I love this movie. One of my favorites of last year. It was such an emotional, satisfying experience. 9/10.

I'm glad they put Once Upon a Studio on the disc. I don't know why they decided not to screen it with Wish in the theaters.

Same here! I Don't know why Disney scrapped the idea of putting it in front of Wish. it's pretty confusing because 2023 was Disney's 100th anniversary celebration. At least they have it on the Blu ray version so there's that.

Problem is, they’re all great movies. Wish is far from it.
Since you are a lifelong Disney fan, I really thought this movie would be more up your alley. Now I feel kind of sad for you.

By the way Dave, it's pretty shocking that you Didn't like Disney's wish that much. everyone has been bashing on it since it came out. I saw it myself and it was actually pretty Good. and as a Disney fan myself, it was a real treat for me.
While I'm sure that some people genuinely didn't like it, I feel like most of it was just bandwagon hate. A lot of people who admitted not even having seen it were the ones trashing it on twitter and reddit (mainly complaining about the animation). I thought it was a lot of fun. But then again, I also didn't understand the Frozen craze from a few years ago. (I thought Frozen was just...okay...) I guess we all just have different tastes.
@@HausOfTulito Well, Frozen is one of Disney's biggest franchises. when it came out, it immediately took the world by storm. I like Frozen as well.

While the nostalgia will definitely hit home for every Disney fan watching this movie, it does impact the story a lot.
The nostalgia isn't the main key to make a good movie. It's the story.
The music wasn't that bad. I did enjoy "This Wish" and "Knowing What I Know Now" more than the rest for sure, but I didn't enjoy the villain song in this movie.
While catchy, it didn't feel sinister and evil enough to consider "This Is The Thanks I Get" a Disney villain song at all.
Plus, while I get what they tried to do with the storybook-look animation style, it need a lot more work.
Also, some humor in this movie was a little flat.
In my opinion, this movie is nowhere near "Chicken Little" or "Home on the Range" territory, but it's not one of the best Disney animated movies since "Tangled" was released.
I personally enjoyed this movie more than "Strange World," though.
My overall score for "Wish" is a 7.5/10 👍
It's not the first time we had a villain song that didn't feel like a villain song, in fact Tangled did it twice, once in the actual movie with "Mother Knows Best", and once in the TV show with "Crossing The Line", the latter of which feels like a Disney Princess sing more than a villain song, we can even go as far back as Beauty and The Beast with "Gaston" as up until the final verse, it felt like a song boasting about the titular lug head like HE'S the hero of the story, so the idea of a villain song that doesn't feel like a villain song has a bit of history
@erichfiedler1481 that is true. But in the moment for Magnifico in "Wish," his song wasn't as memorable as the songs you've just mentioned. Just my opinion

@erichfiedler1481 not me. "Gaston" in my top 10 for sure. "Be Prepared" is my favorite Disney villain song for a reason. I've heard better Disney villain songs than "This Is The Thanks I Get." It isn't my favorite like I said, but I've also heard worse songs than this.
@@awesomeausman0422 exactly, we each have our own opinions on certain things, personally I hate that weird yodeling sing performed by the villain of Home on the Range, mostly for how despite feeling like a big lipped alligator moment, it's part of the plot that the villain uses yodeling to rustle up cattle

Agreed, it's not the worst animated film of 2023 (Netflix already has that in the bag with The Monkey King), but it's still hard to top masterpieces of that year like Suzume, The Boy and The Heron, Across the Spider-Verse, and Nimona
It's a not parody, it's a prequel to everything that the House of Mouse has truly brought.
This is why critics should never be trusted ever again, this is the best Disney movie ever

I can honestly say I did genuinely like it, it's not perfect by any means, but I still enjoyed it for what it is and even put it in my top 10 animated films of 2023 at number 7, and as for my least favorite animated film of that year, let's just say that when Lego and Disney do better interpretations of Sun Wukong, you know Netflix made a bad film out of 🙊 💩
I get the movie had flaws but that doesn't mean you have to treat it like it's the worst Disney movie ever made! There are way worse Disney movies than this

Didn’t once say it was the “worst Disney movie ever made”, and I never “treated it” like that. I gave my honest, balanced opinion and in no way did I trash the movie. People need to learn how to take constructive criticism, and learn that just because someone doesn’t like something doesn’t mean they hate it.
Yeah! There’s a fine line between being a movie that got mixed reviews or bad reviews. Seriously, have they seen Artemis Fowl and the Pinocchio remake? Those two are the TRUE most hated Disney movies in recent years right now. Wish only got mixed reviews from critics so it could’ve been worse

What are the latest developments for Sony/Universal to return to releasing DVDs in Australia.
Sony / Universal switched to third party distributor All Interactive Distribution late last year, who have been releasing all of their movies since.
I hope this Blu-Ray release of “Wish” will be a big hit.

I think all the Star Boy stuff was in the early stages of development, so I'm not expecting any deleted scenes with that version of Star

Wonder why they just didn't make a 2D animated film with animation outsourced to their 2D animation studio partners in canada...m
Because it would come off looking cheap. The Canadian team are only experienced in producing digital 2D animation for television. There’s only three artists at the studio now who know the art of _proper_ traditional animation (they worked on the Once Upon a Studio short)
@@DaveLeeDownUnderwhat about the 2D scenes in disenchanted they were done in a Canadian animation studio...but its like winnie the pooh, remember the 80s animated "the new adventures of winnie the pooh" the animation was the same as the inhouse animation from the 1977 film, but it was still outsourced to countries like Australia, UK and Japan, but also with pooh's feature film...
2000's "The tigger movie" which had its animation outsourced to walt disney A.S in Japan made 96m, while strangely 2011's "winnie the pooh" was animated inhouse in the burbank studio....and they both had the charm and innocent in their animation,..
Because I like now that they are using Canada for moana 2, because the film and tv industry isn't just "hollywood" its "the globe".....because it looks very selfish that disney are just animating their films completely inhouse, when there's animation studios around the world who'd kill to animate a disney movie

The movie wasn’t great, but it certainly wasn’t made with AI.
What I mainly mean by AI is that the films story, songs, characters and comedy were poorly written and rushed.
Don't you mean Disney Research? They're the ones who resurrected Walt Disney when the Exhibition was opened and Industrial Light & Magic used deepfake technology as well as machine learning.
Remember when Lucasfilm brought back Mark Hamill on the second season finale of The Mandalorian and during The Book of Boba Fett? At first, I thought they de-aged him but now after watching the documentary specials on Disney+, it looks completely nothing like him especially when he's unrecognizable by fans today.
