They're one of the best metalcore but I wouldn't necessarily call them the kings of metalcore because there's a lot of good competition for that title. However I do like almost every song they have made and the fact that they didn't grow up too far from me.
@@rhettehlis4155You should check out some more metalcore band's, ABR are not the best and most complex MC musicians out there. Every couple years MC progresses into something more complex. Now a day's almost all MC musicians are very good and it keeps getting better.
@spiritboxyxboxive met the band a couple times through vip and they are cool guys who will stay after the show and talk to everyone and shake everyones hands and take pictures which shows love to the fans which is amazing
My favorite band of all time. So many powerful songs. And musicianship is top notch. Also Jake has come a long way with his vocals. They've always been good to me, but are now on another level for him
Holy cow! I would be exhausted if I listened to their whole album at once! Definitely playing and singing with some passion! And the drummer is a beast!
And the guitarist is ridiculously talented, attempting to cover his work gave me carpal tunnel (among other things). I couldn't understand his music the first few times I tried getting into this band, but once I started actually playing guitar I fell in love with this dudes brain. The vocalist doesn't have as great of a range as I like, but when I started screaming he was definitely a staple that really helped me develop my lows and get started with high screams (I'm leaning more on Lorna Shore currently). ABR has a lot of songs that are just really fun to scream along to, and there's rarely anything that I don't want my neighbors to hear me saying.
I thought the exact same thing the first 2 or 3 songs I listened from them, just couldn´t like the band enough, but after hearing their song Ghosts I decided to give them a proper try and now their album Constellations is in my top 10 albums of all time
@@renatoalvaro551 Ghosts is probably my favorite ABR song to scream along to, it has such a meaningful message! I was blown away when I heard singing the first time I listened to that album - but I instantly recognized Jeremy McKinnon from ADTR.
I’ve been a fan of August Burns Red since the 2000s and it’s awesome to see them around still and on your page. Their members are very reputable, and their drummer (Matt Greiner) is a signed Zildjian artist (as well as many other major drum brands he reps with) who was featured in their Season 2 open of Zildjian Live. If you want to see Matt’s style really come out, I highly recommend watching the video. You can easily find it on here!
Well, the man does have his own signature guitar from Ibanezz. I'd say he's criminally under-known, but anyone who hears his work has to appreciate the musicianship!
Glad you're dipping your toes into ABR! They have an amazing discography, it took me a while to understand their unorthodox song structure and musicality, but holy hell when I finally did!! If you do another, I would recommend - An Everlasting Ending. If you are having a generally poopy day, however, throw on - White Washed and get ready for a ride that might leave you feeling a bit better. Side note: still (and still, and still...) waiting on I Prevail ft. Joyner Lucas - DOA. Here's a link to make it easy for you: ua-cam.com/video/P8fJ6kwWe8M/v-deo.html ... This is one that I am supremely confident you will enjoy not just sonically, but also substantively.
August Burns Red has the BEST lyrical content, you should really check out their track Dismembered Memory the song is all gas no brakes and the lyrics are *chefs kiss* ABR doesn't miss been a fan of them for 20+ years.
nice reaction ! from the drummer Matt Greiner : "My goal was just to get a few words out on paper in recounting the lowest day of my life. I started with the words, 'Tonhight I saw a father's love, waves, start to rise.' Nefore I knew it, I had filled an entire page of lyrics wich would go on to become the song Defender. A song about my dad(s righteous wrath swooping in when I needed it most."
Glad you pointed out the drums, Matt Griener, he’s one of the best to do it. So technically sound. The whole band are all masters of their craft. I think that’s what has helped their success and longevity.
First time here and subbed! I love how abr encourages the open interpretation like you described. All of their music is uplifting or message sending in some kind of manor and the meaning always actually has just that.
There's no better metalcore band than August Burns Red. Highly recommend reacting to anything they've done, especially the more recent stuff (just because of the higher production quality, easier for those not accustomed to metal).
Please react to The Cleansing by August Burns Red at some point, it's an 8 minute jam AND groove. The lyrics are great too, VERY small amount of repeated lyrics.
Thanks for watching! Most of my requests come from here. To support the show here www.patreon.com/poloreacts or show your love for the channel by buying me a coffee www.buymeacoffee.com/poloreacts 🤞🏾
Lol omg Polo is reacting to ABR. My life is complete. Check out the tracks “Everlasting Ending,” SpiritBreaker” “Beauty in Tragedy” or “Three Fountains” super melodic and beautiful tracks with a mix of heavy.
Can I recommend Periphery? Fantastic Progressive Metal band with a huge soundscape. The lead singer also has some pretty brilliant lyrical content and an even better voice! I'd recommend the song 'Satellites' to begin with, although their catalogue is full of gold.
To see that you're going into heavy metal is pretty gnarly 🤙 Very exciting to see. Hopefully someone requests All That Remains 🌩️⚡🌩️⚡🌩️ If you can't understand the lyrics, treat the vocals as another instrument... You'll enjoy the music a lot more
Whats up Polo! ABR is an amazing band with a huge discography. Id love to see more reactions to them. Id love to see your reaction to Dracul Gras by Periphery. Ive really been enjoying your reactions to metal. Kudos!
Yoooo, been mostly watching all your sleep token reactions and just watched the slaughter to prevail reaction. I beg of you to please do Exodus by Brand of Sacrafice!!! I think you would really enjoy it!!! Or if you are a man who prefers deeper lyrics from religious bands I’d recommend fight the silence by For Today. Very deep lyrics but the music is just amazing.
Love your Show ! I would like to hear your opinion on a Band that differs from the Bands you've had on . Snarky Puppy - Trinity (Extended Version ) An Awesome 20 piece Band !!!! ✌️💖☺️
Alrighty, I got all the scammer comments here responded to so hopefully nobody falls for it. Maybe we each take a video? Also, @Polo just a heads up, you have someone baiting your subscribers. They're attempting a fake giveaway to get PII which would likely evolve into "you have to send us some money to cover shipping costs" or something.
I don’t know if you have reacted to any country at all but I really think you should make a video about Colter Wall. His voice and guitar playing is one of a kind!!
Not the biggest metalcore fan (Killswitch Engage ... Bleeding Through... are great!) but I never got into August Burns Red... From what I know, the band is Christian metalcore and I know people who are huge fans. The band was formed in Pennsylvania and has been around for 20 years, releasing their debut album in 2005 and making a mark w/ their 2nd album 'Messengers' in 2007... 'Defender' is a newer track from their 2020 album 'Guardians'... their latest album is 'Death below' from 2023. August Burns Red's line-up now is: Jake Luhrs (vocals), JB Brubaker and Brent Rambler (guitars), Dustin Davidson (bass) & Matt Greiner (drums) Other bands from their metalcore genre include - Asking Alexandria, Bring Me the Horizon, The Devil Wears Prada, Periphery, Of Mice & Men, etc.
Lots of different variety of musics out there. Im sure there are other tracks he has reacted to you might have liked and others didnt. But at least he gives it all a chance
They are the kings of metalcore & have a deep, excellent discography. You can’t go wrong with any of it.
Whoa whoa whoa. As I lay dying are the kings. These guys and Killswitch are tied for 2nd.

JB Brubaker (the lead guitarist) is one of my favorites. He's criminally underrated.
