metal core track from start to finish.
ABR is literally the only like "heavy", let’s say "no cleans"- Band that I can listen to, cause they’re the only one that can craft amazing and incredibly catchy melodies, almost as catchy as like.. Issues, DGD or BMTH, but still retain that heavyness. Every other heavy, like classic Metalcore band is just boring imo, I could literally fall asleep, but ABR just got that.. something I'm always missing from other "no cleans" bands. Also, their lyrics are the best one in heavy Metalcore too, like, there are some lyrics that I kinda live by cause they’re so thoughtful, philosophical and beautiful.
I really should dig a bit more into ABR stuff, they're great, the double breakdown was amazing. This is really a sick track, thanks for the discovery 🤘
Clément H. Sorry I’m late, but every song on the messengers album is gold. I listen to that album so much. It’s by far my favorite in terms of heavy ass sound.
I’ve never really been a huge fan of these guys, but when I heard they are on tour with Killswitch Engage and Light The Torch for the upcoming Atonement Tour, I checked them out a little more. I’m continually impressed. Then I heard this song and was like “HOLY FUCK!” Now I can’t wait to see/hear them live for the first time ever on March 28th! 🤘🏻
I'm only just noticing how much ABR cares about their mixes. With the re releases of Messengers and Constellations, you can find pointed differences, and pure improvements. I deleted all the old shit for the remixed shit
Hardhome Rescue, are you talking about AILD’s newest album? or just in general? I haven’t heard their newest album, so I need to check it out. I’ve personally liked ABR a lot more, but I’ll listen to it with an open mind. I’ve always liked AILD, but everyone has their personal tiers of bands; and AILD just never became one of my absolute favorite bands like ABR is. What’s the first song you would recommend I check out off their new album?
The drums are less prominent in the mix indeed. But that, surprisingly, doesn't really take away from the breakdowns, which were amazing! You should really give your thoughts on Immortal by Lorna Shore!
to my ear the drums' sound have more treble, at least the kicks. It started sounding like that on their remix albums, especially the Constellations one
I would argue against your first listen. If you say you’re “too used to their sound” you would know that the album is a full listen. The song is great, and I’m hyped for the rest of the story. Don’t detract from the overall in your initial take.
I like the song. But I don't love it. It's definitely much less leady and feels simpler than most of their stuff. Im sure it will grow on me. My favorite band. Can't wait to hear the album.
@@mr.keiser4259 That's the album I've listened to the least. My favorites are constellations and leveler. Constellations being my favorite album of all time. I don't think they have topped those two yet, although I really love phantom anthem. Phantom anthem took bit to grow on me though.
Whats your opinion on “Dramatic bits”, in this and something else I can’t remember when you mentioned that a part was dramatic I can’t really tell if you think its a good or bad thing.
As a fan of the older gen ABR (“Thrill Seeker” to “Constellations” era) I personally disagree with the sentiment that Phantom Anthem was their best record. I think this song is a fan service to all the fans who got on the ABR train in that older era and fell off after Constellations like myself. Phantom Anthem and everything else after Constellations was good. No doubt. But it wasn’t the August Burns Red I used to jump in the pit for. But that’s just my opinion, and it’s a stinky ass one. So don’t listen to me. Much love. Great reaction, my dude.
Whoa, I made a cover on this song, go check it out!

Phantom Anthem seems to be a drum heavy mix, Guardians sounds like its gonna be a guitar heavy mix, like Messengers but with more bass.
I can totally see it. I've actually been listening to this song more and more and the mix fully grew on me.

Personally I loved the heavily percussion-driven structure and mix of the songs on Phantom Anthem. Still, this song was badass!
My favorite band since day one, they’ve never disappointed!
I've been missing out on them for a while and finally got into them for the 10 Year Constellations Tour, been a die hard fan ever since. No regrets.
ABR is a God-tier band, both literally and figuratively.
This song so fucking amazing and a fast breakdown in the middle song and a heavy breakdown to close this song i love yeah
Loved it. Every part. I also thought it was odd to hear a chorus! It sounded great though. Get to see them live april 8th with killswitch 🤟🏼🔥
Haha, seeing them live April 6th :)
This song is in my top 3 fav songs of ABR. And I'm a fan since Thrill Seeker.

100% agree with your comment ! Seriously.
Moreover, I would say that whoever had the idea of the vídeoclip story is a fucking genius
This is definitely coming in your top 10 songs in Feb or even the whole YEAR
Haha, best of February for sure :)
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED SONGS OF 2020!!!

Im getting a lot of the ghost inside vibes. This is awesome!!

This may be my favorite ABR song ever.

They sound exactly the same live.
Perfect intro 😂
Michael Anthony, no intro needed with ABR 😂
Fully agree with your comparison with Invisible Enemy. That song as a single is hard to surpass
You're my favorite, not even 2 seconds in!!!
More people need to be like you. Just. Get. To it! Lol

totally agree with every word u said about the song. being fan of ABR since 2012.. hope the new album gona be at least on the same level as AILDs work

ABR IS BACK JACK
Welcome back! Nice reaction
Very good song. Also, you have to check out Code Orange's new single Swallowing the Rabbit Whole, it's just amazing.

I dig this shit so hard, i cant even explain.
You don't need to explain, it's ABR :D
I wasnt that impressed on first listen but the song has properly grown on me and I after two or three listens I thought it was crushing!!
to my ear the drums' sound have more treble, at least the kicks. It started sounding like that on their remix albums, especially the Constellations one
Love it!😍
Wanna check out some Austrian underground metal?
Indorsia - mindfall
Indorsia - twoface
Before us all - confessions
Would be amazing! 🤘🏻
Hard AF!
Pretty sure this was also a single mix as the mix on the Spotify sounds much better
I also thought it was the case, as I've been listening a lot to this track on Spotify and have no issue with the mix at all

Nah Thrill Seeker is literally like an angrier version of this new sound and imo is one of their best records

I usually like 'dramatic' bits, but only when they fit the overall picture. I think in this case, that part was very fitting and nice!
Hard Core alright that makes sense, thanks
