im so happy this was documented , I remember calling back in the 90s it was so awesome ,as one guy was telling me some story about how one of hes relatives worked out the mines and so forth , was awesome. shame it was removed. as I understand you can still call the same number but its not the same experience.
This phone booth should've been cared for like a shrine. Too bad people vandalized it! My guess is, people littered the place up - resulting in removal of the phone booth?
Hi, it’s a shame of people would make a long truck out there, but didn’t bring a microphone to record the voice of the person calling in. I realize there’s an FCC law against recording people or you have to have a beep every 45 seconds. If it were me, I would attach a small microphone to the earpiece to record the peoples voices and just start the phone call by getting a “model release” from them, basically with them, giving you permission to record the audio of their voice.
I might move their and set up a shop for all of yall to hang out in i would run it for free if im allowed to use my food License their i will sell cold drinks and food every one still gets to do every thing they use to i will just provide cold ac and food and drink
