Pretty old video here and I don't even know if you own the RT anymore. So you're blowing air into the shower stall instead of exhausting, and blowing or pushing out the shower curtain. In the process, you're also spreading all that warm moist air all over the van. There's a reason Roadtrek puts the fan directly over the shower, and that is to exhaust all that hot warm moist air. Seems like you're solving one problem but creating a second one. Excess moisture in an enclosed area is creating a breeding ground for mold and other issues. From my perspective, this is really not a good idea. The solution here is really just a heavier gauge material for the shower curtain. A nice heavy fabric is not going to move around, but It could end up costing you a few hundred dollars to get a good one. That's the approach I would take. You may even have to get an upholstery shop to source out the correct material, but I've done a fair amount of sewing with heavy duty marine fabrics and I can tell you that if you get a good quality fabric it's not going to be blowing around and sticking to you. No way no how.

That reverse fantastic fan trick looked like a win. Glad it worked out for ya. I need that in the shower in our apt. I'm always fighting the shower curtain. Sux.

It's working out great. Maybe there would be a way you could mount a battery operated fan above that would blow down and keep the shower curtain at bay. Ryobi makes a lithium battery fan that is rechargeable.

Where did you get the shower curtain? Special order for the vehicle?

      Hii George Mulligan,
      Thank you for the question.
I bought two shower curtain liners from home Depot and used the original little rollers to hang them up. I skipped every other hole on the shower curtains and had enough of the little rollers to hang both curtains.

Thanks for the comment. I knew about this reversing update but I must give a shout out to youtuber Hobotech for doing it to his RT and getting me off my duff to do mine. It works great and in cold weather, what Hobotech does is turn the fan on to puff out the curtain then turn off while showering so cold air isn't blowing during the shower. Makes sense to me.

I had no issues showering in my old Trek 190 either! Being an Army Vet, and only 5'5" tall, I learned how to take the ole 2-3min shower! A nice Chamois Cloth took care of the excess water in the shower basin on the floor!

That is a very good point, Roberto. Your experience with taking short showers is something we can profit from. I don't know if your trek had it, but the one I have has a shower head that shuts down to just a few drops a minute. Keeps water use to a minimum.

Roadtrek Rich I had a 96' 190! The water came out pretty heavily from the shower head! I later purchased an airated shower head that had a shut off valve on it...and that worked perfectly! I wouldn't use more than 1.5 gallons per shower after that!

I am thinking getting a used Roadtrek 190 Popular like your. Can you tell me what is the depth of shower pan each corner? I suppose the drain is deeper than all four corners. I kindly thank you very much.

      Hi John Mason,
      Thank you for the question.
That section of the floor is dropped four inches down from the standard floor. It's almost flat but there is a slight, imperceptible slope towards the drain. Unless you are on a level area, water will collect either fore or aft of the drain but it is easily "sqeegeed" to the drain.

Looks like that shower curtain can also do a good job as doubling as a curtain for the sleeping area to help with a little more privacy and with a darker one, to help block out some light from the driver and passenger side windows.

Hi straycat1674. Thank you for the comment. Yes, I have used it for just such a purpose. Now I have a lightweight quilt that I can use for the light and privacy which also keeps the rear area warmer on cold days.

Great idea on the shower curtain, i will try that when i get my class b van.

    • @RoadtrekRich
      @RoadtrekRich  6 років тому +1

Hi Albert, glad you liked the idea. It works good, especially with the fan set to blow air into the van, it keeps the curtain puffed out and effectively makes the shower a lot roomier.

Hi tannc1, thank you for the comment. I love that guy. If I ever go to NYC, I want to see if I can get to meet him. I didn't do the "special code" at the end of my videos to plagiarize him, I did it as a secret code to find people who are in the "know". Thanks for keeping it a secret.
