Really top tier analysis, lads. Thoroughly enjoyed every second from two people who have evidently paid attention and done their research, unlike many of the waffling pundits on TV. Would like to add one counter point, in relation to playing out of the back and giving the ball away a few times versus Portsmouth. Yes, granted, Palmer got sloppy with it that game despite usually being solid with it, but it is very easy to bring attention to the moments where something goes wrong, whilst glossing over all of the times playing out from the back goes right. A LOT of our transitional play comes from us playing from the back and beating the initial press without turning over possession. Often, Swift or Mowatt will pick the ball up from the out ball with space to turn, due to us breaking through that initial opposition push via the back line playing out. Many of our quick transitions which end up wirh Follows in a 1v1 out wide come as a result of us bypassing a press and risking the short passing. So, yes, it is a risk when it goes wrong, but on the whole we are absolutely reaping the benefits of doing it, and it would be silly to stop if we do happen to concede a goal or two from it. Football is a risk/reward game afterall, and if this is Corberan's way then I'm backing it all the way.
Brilliant analysis & you have broken things down to the nth degree. I shudder at the playing out from the back due to those lapses in awareness of those players close by & I would rather play a back 4 to play out from the back. This is the most Carlos Corberan squad & the way the team plays is a good thing after the recent off-the-field ownership & we are going in the best direction & that is the right direction. Hopefully with the depth that we now have any injuries can be covered by those on the bench right now & I'm sure Carlos has told all of them that they will get a chance & when it comes be ready to show everyone exactly why they're part of a West Brom squad & even though you lads did mention both Maja & Fellows the rest of the team all work as a unit. Ah lastly the Swansea game Moulumby wasn't expecting the ball to come back & that why when he shot he was sort of stretching for the ball & not being a 1 man team ( Lampard & Gerrard ) makes us even more dangerous to the opposition. Great Vlog
Subbed , great analysis and you explained a couple of things I had missed but you mentioned maja as important as a goal scorer which I won’t deny but this team does have several goals from perhaps seven players on the pitch because of the way corberan plays . Play off is a good call as squad quality is not too deep but Carlos does seem to be doing a cloughie making mediocre players elsewhere look quality when he gets hold of them.
Good analysis, i feel you understimate our depth this year, if swift got injured we have quality like grady diangana to bring on. Last year we effectively didnt have a number 9 all year because asante was not at all comfortable in that role and i think at times he was the difference that lost us games in games that could've gone either way. We still finished 5th last year in a tougher league with a worse squad. Very hopeful for the season especially with the fixtures list. A good few wins on the bounce and we have thr possibility to pull away. Still early days tho coyb💙
It does seem like a very different level of quality in the Championship this season. Not taking anything away from the sides, but this is a great chance for West Brom, right?
WBA have had an easy start to the season, the hardest opponent was at home too. Plus a few breaks in games and maybe flattering results. But the left side hasn't really featured much yet, Grants done well and is keeping MJ out, Heggem isn't attacking much. Grady is waiting in the wings, he's got good feet and Wallace can't get in the side, I think his form was disrupted when he was tried inside. Can say much about the signings by Carlos will be seeing them and he will know when and where to use them. The squads infinitely more balanced than last year, the team is so united you know the spirit is right and they believe in the manager. But realistically there are other stronger teams in this league, and from xmass on is when it's all won or lost.
I think 3-0 flattered us tbh, good luck for the rest of the season! Always have fond memories of pompy after the great escape, I’ll forget the fa cup semi finals 😂

Great video mate, thanks for covering West Brom
As a west brom fan you got us bang on we have the best manager in the leauge
Brilliant work lads but ditch the background music during your speech. And Albion ditch the central playing out from the back !

@@thefootballpark Definitely pal, if there's going to be a non parachute team take advantage of this weaker league it's going to be us
We have far more strength in depth than last season imho, cant think of many sides with a stronger bench..

Heggem definitely gets forward, and he has a fantastic cross on him
Can you do Liverpool please
They walked us but we're not at full strength. Bring on the rest of ya. PUP
