I think the tour went on too long. They needed more breaks then finish at the end of 1991. Then they would have been ready to release a new record in late 1992 or early 1993.
Jon has anxiety so he was probably hoping they weren't the only vj's so that the attention wouldn't be on only him and the guys because having a lot of focus on him and the guys probably triggered his anxiety
