I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this story, Two strong unconventional woman, and never a dull moment. The narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and I loved the inclusion of the term of horologist. My sister was a horologist and worked in Harrods of London in the 1980's, Just wonderful.

I was gonna say it oddly sounds familiar to the "beauty and beast". 😅. I enjoyed cinders like glass so much that I wasn't ready to put it down when it ended, so I listened to it twice in a row! Had I known this was the prequel to "cinders like glass, the story wouldn't have seem so short😊

7:20:05 - oh dang! This is such an amazing book! I love every bit of it - so much that I didn't want to pause it to make any kind of remark - which - seriously - is huge! Cuz I am horribly wordy! But dang! This part here - spoiler - where Dom is telling Georgianna how he feels - and he says: "I need you." Sigh!!!! My heart! Just oh such a really good book! There's 10 minutes left - but I'm just so happy right now - this book - this book makes me so dang happy.
I can always count on this author to tell interesting, emotional, feel good books! sigh - dang - I'm still smiling! lol
Spoiler - I love how it ended at the beginning of the wedding! how dang symbolic - sigh - such a really really great book!

This reminded me of Beauty and The Beast the moment the wolves started howling. Im still trying to figure out if this is a retelling of an old story twisted beautifully or a new story all together. Its marvelously done though. Im half way through the story and I say the narrator is my new favorite 😍

Trying to match stuff from books 2 and 3 in the timeline.
      Spoilers for the whole series.
      ...
Rochelle, would have just told Rosland to run from the county, and than for some reason, even though Luciene is also working for the tailor/s, they told Rochelle to marry Luciene daughter? So that... he could force her to pick some lock, we never know what she was supposed to pick... but somehow he was also the one who was with the sister back at the fire.
Also That definitely couldn't be his mother, she never would have been okay with a regular miss being the countess. And I don't think that the original tailor would have told him who to marry.
Also it says his mother and sister hadn't been seen for years, but it also says he was only recently made an Earl, what do they mean by recently?
I have to admit I can't pice a lot of parts together and they feel like potholes . Besides really enjoying the books that's the other reason I'm re- listening to it.
At the moment it seems to me that inconvenient facts are ignored and extra questions and intrigue rather than that don't lead anywhere. I'm hoping that was just my misunderstanding.

Wow this is a great book! I don't know where to begin. It has been said that if one wants to cover a song (or remake a classic fairytale), it should be better than the original or add something new. This is not an easy hurdle to cross but this book does just that! The narrator is a perfect match to the tone of the story. Best read in a long time! 🥇💐
Side note: as a writer I am unfortunately incurably picky with details and style, I can't help it. But from GO I was pleasantly emersed in this book. So grateful for this author! 👏I'll be reading the series. 🙏❤
